Friedrich Wall Master Series 10,000 BTU
I've really liked this purchase. I've been using it for the past month. It cools my room quietly and efficiently. I barely hear it running even while I am sleeping. I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent A/C
We bought a condo which requires Friedrich in-wall A/Cs. The unit works very well, has energy saving controls and works very well. The sale and installation experience was excellent.

A good option, if you're in need for a thru- wall
I'm flabbergasted about all the super negative reviews, especially recent ones, that report that features don't work. I wish I could reach out to some of the reviewers to help with setup. Because my unit works flawlessly. The remote operates from 27' away (and possibly more), internet setup was a breeze, the app works fine, the machine is superb considering all the factors.
Basically, this is the best all-in-one AC unit I've ever bought, on account on simply being the quietest. I was a little put off by the bathroom- dryer aesthetic at first, but it turns out that having a chunk of solid plastic in front (instead of a clip- on grill) turns down the rattle to ZERO. The sound isolation is also very good in general: the compressor sits on rubber pads and the foam blocks street noise well.
As for "features", it is a little low on those, especially on first glance: there are only temperature, mode, and fan speed to alter, and the same offerings on the unremarkable remote. The trick is to find the menu button, which is hidden underneath the display INSIDE THE AIR INTAKE. Once you figure this out (the manual being no help), advanced options are available, including Fahrenheit/Celsius display, a timer, a complicated lockout function, and the all- modern connectivity option.
So yes, this AC does connect to the internet via WiFi (2.4 GHz band only). You unfortunately have to make an account on Friedrich's site and give them your router SSID and password, but once you've done that, there is no other configuration necessary. You can then go to their site (or use the app) and control basics of your AC over the internet, which in itself is pretty cool.
Going one further, registering your device is also the only way to activate the really fancy feature, which is to program an entire week's schedule. Using easy sliders, you just tell it weekday- by- weekday when you plan to wake up, leave the house, come back, and go to sleep. On the AC unit itself, you can only enable or disable the schedule you've entered online, but not alter it.
And there you have it. The AC is definitely on the expensive side, but a surprisingly good machine considering that we Friedrich wall sleeve owners are a captive customer base.

Powerful AC
Our Old AC died on us in the middle of Summer and we needed a new and reliable one fast! Thankfully, this was it for us. It cools the entire room in minutes. I definitely recommend.

Friedrich AC
Generally works well. Haven’t tried WiFi because I don’t need it. Sticks out slightly farther into the room than the one it was replacing. Thermostat is a couple degrees off so I set it at 70 when I want 73.

First impressions
AC looks nice and works well, but it is louder than what I expected. When the fan is set to "auto" mode (so it will self- regulate/turn off at a specified temp), I sometimes have to change the fan setting to "On" as it stays off too long so the room gets too warm. Finally, the user manual should include instructions to press the "On" button twice to turn on the AC. PC Richards did a good job removing my old unit and installing the new one --i.e., came on time and did the job quickly and professionally.

Not White! It’s GREY!
If color matters to go to make your room cohesive!? We purchased a white air conditioner… it’s GREY! trying to tell me it’s white .. It’s still Grey! If you care about colors that match .. it’s grey not white! It won’t match anything!

Friedrich WallMaster is Fine
We recently discovered that our old Wallmasters were full of mold, so we got these as they were supposed to be the drop-in replacement. But the front panel of these protrudes from the unit far more than the our older model, so on one of them we had to leave it off to fit inside the cabinet that houses the unit. This is a pain and requires that we store the large, bulky cover which, takes up precious space in our small apartment.
Getting the unit onto WiFi took some effort, but was eventually doable without too much hassle. The ability to control the ACs while we're away from the apartment is nice, but the scheduling feature lacks the ability to turn the units on or off. The scheduler only controls the temperature over time. Our old unit had a timer feature that allowed you to turn the unit on or off at scheduled times; this model does not have that ability. The scheduler controls are also very finicky, and schedules often don't get saved. So, while WiFi is nice, I miss the ability to schedule power status of the units as I do not want to leave them running 24/7, and the scheduler overall could work better.
Beyond all that, these ACs cool nicely — though they do need to be turned down farther than our previous model to cool the same amount. They are also reasonably quiet. Overall noise from these is actually better than our old ACs. They are sealed internally, block out street noise well, and the sound that occurs when the compressor kicks in is far less noticeable.
If you have a through-wall AC on an exterior wall, your options are extremely limited. Friedrich ACs are reasonably quiet, well built and last a long time, even if they might not be the most technologically advanced. I think this purchase was the right one for us as this unit matches our sleeve perfectly, but it's not an exciting AC packed with modern features. It's an AC that will fit your wall sleeve and cool your space.

Air conditioner
It is not quiet. It makes noise. It also constantly has condensation on it. I have to keep wiping it. Don’t like it at all. Also very hard to remove cover to clean filter.

Problems
I bought this unit in August of 2020. I also bought a unit for my other room in 2019. The 2019 works like a charm. The 2020 unit had to be replaced after one week. Then you have to push the remote twice for it to go one. Then had to make a number of phone calls to find out how to clear the " CHECK FILTER" light. The the cover was so tight that when we took it off the plastic on the side snapped so now i have to tape it onto the unit.
I just ordered a new cover ( again after numerous phone calls to find the right connection) and its costing me 75. Then it doesn't seem to cool as well as the 2019 unit. Have to set this one on 60 degrees. The 2019 stays on 70. Its a bit nosy not terrible but could be less loud. An now insult to injury its not blowing any air at all. My apt get pretty hot during the day so i leave it on in the morning and night for about one hour even though its winter for my pup so he can stay cool. Calling today at 9 am for service to come. Hope service will come quick and repair it. Bottom line should be better for the cost. But they have us over a barrel since not many optioned to choose for sleeve ac's.

Great A/C, Wi-Fi not so much.
As an air conditioner, this may have no equal in the world of through-the-wall units. It replaced a 13-year-old unit from another manufacturer, and is quieter and, I suspect, far more efficient. The cooling power is massively better.
My low rating is based on my issues - still not resolved two weeks after purchasing the unit - involving the promised Wi-Fi connectivity and my interaction with the Friedrich, which has not been the best.
This model has been made since 2019, and the units - this one plus two 8,000BTU ones purchased at the same time - all were actually made in 2021 according to their serial numbers. WI-FI DOES NOT WORK. The company identifies the problem as the firmware. Unfortunately, firmware is on the system board and is not upgradeable except by having warranty service come in and replace the board(s). The first attempt at this replacement resulted in the company sending the wrong parts. I'm still waiting for the new ones! It begs the question that they have apparently been aware of this problem for at least two years and continue to ship units with bad firmware, perhaps hopeful that "smart-home" aficionados like me are in the minority and if a frill like Wi-Fi doesn't work, oh well. My intention is to hold their nose to the fire and demand that they make it work. Wish me luck...

Friedrich WallMaster 10,000 BTU Wall Sleeve Air Co
Over priced for unit this size. I had no choice since this was only AC to fit in my wall sleeve.
I had issues with Wifi setup. Friedrich support is 1 out of 10. Long hold times and not very helpful. PC Richard was able to assist by sending tech to my house to fix Wifi setup.

Don’t buy this. Remote control is the useless.
The remote control only works when within 4-5 from directing in front of unit. Nobody from PC Richard or Friedrich seem to care about the problem. Problem occurs in store as well as in my home an with different units and remotes. Once PC Richards and Friedrich had my money they now just ignore the problem. Very disappointed.
