Love it!
Just had it installed and absolutely love it. Quiet, efficient, attractive appearance, easy-to-use. The dual-hose is a big deal. Most other such ACs don’t have them. Very happy with purchase.

Cooling my space is good, however, the installation process wasn’t the greatest. Too much space not sure of future options pertaining to removal for the cold months. On the other hand, I guess I’ll find out if the heating system is impressive.

huge disappointment
Bought this to use in place of a window a/c because I'm tired of having to remove and reinstall the window a/c every season. The tubes and window kit are flimsy and the tubes have a lot of air leaks where they connect to the a/c and window kit and are barely adequate. The window a/c I was using is a 12,000 btu. This is supposed to be close to 14,000, so it uses more power than my window a/c. The huge disappointment is that it's about half as effective at cooling the same space. I thought there was something wrong with it, so I called Friedrich. They told me I should never expect these to work as well as a window a/c and that it's performing as it should. I wasn't able to return it, so now I'm stuck with it. It's really heavy and hard to move also. The tubes put out a ton of radiant heat, so I put a blanket over those--that probably helped a little, but not much. This thing just doesn't work well and it's pathetic--a big waste of money.

Why is this model so much higher in cost than the other models by the same maker? What is included that makes it higher --the ability to also heat? I just need the cooling aspect.
This model, the ZHP14DB, covers up to 500 sq ft. It has AC & heat and a built-in drain pump for the dehumidifier function.
If PC Richards carries it, you might want to consider the ZCP12DB, which covers up to 400 sq ft and is the AC only version. It does have the dehumidifier capability but not the built-in drain pump.
