Took about 45 minutes to get the stones up to temperature (750F). Lots of family fun making the dough and pizza. . The online recipes are also excellent and easy to follow. I am a little confused as to why the steel reinforcement is only on the gas burner side of the over - when the wood only ovens have the reinforcement where the wood fire is? Seems like this is intended to be a gas oven primarily? Why not make the reinforcement moveable from on e side to the other- depending on the fuel type? Not a criticism- just my own curiosity. I would highly recommend. Also, I am glad i opted for the larger oven. . . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Family and Friends! This is such a great pizza oven! Its large size easily cooks 4 individual pizzas at a time if you can keep them moving through the temp zones. On propane, it takes about 30 min to get to full temp in fall and spring and little longer in winter. Recommend you get a laser thermometer to help with proper temperature control and pizza movement and extra peels to handle all the prep and cooking to keep up the speed.

These ovens are everything they say they are WELL BUILT WITH QUALITY we have many gatherings mostly pizza but the oven is great for many other dishes I highly recommend the FONTANA PRODUCT

I think it’s fair to say that I have put my Fontana oven through its paces since first firing it up. I would estimate that I use it 3 to 4 times per week, and often times for things other than pizza. For example, last night I made a frequent dinner of fish fillets seared on a flat top griddle, and then placed in the Fontana for finish roasting at high temp. I estimate using it 3-4 times per week. I’ve roasted vegetables in it, baked paella, roasted chicken, and of course made various styles of pizza. One of my favorite meals is pan seared fish finish roasted in the Fontana at high temp. A few pizza examples attached. Shipping was prompt, it was well packaged, and the documentation is excellent.

While I like having the wood option available, I think using gas made for an easier learning curve for our first pizza, and I did cook a great steak with wood the next day. This oven is the real deal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Above and Beyond I've had my Mangiafuoco gas/wood pizza oven for a few months and had been using wood until I could get the gas line connected. Plumbers came to connect it and they put the regulator in the wrong place so things weren't working properly. Desperate to get it connected, I emailed Pete Ludlow, (who originally helped me decide which of their models to buy) for the name of a local installer he could recommend. He shot back an email response within minutes and said we don't need to do that, the instructions are clear, call me and I'll walk you through it. We face-timed and he said he had to leave in 15 minutes for a family event (did i mention this was the later afternoon of Good Friday!) He deftly walked us through the problem and stayed on as we did the work - even while he loaded his family into his car to get to his event. Pete went above and beyond to help us out - super class - thank you very much! We made dinners in it Saturday and Sunday! Roasted chicken, veggies and of course pizza! Great product and even more important these days, great people! Thanks Pete! Louis

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop waiting and just do it I hemmed and hawed, did tons of research, and still worried about making such a big investment in an outdoor oven. I wanted something more robust than the smaller pizza-specific ovens that are so popular today, plus with the ability to do bread or other lower-temp items. I could not be happier with my Firenze hybrid oven. The ability to use gas for most of my cooks is exactly what I needed, and you have fairly decent control of temps. There is a bit of a learning curve, figuring out the hot spots and how to play with the damper to get the right temperature. But so far, it has been great fun. The unit seems built to last. We'll see how Texas summers treat it. But so far, so good. Oh, and they aren't kidding about having 4 people to help move it into place and get it set up. Also, I consider the oven riser to be required for anyone over 5'9". I'm 5'11" and it is great. Wish it was 2-3 inches taller, but I can't imagine using it without the riser.

We struggled because of the cost and then to settle on the larger size but well worth it as it’s an investment that you won’t miss. It’s so easy to light and warm up quickly, been making best pizzas, chicken, fish and much more! It is well worth saving. I will say if you are going to go hybrid though opt for this size as any smaller with a wood fire and space will be tight vs non hybrid. Now I’m focused on cooking cools, cast iron pans and much more!

The oven was received within a week, dropped off in the driveway at 4:00 and cooked the first pie at 7:00, it was a breeze to set up. Having cooked in a Wood Fired Oven for many years, I anticipated the convenience of this gas fired oven, although I was skeptical of the heat attained. I needn't have been, the oven reached Neapolitan pizza temps in 30 min, the Saputo brick really does what it claims, not burning the pie at temps where a brick floor would have. The build quality is great, albeit a bit pricy. Bravo....5 Stars.

It is a great pizza oven although with natural gas I find that it takes up to 40 minutes to get ,to 850 F. I have made 10 pizzas so far and found it. Only takes 2 minutes to make 2 pizza,s in the oven. Service has been outstanding. We had a problem With the thermocouple and it was replaced within 24 hours. Cannot say enough about how great the people are at Fontana. From purchase to set up And instruction on how to fire up the oven have been excellent. I am looking forward to makIng chicken, lamb, and steaks over the summer in my oven. Not sure I will ever use my barbecue again,

He and his friends (one of which owns a pizza restaurant) are blown away by the quality of the oven and more importantly, the food it produces. Trying to bake brownies without burning the tops next. Did have some manufacturing issues with the pressed in nut plates - 2 were not swaged into the leg and had to be replaced with a nut and bolt approach.

The burner assembly and the parts attached to the burner assembly on the left including propane hose got melted. Fontana said its a known issue and sent me a new burner assembly which still have same issue . They apologized me and are going to send another new design burner assembly after couple of weeks. Its bummer to see this kind of quality control for such an expensive oven. Now i am not able to make pizza most of the summer when i cook outside and use my backyard most.
