Burnt out motor
I’ve had this duel blender/food processor for several years. It’s been used quite a lot. Recently someone was used it for a smoothie and it was too thick but person just let machine run which caused motor to overheat and lug down. Now it’s not working. I’ve been trying to find just the motor portion. Is it possible to purchase Jose the motor/power part?

Cuisinart, smart power, duet blender/processor

I purchased the unit three weeks ago and I'm glad I did.
Due to medical issues, I can't eat solid food, however the unit allows me to eat whatever I want.
I basically use the puree function. It's fast and easy to clean. From Avocados to Zucchini, it gets the job done.
I also love meat. It does pork chops, ribs, short ribs of beef, Chicken and turkey (after I remove the bone).
From a medical standpoint, it's helping to save my life. (need to eat to live).

Compact Solution
Bought this to replace a not very old blender from the same line. The sturdy glass jar is the main factor for sticking with the same product and also the relatively compact footprint given current trends in blenders. While the power is the same as the previous purchase (500 watts), this motor is noisier, but it does the job satisfactorily. The food processor has full functionality. Although not a full size food processor, it is adequate for my needs. I look forward to long lasting use.

Meets/Exceeds Cuisinart's Stellar Standards
I own several Cuisanart products: coffee maker, toaster, food processor (yup, the original DL that's now 43 years old, and runs like the proverbial top! was a wedding present in 1980). It took me a minute to figure out how the "PULSE" feature operates - I'm lazy about reading directions. Everything about this product meets Cuisinart standards. Logical, easy to clean, smart design. Get one.

Nice to have combination Blender/Food Processor

Happy with my new blender
So far I am very happy with my new Cuisinart SmartPower Duet 500 Watt Blender, but I have not used the attached food processor yet. I have made smoothies and have done some other regular cooking jobs, but generally do not use a blender to crush ice, since my refrigerator/freezer does that. It is also much lighter than the old blender I was replacing, so it is much easier for me to get it in and out of its storage cabinet. That is a plus! I have been washing all parts by hand, and have had no problems. Happy so far! I would buy this product again.

Blender/Food processor
The first couple of times I used the blender it did not purée the fruit completely for my smoothie. I have found that I need to use larger pieces of fruit. Otherwise my expectations have been fully met and I am enjoying using the blender. I have not used the food processor yet
