About this Item

Overview

Frigidaire 36" Induction Freestanding Range

The Frigidaire Professional 36" Induction Range features dual fan convection that effectively circulates hot air throughout the oven cavity, giving you perfectly baked muffins, proteins and more. Plus no cooktop is easier to clean than induction, since induction heats the pan and not the cooktop around it, spills wipe up more easily. This range also features backlit LED knobs and our Smudge-Proof(R) Stainless Steel finish that resists finger prints, making cleanup easy.

Features

Easy-to-Clean Cooktop
Unlike traditional electric and gas cooktops, Induction only heats the pan and the food in it, so the area around the pan stays cooler, allowing you to clean up spills and splatters while you cook.

Safer Cooktop Surface
Induction heats your pan and the food in it, so the area around the pan stays cooler.

Energy Efficient Cooking
Use less energy while you cook with energy-efficient induction technology which heats the pan directly so less heat loss in the cooking process.

Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel
Resists fingerprints and cleans easily.

Compatible with most cookware
Most stainless steel and cast iron cookware is compatible with induction elements. Rule of thumb: if a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, it's induction-compatible.

* Pan performance may vary based on cookware material and quality.

ADA Compliant
Product complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

* * When properly installed, meets the appliance standards in the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Guidelines as published by the United States Access Board on June 23, 2004, as amended August 5, 2005.

Dual Fan Convection
Get faster, more even multi-rack baking with powerful dual convection fans that circulate hot air throughout the oven cavity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Never Thought I'd Switch From Gas! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a diehard fan of cooking with gas and swore that is the only stove I would ever have. I went to my local appliance store to purchase a refrigerator and was ogling the Wolfe professional gas ranges when the salesman asked had I ever considered induction. I was appalled and said I would never have an "electric range". He gave me a demonstration and I was very intrigued. I went home and did a lot of research and saw a lot of other fellow gas range devotees had made the switch and would never go back. I decided to go for it. Am I glad I did! Cooking on this gorgeous induction range is more precise, faster, and more even heating than my gas range ever was. I love the bridge mode on not just one, but two sides of the range, which was the biggest reason I chose Frigidaire. It is such a great feature. I can get a lower simmer and a higher boil than I could on my gas range. The oven temperature has been accurate and steady as well. My husband is still in awe that I gave up cooking with gas -- he said he never thought he'd see this day! I didn't either but I've made the switch and I'm never going back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love the quick response on burners [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just completed a home/kitchen renovation and although my husband wanted to convert our stove to gas, I convinced him to try an induction range for environmental reasons. Others who have cooked on gas and switched to induction love it which is how I came to learn about induction cooking. There are so many nice features on this Frigidaire model. Only the surface under the pan gets hots. Although the burner area stays warm after you take the pot off the surface, it is much cooler, much faster than a traditional burner. I have found the glass top to be easy to clean. Another plus is if something does boil over, clean up is much easier because again, only the liquid that seeps under the pot is left behind instead of a much bigger mess on a glass-top cooking surface. Seriously, the burners respond fast, very similar to gas - it's on, it's off. Water boils in a snap. We also love going to a bigger stove/oven combo of 36" and since we were doing a renovation, this was possible. The inside of the oven is large and I love the middle easy sliding rack. There is even a feature with this stove/oven that turns itself off after a certain period, depending on whether a burner or the oven. But the times don't interfere with every day cooking and I think it's a smart safety feature. We installed a downdraft behind our stove because we kept the stove in the same location as our old cooktop and we have to use a downdraft because our inside stairs block our ability to easily vent from the top of a range hood. I am loving having both the stove top and oven all together instead of having them on different sides of the room. Also the stove does come with stainless cover options (skirt) if you do not want the legs/feet to show as you can see from the picture on the website vs. actual install in our home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Learning Curve [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are still getting used to an induction surface, but like how responsive it is when you want to reduce heat (such as when the pot is about to boil over! Haha). We also like how quickly we can get to a boil when using the accelerate setting. I think the simmer setting is a little too warm for certain things (like rice) IMO, but the 2 or 3 setting works great for those items. The convection roast did a lovely job on our whole chicken and potatoes recently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it so far! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range is beautifully designed and looks great in my kitchen. The oven works well, and I like the controls although they take a little time to get used to, but fairly intuitive. The knobs turn the opposite way I'd expect, to turn on the range. Have not used the cooktop much because I still need to buy induction-ready pans. But it works with my old tea kettle and it's amazing how fast it boils water, and how quickly the surface is completely cool after it's turned off. Very happy with the purchase so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent range [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this range to replace another brand’s stove. This one is much better. It’s quieter, has more helpful features, and the cooktop is much more thoughtfully designed. I appreciate the many levels of power available and really like the stovetop lock option, since we have a curious toddler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took a bit to convince my husband to go with induction but I'm very happy with the stove. We also had to upgrade our fuse box but that was probably a good thing too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was an excellent purchase [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted to replace our gas range with an induction model. For a couple of years, we hesitated and could not truly find a product we really wanted, or that was not back-ordered. The Frigidaire 36” induction range fit our needs perfectly and fits our kitchen space. We are happy with our purchase but have only had the appliance for a month now. Things we like about the range: • The cooktop heats instantaneously. Boiling water is available VERY quickly. • The control of pan temperatures is also nearly instantaneous. Raising or lowering the temperature seems quicker than our gas range. • The lowest settings with the ability to simmer or keep food warm are MUCH better than our gas range. It would continue to cook foods even at the lowest settings. • Clean up of the range top is far easier than our gas range. • There is far less heat created in our kitchen due to the induction method of cooking. • We love the fact that the ventilation of the range electronics is from the back of it. Our prior range would blow hot air out the front of it, making us very warm while cooking. • We have not tried the oven yet, but are impressed with the fairly quick pre-heating. • The oven steam cleaning cycle is a plus and should make oven cleaning a less burdensome chore. • The provided telescopic guides for the over rack are very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade from my Viking gas range [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was nervous about switching to induction cooking but am currently very happy with the decision. The fact that pans get hot almost instantaneously, saves so much time. At the highest heat, I can get a beautiful sear and crust on a piece of fish or steak that I never got on my professional gas range. The oven cooks evenly and accurately. It’s also much easier to keep the cooktop clean. I’m an avid and enthusiastic cook and haven’t found anything that this range doesn’t do better than my old Viking 36” gas range. Lastly, I love the safety . I will never accidentally leave a burner on. Even if a pet or child touches the cooktop, there aren’t going to be crazy burns. The safety of induction is why I made the switch but I’m happy to report that it’s fun to cook on as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frigidaire Induction Oven [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We did considerable research and this oven continued to be at the top of the list. We’ve had it for a few months now and it has been fantastic. We weren’t sure house the transition from gas to electric would go, but it’s been seamless. Cooks evenly, quickly and better for all. Highly recommended if you are considering.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great just one question [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The control you have with Induction is precise. One question: Is it normal to get a shock from the area just above the nozzles when you lean up against it?
Date published: 2023-12-01
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Steep Learning Curve, but works well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The way the controls work on this range are not 100% intuitive. The "push this, turn that, then come back and push this again" type of steps to simply turn on the oven can be frustrating when trying to teach several generations of people how to use it. We've still not been able to figure out how to get the "Bridge" function to work on the Cooktop. That said, the range looks good, and once turned on correctly has operated as expected. Learning how to use Induction has been fun and it's super impressive to see how quickly it all works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this range! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A good looking range with lots of features. I'm still learning how to use it. The induction cooking is fast, which is so nice. I made pasta and I think the pasta tasted better because of the intensity of the boiling water. Have used the conventional oven, but haven't tried the convection yet. The knobs on the front are easy to bump and turn on. Sometimes it isn't straightforward on the oven temp vs. setting the clock (too many clicks).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Induction Range [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So are so good!! We like our induction stove top and it heats up nicely. We have not used the oven as of yet, but we are looking forward to see how it works for baking bread and cooking meats. We will keep you up to date.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New way of cooking/baking [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Induction cooking is new to me. Definitely a learning experience. Still learning the layout/control functions. I like the freestanding design of this range as it is accessible for cleaning under it without moving the range. My instruction manual is always handy to refer to when needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This induction range is awesome, huge and expensive looking. We did a lot of research between the Bosch, Electrolux and fridgidaire 36 induction and fridgidaire was the top choice in design, cost and functionality. The only think preventing a 5th star at this time is my learning curve but we anticipate having it down soon. Food cooks well, water boils in an instant and I don’t have to worry about our teens catching their sleeves on fire like I did with our gas range. It’s nice to do something for the environment and possibly our health too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the range, but already have a problem. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing cooking experience, easy to use, beautiful to look at, I wish I could give it a 5star review. But I already have an error code that requires cutting power to it. And 2 burners have never worked properly, they only turned on on the second attempt, which might be linked to the error code . I will call the store on Monday, will try to update my review after servicing . It might be an easy fix or the beginning of a headache.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Choose Wisely [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: Very well designed and constructed Range heats up quickly Easy to clean cooking surface Nice looking unit Cons: Difficult user interface for oven: Requires two knobs and a button to operate, and the instructions for using the BRIDGE function are complex. Using the Two Burner BRIDGE function is comparable to Indiana Jones attempting to grab the golden idol. Here are the instructions. 1. Press and hold turn the front/rear left or right knobs counterclockwise to the A-B positions (a short beep will be emitted.) 2. Release the knobs. 3. Return the front left/rear right knob to the OFF position, then promptly press and turn the rear left or the front right cooking zone knobs until you reach power level 9 (a long beep will be emitted0). Now both cooking zone displays shows level 0 and flashing red dots appear on all displays. The bridge function is now activated. 4. You can control both the linked zones using the front left or rear right cooking zone knobs. There is no way to turn on the oven light without opening the door: This is a major inconvenience, especially when cooking delicate dishes or checking on food in the dark. Overall: This range is well-designed and constructed, but the difficult user interface for the oven and the lack of a way to turn on the oven light without opening the door are major drawbacks. I would only recommend this range to cooks who are comfortable with complex user interfaces and don't mind opening the oven door to turn on the light. Recommendation: If you are looking for an electric range with a Two Burner BRIDGE function, I recommend that you look for a different model with a more user-friendly interface and a way to turn on the oven light without opening the door.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You better hope it doesn't break [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main control board is broken and there are no replacement parts available. I have been without a range for 2 months now.
