Great choice after a long research
I am a coffee drinker that likes it in all forms. I am one of those people who really does their research when I started looking for a espresso machine. I really liked what I read on the De'Longhi machines but it came down if I wanted a fully automatic or a manual espresso machine. The more I thought about it, I wanted a more "hands on machine". Right out of the box it was pretty straight forward with the instructions on setting up the machine. I have to say, just buy some local fresh whole coffee beans and try to make a few espressos. Trial and error I found is the best way. If there is any other extras I would get it would be a knock box and a scale. The scale will help to see how much you are actually grinding and can make adjustments. The knock box will keep things neat. Now all that being said, I am definitely a "newbie" in this venture but after about a week of using this machine it became very easy every morning to make wonderful drinks. Right now I have made routinely cappuccinos, cold brews and Americanos. All are outstanding and the money I have saved by not going to local coffee houses will pay for this espresso machine in no time So far this is a well bought investment that I will hopefully get years of incredibly made drinks, hot and cold brew.

Easy to maintain
We use it for more than five years, every single day, at least 3-4 cups a day. Very easy to maintain. We had no problem with it yet. The instructions are very easy, in case you encounter small problems. It also makes nice milk foam to do the latte art.

Great machine
Fantastic purchase! I adore it. It's user-friendly and I enjoy the flavor of the espresso. The milk frother is a great addition, and the built-in espresso tamper effortlessly distributes and compacts the coffee grounds in the portafilter without any mess.

Best espresso machine
Absolute WIN in my book! I love cold brew and espresso. This gives the option for both. I’m still trying to figure out bean ratio etc. I buy local beans from a local coffee shop and that’s life changing. The price tag is high but it exceeds all expectations and I would recommend it to everybody!

Restaurant Quality Vanilla Lattes
Our goal in purchasing this machine was to be able to make restaurant quality hot and cold coffees from home. We chose this machine specifically because it seamed to be the most user friendly. After approximately a month, we’re happy to report it meets all of our expectations and then some. We’ve enjoyed vanilla lattes each morning through the holidays. It’s heavenly!

Love this machine!
I purchased my espresso machine mid November and love it. It brews a very smooth Cold Brew, the Americano is great and the espresso is wonderful too. I have used the steamer and it creates a nice steamed milk. I had wanted an espresso machine for a while, and I finally decided in this model and I’m very happy with it.

Simply the best, better than all the rest
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed by this espresso machine. The unboxing was one of the best gifts I had ever received! As someone who manages cafes and builds coffee programs for a living, I’ve always wanted my own machine at home.
The quality is excellent. I love the manual features that allow me to dial in my espresso to my liking. The wand has nice pressure and steams quickly. It creates a nice luscious foam with perfect microfoam.
One area I struggle with is the dose. It’s as fine or low as the machine will allow, the basket is full, and it’s hard to accomplish a nice crema with the espresso. There’s gotta be a factor I’m missing here. It’s pretty straightforward but could be confusing to some.
Overall for the price point I think this is an excellent machine and I would recommend it to someone looking to elevate their coffee game.

Great for beginners
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a longtime espresso drinker and already own another brand’s push-button espresso maker, so I was equal parts excited and intimidated by this machine! It had a well written quick start guide and lots of info, so I shouldn’t have been too scared. Within a couple of tries, I was able to pull a pretty decent espresso that is comparable to my push button machine. I think, with some practice, each cup will be better and better. It’s super liberating to be able to choose and grind my own beans. One thing to note: It is quite compact for such a powerful machine but does take up about 4x the counter space of my previous espresso machine. The design is beautiful and seems sturdy. Very happy with this product! Thank you!

Best machine ive used!

I was hooked on the expresso set up for a minute. Slowly started learning the other set ups. It became very easy to use and clean up. I love how easy it is to use especially when I'm running out the door. I love it as well as my husband. I can definitely recommend this to anyone.

My favorite feature is the cold brew system. The milk frothed offers a nice steamed milk that’s pretty powerful. Only takes seconds! Clean up is easy. It comes with all of the measurements and grinders for the extraction process. Lattes are a breeze. This machine fits beautifully on my counter top. It’s more the accent piece in my kitchen.

It took the whole day to figure out but definitely worth it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this expresso machine ! When I first saw it, I got a little nervous that it was going to be really difficult to figure out how to use. There are so many different buttons and settings which I'm still figuring out. I love the fact that you use whole being coffee and grind it up each cup that you make. I love the espresso cool and cold brew button. I also have made espresso with the milk steamer. I still need to play around with it more to become a professional and be able to make the espressos look pretty. Super super easy wire metal rack that comes right off so you can clean it. I absolutely love the temperature control which I previously have not seen in an espresso maker or coffee machine. It comes with cleaning tabs, hard water tests, and a water filtration system to ensure the best tasting espresso possible

Saving money on Coffee!!!

At first, it was overwhelming because I’m use to a Keurig. I struggled with the usage and had to read the instructions and watch YouTube videos several times before I could figure it out. The setup was easy, but I struggled with understanding how to make the coffee. I have gotten the hang of the basics and love this machine! I love being able to grind my beans and make my coffee all in one. The ability to make cold brew is AWESOME!! I recommend giving this machine a shot.

I love the steamer wand. I love that the temperature is always perfect. The brewing of the different types of beans is awesome and I can really taste the difference in beans and how they were roasted like I’ve never been able to before. This machine has opened me up to enjoying coffee in a whole new way. It is fantastic and honestly way easier to use than I thought it would be! Love being an at home barista!

Not just for baristas!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DeLonghi’s new La Specialista Opera offers you the chance to not only up your coffee game, but to have fun while doing it. We have used the hot water dispenser for tea, and the hot and cold espresso options the most. Fellow acid reflux sufferers, you absolutely must try the cold options because it can lower the acidity of the beans used. We have enjoyed our afternoon espressos, trying different flavored syrups and milk ratios, and generally taking a few minutes to sip and be more mindful during the day.
It was easy to clean the unit and set it up. Since we have hard water, I like that DeLonghi takes that into consideration during setup. The water compartment can be removed if you wanted to bring it to the sink or elsewhere to fill it, to clean it, and to dump out remaining water so you don’t end up with scale to clean out of there. The grinder is easy to fill with the beans of your choice, plus there are never any grounds in my drinks from this machine (unlike the drip coffeemaker.) While it isn’t a super quiet machine, it makes up for any noise with the speed at which it makes drinks. You can have super fast, great tasting cold or hot espresso that isn’t bitter or burnt tasting like the chain coffee stores.
I will say I’m disappointed with the errors in the manual. At this premium price point, I expect some better proofreading before the manual gets published. But there is certainly a wealth of information in the multiple pamphlets in the box, plus Youtube videos if you’re a visual learner or like to use body doubling.
The upfront price of DeLonghi’s La Specialista Opera espresso maker isn’t peanuts, but if it’s going to break you of your daily coffee run you’re going to save that much money in the long run. If the idea of being able to experiment with and quickly make fun drinks, get hot water for tea, and make cold brew coffee in minutes instead of hours, this is the machine for you. The novelty and versatility make this our new favorite kitchen machine!

Makes the perfect customizable cup of coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This expresso machine has all the bells and whistles from the temperature control to the pressure sensitivity, i can customize my cup of coffee exactly the way I like it. It does take some getting trial and error even for the me because I am more used to expresso machines that aren't as sophisticated but after some trial and error I was able to find my perfect settings and I love that I van save it as a preset. I don't particularly like having to clean and remove the beans after each day but I literally crave my coffee now so my want and love for it proceeds the work it takes to make my coffee. The quality of this machine is excellent. It's definitely one I would recommend to others and for the price you really can't get a better quality.

The perfect cup every time!!

It has smart tamping which makes a better cup every time. It has three different temperature settings. The built in grinder is great. Delongi has set everything up for the perfect coffee or espresso every time. You can do cold brew or cold espresso shots. Plus it has an amazing brother. I can’t recommend this machine enough and it will last so long. Cleaning is a breeze also.

Absolutely Perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was thrilled to find out that I would be provided the Delonghi La Specialista Opera from influenster in exchange for my honest review. I can not rave enough about this amazing machine that does it all and truly is a dream come true for any coffee lover. It has a built in grinder with 15 settings which helps to make super fresh espresso, americano, cold brew, and espresso cool (but has a setting for hot water too). The machine is beautiful, high quality with extraordinary technology, and comes with a coffee tool kit to get you started (filters, milk pitcher, cleaning accessories) as well as a quick start/easy reference guide if you are too excited to read the entire manual before beginning your coffee experimenting. I was also able to find videos online for this machine on exactly what to do for each type of coffee and what it should be like after brewing it. I am blown away by how smooth, delicious, and well balanced every single variety of coffee that this machine brews is. You can grind and brew single or double shots. The frothing wand makes the milk into perfect, hot microfoam so quickly that it is not even believable. The pressure dial lets you know if you are brewing at optimal range or if you need to adjust the grind or dose settings in order to get the perfect brew. Additionally, no need to worry about noise when brewing because this machine is quiet even during the grinding. That’s not all, the wait time to make fresh cold brew is minutes instead of hours and it tastes so good! Cleaning is simple too. I use the La Specialista Opera multiple times daily and mostly make lattes and cappuccinos which I have loved the taste of due to the addition of the perfect espresso shots and froth. It is so easy to grind a double shot on the left of the machine, tamp it with perfection using the tamping handle without even taking the portafilter out, then move it right over to brew shots. The Delonghi Opera is a must have, I highly recommend it and it is currently my favorite thing in my house. The only thing to watch out for is being over caffeinated because you love it too much.
