This air conditioner does a great job cooling the rooms quickly. I bought 3 of them to replace my 15 yr old units. My only complaint is that it is so loud! Maybe that’s my fault for assuming that 15 years of technological advances would result in a quieter machine…..Otherwise it’s great!

Really Nice Unit! - along with some suggestions.
Five stars (as far as I can tell after using it for only a couple of weeks) for quality, ease of use and cooling capacity. Cools better than the almost new other brand that it is replacing, even though the BTU rating is less. The front panel annotations are more visible than the other unit, but still could be a larger without compromising appearance (Artwork always looks adequately large in the design phase. I suggest printing a panel and subjecting the physical part to design review early enough to change it). A little loud, but it is the right kind of white noise that doesn't interfere with my sleep. Noise factor also rates five stars, because that's what it takes to move the air the way it does. I didn't like the way it always starts up in "Money Saver" mode. It seems to me that it would have been easy enough for it to be designed to power on in the same mode in which it was powered down. Unlike the unit it replaced, you need to be more directly in front of it for the remote control to work, so the way our bedroom is laid out I cannot use the remote without getting out of bed. I thought that the WiFi capability would handle that utilizing my cell phone instead of the remote control, but after I read the "Privacy Policy" in the cell phone app I figured that I didn't need another IOT device snooping into my bedroom. That only subtracted one star, as I seldom need to control it without getting up anyway. Too, my intent to be helpful narrowly exceeded the obtuse disclaimer I needed to agree to just to try to be helpful here. Going forward, I am hoping that Friedrich will give more weight to its engineering team and compromise more appropriately with its lawyers. As for IOT data collection, well that's just rude. Over all I am very, very pleased with the unit, and I would choose it again in comparison with other manufacturers.

Anyone have the issue where you turn the unit on with the app but then the physical remote does not work/won't control the unit. If I initially turn on the unit with the physical remote, all works fine.
