Pc richards came and installed my new ac w no hassle. They took old one out ( which was originally Frm pc richards n put in my wall by them and lasted 16 years.) they took away the old one n put in the new one. We had to pay an extra 100 bucks bc the size was alil off. Bt, the guy fixed it and it looks great n works fine. Nice and easy.

Kudos to Friedrich A/C and their customer service
The A/C performs perfectly, installation was a breeze. My only negative comment is that it was extremely difficult to setup the app to operate the A/C via WiFi. I had difficulties contacting Friedrich customer service department but considering it was their busiest time of the year their turnaround time for calling back wasn't all that bad. Once the technician called me back he walked me through the setup in minutes. He was extremely knowledgeable and spoke clearly giving perfect instructions. The Friedrich app and A /C work in perfect harmony. The best place to purchase appliances is P,C. Richard, their staff is extremely knowledgeable and will assist you with all facets of your purchase. You won't get the same professionism in the big box stores.

Friedrich 8000 BTU window air conditioner
This unit cools very well, and is not noisy. The pleated plastic sides that fill in the window space on either side, leak air and water, and will crack with winter weather.Or, have the installer cut plexiglass panels to cover the plastic side pieces. Use silicon caulk to fill in the gaps at the sides and underneath. This is true of all window a/c units, not just this one.

Does this unit require a sleeve?
Not sure if I am the right person to answer this question.
Best to my knowledge this unit can be placed in a window and or the wall.
Ours was installed trough the wall, so we have a sleeve.
The sleeve will obviously help to keep the unit safely installed, and if you need to replace the unit at any time and can find the same size unit, it will be an easier change.

yes, it will work because this is multi installations unit, windows, wall, or sleeve. There is another model#UCTA08A10 which is made only for Uni-Fit Sleeve

The dimensions on the 6000 and 8000 BTU units were incorrect on the PC Richards website and according to Friedrich.com. When I received a del confirmation the day before my del from their del dept the woman confirmed the dimensions and thats when I told her they were incorrect on the Richards website. She double checked and said she would have them corrected. I havent checked since.
