Replacing a 18 year Friedrich unit
Steve V. was a major help, spot on with finding the replacement unit. I didn't want to enlarge or reduce the opening in the wall that would require additional work to the exterior wall etc. The unit is quieter than the last, sleek looking. Just need to figure out the wifi/ timer, just had installed.
He was knowledgeable about all the products and educated me with my future purchase of a mattress.

Went to purchase a new air conditioner today, with so many make and models to choose from can be overwhelming. We had the pleasure of being greeted and assisted by Jamie Chiarvalle. To say that Jamie knows his stuff is an understatement. He took his time with assisting us, getting the measurements accurate for a smooth transition for the in wall installation, and gave us tips on what temperature to keep the air conditioner running on to get the most out of our unit. Friedrich 13600 btu wall unit
We replaced a very old Friedrich with this model. Much more efficient with better cooling power and quieter. Wifi setup very quirky and it took multiple attempts to get connected and working.

Excellent Air Conditioner
Everything about our experience was top notch. The salesman really helped guide us toward the right choice for our needs. The crew installed the AC in our wall, did a fantastic job and took away the old one. AC works great and looks nice too! I'd definitely recommend this model. Cools our 19 foot long sunroom that has a high ceiling and skylights/sliding doors that let a lot of heat in. Easily cools the next room over as well if we leave the door open.

It cools quickly, but is louder than expected. Also, I was told it could be controlled by the app but the the app doesn’t have the Kuhl series as an option. i highly recommend getting it professionally installed.

Great PC Richards service and installation.
Excellent Service from PC Richards, Unit working very nicely. Did come without the remote or manual. They had to send me the remote and gave me the manual as a PDF which covers all versions of the Kuhl Series, otherwise would be 5 stars.

Friedrich 13,700 btu window A/C
This unit cools very well. In conjunction with my 28,000 btu Friedrich it nicely cools my 1600 sf first floor. The front face of the unit is a bit noisy. It is plastic and parts of it vibrate. This is not an issue with the 28,000 btu unit. This kept me from rating it 5 stars.

Better Options For Your $
These units are getting expensive. This replaced an 8-year-old top-of-the-line Kuhl unit that eventually failed. The compelling factor was the easy "drop-in" solution in the midst of hot summer days. In retrospect, there are completely sealed DIY self-installation mini-split units available for similar cost with higher BTU ratings, better efficiency, longer warranty, quieter operation, and fully functional smartphone app. App support and functionality were discontinued over the life of my failed 8-year-old unit and I was left without remote access for the last 3+ years. I paid a premium for my previous unit because it offered smartphone control, and Friedrich simply abandoned the feature which essentially downgraded me to a basic unit.
Wi-Fi is integrated into these new units, where the older unit required the use of a separate KWIFI adapter. The FriedrichConnect smartphone setup for this replacement unit does not work with newer Samsung devices at the time of this review, but other Android devices appear to be supported. The app is minimally functional. For example, if you change temp/fan settings at the unit and have the app open on your smartphone, the app will not recognize those changes until you close and reopen it on your device. Fan control does not always work and there is no simple way to turn the unit on/off. I have been using the temperature control exclusively for (de)activating the compressor. Just check out the 123 Play Store reviews with a 1.4 out of 5 star rating.
Of course, replacing a through-the-wall unit with a mini-split requires sealing up the opening in the side of your residence, so factor in the additional work and cost. I just expected better long-term product support based on the Friedrich Kuhl reputation and premium price-point. Do your research and decide carefully before spending your hard-earned dollars. The mini-split alternative would have been the better choice for me. My overall rating for this unit would be 2.5/5 but I’ll round up simply because it does cool the intended area efficiently.

Seems good, but difficult to set up WiFi
I bought this and I was happy to see that it seems well built and powerful, and that it came with the brackets.
The power button in the control panel didn't work, took me a long time to figure out that I had to press off the button in the panel, so the button mechanism was displaced.
It took me a while to set up the WiFi (instructions were not clear and I am a software engineer), and was surprised to learn that it uses a different app to control the unit than the other Friedrich Chill Premier units I have installed. So now I have two different apps to control the air conditioner.

Very noisy but it does cool
I needed something with enough power for a 50 foot x 12 foot area. It does cool, but it is very moist. I would recommend it if cooling was the primary concern. But it is right next to our television set so that is our problem. With an apartment that has limited wall space, we didn't have much choice. If you were able to put it in a window that was away from the television and area that you entertain guests, it would be a very good product.
