Friedrich Wallmaster -excellent design and perform
The ac is excellent in both design and performance. In terms of design my visitors thought is a split unit -that’s how impressive the design, the airflow is remarkable you can feel the difference of each of the speed and the ability to control the air direction. The thermostat is on time when the set temperature is reached.

We recently bought a condo which requires Friedrich in-wall A/Cs. The unit works very well, has energy saving controls and works very well. The sale and installation experience was excellent at the Steinway Street store where we bought another A/C recently.

The A/C fits perfectly into the Wall Sleeve. With the different adjustments make it convenient to have the room very cold or what ever your comfort zone is. I would recommend this to everyone

Very quiet, works great
After getting a faulty unit, with a very loud compresor and that wasn’t working, P.C. Richards sent me a new unit that works as advertised. At first I was feeling like I shouldn’t pay more for the wallmaster, but the new unit convinced me otherwise. I’ve read other reviewers complaining about it not being quiet, they should contact the store or Friedrich to get it replace, because this Wallmaster is very quiet.

Manual outdated
The manual mentions handles and buttons that don't exist. According to Reddit it has been this way for over 3 years. Given how expensive the model is, providing proper directions about how to clean the filter is the least they can do.

The MENU button needed to program the Wifi to your mobile device is located between the touch pad/screen and the cover that is removed when filter cleaning is needed. In that gap on the upper left side. If you your fingers there you’ll feel them because it’s NOT visible to the eye the way it’s shown in the instructions manual. I’m still trying to connect it, but just finding this mysterious button took time. And FYI there’s a RETURN button next to the MENU button. It cools well.

Great AC, cools my room super fast. The smart app/WiFi connecting is annoying. You must use “FriedrichConnect” only and not FriedrichGo app. I’ve had it for less than 1 month and have had to reconnect/reregister again. Customer Service was very helpful troubleshooting.

Almost as good as the older model, almost.
Works as good as can be expected. A little noisy at first until it settled into the sleeve. Thermostat isn’t as sensitive as the older model and have to set 2° lower to get the temperature right when set to auto. If your room is close to the max square footage rating, I would suggest choosing the 10,000 BTU unit.

Quiet running, great features such as timers, remote control and WiFi settings. Easy to install in the feeders wall sleeve. There is no model without these convenience features so you are forced to paying a higher price for this unit.

Good AC. Wi-fi setup and use needs improvement.
This my fourth wall master. AC is solid. Wi-fi setup documentation is poor. Wi-fi set-up was time consuming and frustrating Use 2.4ghz not 5ghz to connect. Web interface and app is usable but is poor. Friedrich should invest in improving interface/app to match quality of AC. Also I am considering purchasing a Uni-fit. Uni-fit and WallMaster use two different interfaces/apps to connect; Friedrich Connect vs Friedrich Go- makes no sense. Should add IFTTT channel also.

Efficient cooling, not too noisy, nice looking.
This unit cools my room very efficiently. My through-the-wall sleeve wasn't installed perfectly: it's too far into the wall, so the unit can't just clip in and fit snugly. This isn't the unit's fault, but it's probably a common problem in older buildings where the sleeve has been there for many years. The unit wasn't sitting exactly level as a result, and was causing quite a rattle when the compressor kicked in, but I propped it up on one side and the rattle went away. At this point the unit is working pretty much as well as it can given my less-than-perfect wall-sleeve – it's an AC, so it isn't whisper quiet, but for the size and the cooling capacity it manages to avoid being overly loud, which I appreciate. The design is also a step up from most window and wall units, with a curvy white cover where the grilling would normally be. Is almost looks like an Apple product.

How use settings properly.
How to properly use the settings & that the power button, once you press it , doesn’t turn the unit on. You must press it twice. I found this out through trial & error.

not as good as previous model i had
I had to replace the control panel of the unit to get updated firmware since the unit would not connect to Wi Fi. Friedrich sent the part. Took over an hour to take out the previous control panel and replace with upgraded one. Then took about an hour to figure out how to connect the WiFI. The timer feature still does not work. Remote is a piece of junk. Very basic. It does not have all of the options my previous unit remote had.
