Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Amazing I wanted to write a follow up review. I purchased my Roma in April of 2024. About four months ago, the gas burner malfunctioned. I am not technically proficient, and even I figured out how to extract it from the oven. The hardest part was finding a box big enough to get the burner back to Fontana. It's about 4 feel long. Fontana fixed it at no charge. I presume I did something wrong that caused it to break, but they didn't care. They got it back to me and charged me nothing. But here's the downside. I started just using wood and building fires. And now, my oven works perfectly. It is as good as new. But my wife and kids love the wood so much that I hardly ever even use the gas anymore. I sneaked out a while back and used the gas, and they could tell immediately it was not wood-fired pizza. I might be stuck. I now have a wood delivery subscription from Cutting Edge Firewood. The great tragedy of this oven is how wonderful it is. I use it in the rain. I use it when it is 100ºF outside. I use it for bread. I baked lasagna in it. I can make 4 pizzas at a time. I've used it to make pita bread and cookies. When our power went out after a storm, I used the Roma. I adore it and the company has been so helpful. You will not regret the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! I've used my new Roma hybrid pizza oven three times now twice for pizza and one time to bake bread. I'm used to using a wood burning pizza oven so this was a new experience and I have to say a very pleasant one. Getting the stove up to temperature in about an hour and having it maintain the temperature while I cooked about 15 pizzas was a joy. None of my guests were able to distinguish the difference between the wood fired and the gas fired pizzas. If I have one suggestion for Fontana it would be to install a thermostatically controlled burner in order to use it for baking breads Etc. It is a little difficult to get the temperature right and to maintain that temperature with just adjusting the flow of gas. All in all it's a great pizza oven and I look forward to trying it with wood in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous luxurious pizza oven This pizza oven completes my outdoor kitchen. Love that it is a hybrid where wood and propane can both be used and very easy to switch between. We have had several pizza parties and easy to cook multiple pizzas in no time at all. Worth the investment!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Backyard Upgrade We had a small tabletop pizza oven for years and decided to upgrade to a new backyard experience. After much research, the Fontana Brand seemed to be the best ovens on the market. It's definitely brought the greatest experience to our backyard. With the hybrid option of propane or wood, we have elevated our pizza making to a new level. One of the best purchases we've made in a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy The cooking quality is really outstanding. I have roasted an entire chicken, steaks, barbecued chicken. Been using a Tuscan grill and the cook time is fast and meat is very moist. Cooked a pizza at 750 degrees in 90 seconds. Got the leopard charring of the crust. Very tasty. Been using small pieces of hawthorn tree from our yard so it burns very hot and has nice fragrance. It’s fun watching the fire with a glass of wine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Pizza Oven of my life. I've owned multiple pizza ovens in past 5 years or so. Most of them were Ooni's. They all made great pizza, and whenever I bought a newer one it felt like a small step up from the last one, but never fully satisfied with its performance. This oven, however, must be what someone feels when switching from driving a Honda Civic, to a Ferrari. I can't think of a single major complaint with the performance of this oven. It runs efficiently, heat's up quickly, and cooks as evenly as I think an oven of this style can. The difference in performance is night and day compared to the much cheaper portable ovens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beast I started with a Roccbox. I really thought about upgrading to the Gozney Dome. But I decided I wanted something larger. I wanted gas and wood. That led me down the road to the many brands out there. I stumbled across the Fontana Roma and it went to the top of the list. It can handle four pizzas and so much more. Here’s what you need to know: this is more than a pizza oven. I’ve now roasted meats, baked breads, and made fantastic pizzas. I’ve used the gas and the wood options. Gas is very convenient. Wood is fun. The oven build quality is top notch. You’re not going to find a better build quality with the competitors. I know. I looked. It heats up quickly and it holds its heat way better than I expected. I, and my family, are thoroughly pleased. The Roma is a beast and has handled everything I’ve thrown at it so far, which includes a roast pork loin, a chicken, Neapolitan pizzas, New York pizzas, Detroit style pizzas, baguettes, and ciabatta.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Pizza Oven Is Awesome! Getting the Fontana Forni pizza oven was a game-changer for us. It’s been so easy to use right from the start, making it our go-to for not just pizza nights but pretty much any time we want to cook something special. It first proved its worth at my son’s 6th birthday pizza party. Everyone loved the pizzas we made, and it turned a simple birthday into an unforgettable pizza bash. But what’s great is that we didn’t stop there. We’ve been using the Fontana Forni to experiment with all kinds of dishes, and everything just comes out tasting better. What I really appreciate about this oven is how it’s brought us together as a family. There’s something about cooking with the Fontana Forni that makes it more than just meal prep—it’s fun, it’s engaging, and it’s something we all look forward to.If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d say go for it. The Fontana Forni hasn’t just been an appliance; it’s been an experience, making our meals and family times a lot more enjoyable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fontana oven in a Food Truck!! I want to start by saying that I use this oven for commercial pizza sales. I owned a small carry out pizza shop here in rural Georgia, outside of Savannah. We used a triple deck pizza oven for conventional NY style pizza. We converted our business into mobile food truck style vending, and we use our storefront as our commissary kitchen now. The deck oven we were using at the shop needed 10-12 minutes to bake a pizza, this is too long for mobile pizza sales in a food truck. I purchased the Fontana Forni Marinara gas oven to to cook pizzas more rapidly in my food truck…Because of its size and speed. We offer 12 inch pizzas, specialty pies as well as build your own, I feel that the 12” pizza is the best size for this oven. We try not to put more than 3 pizzas in the oven at a time so we still have room to shift them around, but you could fit 4 in if you are quick enough. During service I make all the pizzas myself and I have an oven guy rotate them and pull them out as they finish. We like to turn the oven on high for about 40-45 minutes, let the stones get hot, and then crank it down to about 40% flame to sell pizzas. We run the stone temp around 500°-550°. Pies finish in about 3-4 minutes depending on volume. I don't push the oven to cook at 800°, my dough hydration is about 60%, we aren't doing Neapolitan pizza, but with the right dough and higher temps I'm sure you can achieve 90 second pizzas in this oven. We are able to do about 15 twelve inch pizzas every 30 minutes moving along at a comfortable pace…that’s 30 an hour without a struggle. Usually after about 1.5-2 hours of constant use we notice that the stones need a couple minutes to recharge, but we use this time to restock the pizza toppings and get organized. I feel that this oven is excellent for a food truck or mobile pizza sales. As far as home use and backyard pizzas...you could cater a wedding with this oven!...any backyard party or feast is no match for this thing, it will stand up to whatever you can throw at it! These are quality ovens, and they are built like a tank. As a pizza professional I fully recommend this product.
