Love induction…we would never go back to gas
Two years ago, my wife and I purchased a 75-year-old home, which we completely renovated. When I discovered that our public utility did not supply natural gas to the property, I was initially very disappointed. I’m considered an above-average cook and had cooked with natural gas for over 30 years. Fortunately, a friend in the appliance business introduced me to induction cooking and encouraged me to give it a try. I haven’t looked back since — I would never return to gas.
Induction cooking offers several clear advantages. It’s an impressive technology — highly responsive, automatically shuts off when there’s no pan on the burner, and the sleek glass cooktop is incredibly easy to clean. Unlike gas, it doesn’t fill the kitchen with ambient heat, which we especially appreciate here in Florida’s warm climate.
The temperature control is instant, thanks to the electromagnetic system — a major improvement over the slow response time of older electric models. While the glass surface does get hot during use, it cools down much faster than traditional electric glass cooktops which seem to stay hot forever.
Another bonus: the induction cooktop’s slim power unit allowed us to fully utilize the 36-inch utensil drawer in the cabinet directly beneath it, maximizing our kitchen storage.
We chose Café appliances for their aesthetics and cutting-edge features, and we couldn’t be happier with our induction cooktop, electric wall oven, and refrigerator.

Worth every penny.
Excellent product. This is my second GE Cafe induction product. We had a GE Cafe induction range in our previous home and loved it. When we moved, the builder's gas stove just did not hold a candle. We recently took delivery of this induction cooktop, and it is excellent. Amazing temperature control, our Made In griddle works amazingly well on the linked burners. Our All-Clad cookware just shines on the induction cooktop. The gas stove required almost 15 minutes to boil a pasta pot, and the induction is down to just under 6 minutes (and no more burnt spaghetti!).
We debated a long time about the upgrade, as we also needed to have a 220V/50A line installed. That ran about $1,500 for the electrician and inspections. Now that its installed, I have no regrets.
In the 1930's, the natural gas companies started a campaign "now you're cooking with gas..." after 100 years, its time to retire that... "now we're cooking with magnets!!!"

Induction is Amazing.
We love this induction stovetop and I'm so glad we got the 36" over the 30". My roommate is a professional chef and he loves it. It heats up incredibly fast and cooks evenly.. When I boil water, the bubbles come up evenly, like perfect glass marbles. It's incredible!
Make sure you have enough electricity. We got the GE washer/dryer which plugs into a normal outlet, so we were able to divert that higher line to the kitchen to accommodate the induction AND the double wall oven.

Love, Love Love it!
I LOVE this stove. I replaced my gas one (a pain to clean) with this induction cooktop. It is stunning. Yes, easy to clean. I had to get new cookware and had no issues. Make sure the cookware works with induction cooktops. All my appliances are GE appliances. I will not buy anything else. Do not be mislead about the functionality of it. I had no problems at all. The only downfall was the installers. But, not the stove.

Love my cooktop
This is my second GE Cafe induction stove top. I love it! Be careful though, I dropped a spice bottle and it hit the edge and cracked the top.

Everyrhing I expected and more
I have never owned an induction cooktop before. However I have had a single burner unit. That was the reason for purchasing the Cafe cooktop. The ease of use, speed and convenience tops everyrhing. I will be recommending it to everyone.

Good performing cooking surface
Heats quickly and also has the ability to keep things at a proper low simmer. Get's some getting used to if you previously used stove/cooktop that was not induction, but adjusting is relatively easy.

Good Bye Gas Cooktop!
After 10 years of using a gas cooktop, we decided to go back to induction. We had Dacor and Wolf cooktops in our previous home, all BLACK and sometimes a bit finicky with the temperature controls. The new GE Cafe induction cooktop is a vast improvement over the last two induction models that were in our previous home..so far so good with the performance and the color is fabulous!...no big black glass...it will not disappoint and I highly recommend over the competition.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
Love love love. Everything seems to work great. Have been using for about 2 months. We have all the correct pots and pans but occasionally 1 or 2 of the pots will not work on the burner I would like it to but once we move it to another burner all is good. Seems to clean nicely. Love the fact that there was a choice other than all black.

High end feel with above average power and control
We got the silver/grey version to contrast with our dark granite and it looks fabulous. The 36 inch version with the giant center pot boiler is amazing. We tested it multiple times and it will get a large pasta pot filled with water to a roiling boil in 3 minutes. With the right convection designed pans, this cooksurface is really nice to cook on. Want to gently heat a cream or butter sauce, get the bluetooth saucepan or fry pan for really precise temperature cooking. Easy to clean and looks like it is off a Star Trek movie set. Superior to any other convection cooktops I have used!
