My Second Friedrich AC
This is my second purchase of a Friedrich Kuhl Series 20,000 BTU 220V AC. I have not had a chance to use it yet since I bought it in April. But the one I already have for 2 years is relatively quiet, cools well and can be operated with a remote control.

Replacing my 30+ year old Sears air conditioner
This Friedrich Kuhl 20,000 BTU unit replaced a Sears model that was purchased back in1988. The new air conditioner is so much more quiet than the older unit. The thermostat also works like a charm. It was definitely a great purchase. PC Richard even sent out a crew ahead in order to make certain the new unit would fit properly through the wall. Thank you, PC Richard

Excellent cooling and quiet operation
Very quiet operation. The unit goes about its business quietly and efficiently, turning off and on at the desired temperature. AT 20,000 BTU's, the air conditioner really cools down the first floor of the house quickly. This is our second Kuhl from Friedrich, the first of which we purchased back in 2015.

Excellent through wall AC
This AC is great! It’s unrealisitic to think it will be silent. It’s more quiet then any other other ac I’ve heard even close to 20,000 BTUs. It’s 20 decibels quieter (63db) then my old unit with the same BTUs. It cools quickly and monitors the temperature nicely. The installers did a great job. The old hole had no framing at all and they did a beautiful job repairing the opening and finishing it nicely. It’s an expensive unit but I think it’s worth it compared to what else is on the market. Couldn’t be happier.

We've had this air conditioner for about a month and its been good so far. I will give it 5 stars in time as long as there isn't any problems. The remote is small but does the job and the noise doesn't bother me much. Not loud but not quiet.

Giod AC and bad installers.
Nice looking AC and cools very well but not as quiet as I'd like it to be. I know its a wall AC and could never be as quiet as a split system or central AC. Overall I'm happy with it, the installers had no customer service skills and were very negative about doing the job in the beginning. I basically had to babysit them to make sure they did the install properly. Their craftsmanship was not good and not well equipped to do this type of work.

Quiet and efficient
We bought this as a through the wall air conditioner because it fits our apartment's current wall opening. We only have it for one month and so far it operates fairly quietly and cools our entire living room, dining room and hallways of our two bedroom apartment set on 70 degrees. No complaints so far. We have not set up the app as yet so can't comment on that. It is powerful and cools down quickly even in 90 degree weather.

Uneven airflow in this AC
nice AC but very unusual that about 85% of airflow comes out of the left vent and 15% out of the right. They told me that is normal for this AC. I never had an AC do that. So must be poor design. You would think an expensive AC like this would have good engineers designing it. Otherwise it does cool my living area and kitchen. Noise level is better than my older unit but I expected it to be even quieter.

This unit cools a 600sqft area within a matter of minutes on low. It’s very quiet compared to other units of similar size I’ve owned. It has a remote control and can also be controlled with wifi via an app. The app is nearly impossible to sync to the unit though. A lot of complaints about the app online. Other than the app issues, I’m very pleased and would definitely recommend this AC unit.

Very cooool
I bought this a couple of months prior to installing. Once installed i have experienced the following: Cools off a large area quite efficiently and keeps it cool right to the temperature selected. Very loud (louder than expected including a higher pitch sound when condensor is on) - however, this is offset by the cooling effect. I am unsure on recommending this product due to how loud it is. The app on my IPhone/IPad doesn't really work but I don't use it since the remote is sufficient. The aesthetics are remarkable and blends in nicely with my wall. PC Richards delivered quickly (even in the pandemic) and would definitely recommend using for any appliance.

What does this mean?
Unit is quiet, and doesn't shake wall when activated. Cools area well. Not had a "clean filter" command yet, but process appears to be a project by unit's design. Withholding a 5 star rating until I have a history on unit's longevity.

Does it need a support if installing through the wall?
Nope. In fact the new sleeve for the Friedrich unit fit in the existing opening. It just needed a little widening. No support is needed. The installer will use enough screws to securely mount the sleeve in place.
