Good AC

Easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really though it would be more difficult to replace an ac wall unit. This made it so convenient as it's a universal fit. Having air emissions a must for me as the weather gets warmer. I really like you can control this with wifi, its a great bonus. It cools so nice and isn't loud like my older one.

Easy to use A/C unit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed this at our garage shop and it’s working out great! We’ve used it some but our weather hasn’t been super hot yet. Does a great job of cooling our space and getting the humidity under control. I love that it runs off an app and can be controlled when you aren’t near the unit.

Great window unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great window unit that has excellent cooling capability. Installation was a breeze and I could do it by myself in about 30 minutes. It really keeps my room cool without disruptive noise. My energy bill hasn't gone up by too much at all and I can live in comfort now that the hot weather has started here in Florida.

Summer Lifesaver!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Friedrich Uni-Fit Smart 10,000 BTU unit to replace an old through-the-wall AC, and honestly, I’m kind of in love with it (is that weird?). Installation was straightforward, and it fit perfectly into the existing sleeve without a bunch of DIY drama—huge win.
The cooling power is impressive. It handles my living room (around 400 sq ft) like a champ, even on those brutally hot days. What really sold me, though, were the smart features. I can turn it on from my phone before I get home, and by the time I walk in, it’s already cool. Plus, I’ve yelled at Alexa to turn it down more times than I’d like to admit.
It’s also surprisingly quiet—like, “I can actually watch TV without cranking the volume” quiet. The energy saver mode helps keep the electric bill in check too, which I definitely appreciate.
Only minor complaint? The app setup took a few extra minutes and a little patience. But once it was up and running, it’s been smooth sailing.
Overall, if you’re looking for a powerful, quiet, smart AC that doesn’t require a full window commitment—this is the one. Totally worth it.

Easy installation

quiet and make the room cold very fast

I installed for my guest room and it is very quiet and makes the room cool very fast. Not too sure abour the energy efficiency but I will check my electricity bill at the end of the month. And the design is very elegant and looks nice.

Excellent choice
Excellent....quiet with easily readable displays-It is powerful, and delivers cooling quickly. I read the reviews before purchasing, but, after considering the other alternatives, felt that, despite the fact that it costs more, this is the best quality choice

Nice, But Expensive, Update to the Uni-Fit Line
For years, LG made the Uni-Fit line for sale under the LG and (for around a $100 premium) Friedrich brand names. Those models were the only real option for many NYC apartment dwellers with crappy older A/C sleeves. LG still sells those versions, but Friedrich has updated their version of the Uni-Fit line. They're a little lighter and seem a little quieter. Not a big difference in dB (still around 60 with the compressor running), but the pitch is higher, so it sounds more like a fan and less like an engine. It seems to adapt a little better to old warped sleeves, too, with less internal vibration. These are incremental improvements, and I'm not sure the extra price premium is in proportion. But it is worth considering. These units are made by a new Friedrich partner in China; it will be interesting to see how the longevity compares with the old LG models (also made in China, but by LG). Haven't tried the Wi-Fi yet, but hoping that will work well enough to .

Excellent Air-conditioner!
So far so good! This is my second Fredrich Air-conditioner. The first one lasted 18 years with no issues; when I moved to my new place I left the old one and purchased the new Fredrich Air-conditioner, hope this one last as long

very good but a little loud
This unit was a replacement for the previous incarnation of this model which died after 18 years! It really cools a large area fast, but this unit is a bit louder than its predecessor. Fan speeds are faster than the old model too, these being more like high, very high and hurricane as opposed to low, medium and high. Last gripe is that the air vents send the air mostly horizontal and can not send the cool air towards the ceiling like its predecessor. Otherwise, its top quality Friedrich and I hope it will give almost 2 decades of service like the previous unit.

Quality unit but installation slightly complex.
Great unit, WiFi integration is nice but there’s no support for utility company control (with rate reduction or statement credits). This unit has a distinct grille for the outside to direct & split the incoming and outgoing airflow. It wasn’t possible to attach that to the existing sleeve so I had to attach it to the unit directly - this worked but it took significantly longer to figure this out.

Effective and efficient
Powerful and cools the space quickly even on a low setting. Downside is it’s a bit loud, particularly as it gets going. But all in all exactly what I needed.

Works but has downsides...
Needed an air conditioner a specific size due to my sleeve and this was one of the few that fit. It works - but setting up the WiFi was a nightmare (instructions are wrong, found a YouTube clip on what to do which got me on the right direction) and the fan is so strong the lowest setting is basically on par with the highest on my prior model. It's also too expensive. If you have the sleeve depth I suggest the LG dual inverter ones as they have quiet operation settings, are less expensive, and WiFi is quick and easy. The downside is you need 28 inches of depth as the air conditioner is hudge.

Not your father's Friedrich
The smartphone app and customer support are horrendous. The app frequently disconnects and is largely unreliable for remote operation. I connect a myriad of devices to the internet and have never experienced bugs like this. Customer service is off-shore, and the agents do not instill a sense of confidence that they understand the product. Do better Friedrich!

Very loud
It looks like we've been cheated because the AC is very loud, and in the store, I specifically asked to turn on exactly the same model to check the noise level. It seems that the ones in the store are made better just to deceive the customer, because the one I brought home is so loud that you can't even talk to each other. This is a $1000 Friedrich AC, so you expect high quality, but unfortunately, that's not the case. I had to keep the device because I have allergies to pollen, so I have closed windows and had no choice. Overall, a failure....

Be aware. It keeps breaking
I bought this unit 4 years ago and since then it has broken 3 times already. At the beginning of every summer. The compressor keeps breaking and I kept having it fixed (stupid me). The manufacturers warrranty does covers the work. But you would have to pay for the diagnosis.
The equipment is also kind of loud and we have to set the tv volume high. Moreover, the WiFi setup is close to imposible. I was just able do to it once following a YouTube guide bc they have thei instructions wrong.

Regret the purchase. Not what I expected....
It really doesn't crank... has to run all night to stay cool - had so many problems with PC Richard install and my first 10k unit, same model. The fix, after 3 swaps, was this 12K and I'm really not happy and not cool as I would like to be.

3rd time Replacement as well!
This is the 3rd time I'm replacing this unit, as others have mentioned. Friedrich requires you to take it to one of their certified repair shops which typically takes two weeks to diagnosis. Both cases refrigerant was leaking was unrepairable, required replacement. This unit only last 1 summer before failing.
