love this watch - it offers many useable features - wish the Garmin watch bands were not so expensive and the Iron Grit watch face, included with the watch, should be included in Connect IQ for easier programming

Love it! Superior to the Forerunner 970. Battery life and metrics are solid. Built in strobe light is epic for early morning runs. Quite accurate on distance tracking while indoor lap swimming

Upgraded from Epix Gen 2 a few months ago. There is not one thing I don't like about the fenix 8 all the way down to the flashlight. Great job with all Garmin products.

Outstanding, I definitely prefer mips for the always on display, and solar for the insane battery life. Does everything I need in an outdoor fitness watch , just missing a microphone on the keyboard for voice to text response on Android. I ended up keeping the 51mm solar fire the bigger screen

My new favorite garmin
I’ve been wearing the Garmin Fenix 8 for a short time now, and it’s easily become my new favorite watch. Coming from the Fenix 7 Pro, I wasn’t sure how much of a difference I’d notice—but wow, Garmin really stepped it up.
First off, I absolutely love how it looks. The design feels refined but still rugged, with that signature Fenix toughness. It has a bold, premium presence on the wrist without feeling over-the-top. The build quality is exactly what you’d expect—solid, durable, and ready for anything. Whether I’m working out, outdoors, or just going about my day, it feels like it can handle it all without a second thought.
The screen is what really surprised me. It looks and feels bigger compared to the Fenix 7 Pro, and that extra real estate makes a noticeable difference. Everything is easier to read at a glance—stats, maps, notifications—you name it. It just feels more immersive and polished.
Performance-wise, it’s fast, responsive, and packed with features. Garmin continues to nail the balance between advanced training tools and everyday smartwatch functionality. But honestly, what makes this watch stand out to me is how it brings everything together—durability, style, and usability—in one clean package.
If you’re coming from a Fenix 7 Pro and wondering if it’s worth the upgrade, I’d say yes. The Fenix 8 feels like a true evolution, and for me, it’s hands down my favorite Garmin yet.

Love my Fenix 8 47mm!
Bought my watch a couple weeks ago and I love it. Switched from Apple ultra 2, and it’s the best decision I’ve made. Just on the battery alone, it’s worth it IMO. I also switched to keep me accountable. Joined a garmin running plan and been on track.

what an update!
i have been a garmin user since many years in different devices. I up graded to the 8 amoled after my fenix 6 died. The features of the 8 are very well tuned, weight is great and the measurements on physicallity are way better than older models. Recomendations for work out are in tune with the actual data put in from years and the design of interface to track in the field is comfortable to read. keep it up!

Awesome features!
I had a Fenix 5 which I purchased several years ago. Decided to upgrade when I found out I could use my HSA funds. This watch is a definite upgrade from my old one. The screen/display is amazing! Much crisper than my old one. The sensors are much improved. I had to use a chest heart rate monitor to get accurate readings with strength training exercises with the old one. This one is spot on! Logging workouts on the watch is much improved as well. Overall I love this watch! I recommend Garmin watch’s to everyone that is looking for an exercise focused watch/device. I even tried the whoop device but after 3 faulty devices sent to me in a row, none of them would charge, I canceled it. Their build quality is horrible. And it doesn’t tell time lol. Garmin is the best, hands down!!

So much to do I can't figure it all out!
I have had the Fenix 8 47" for a bit over a month. I have been using it for goldong, walks and strength workouts. I can't wait to go hiking and running with this watch. It does everything! The memory storage is unreal. The light on the watch is a nice extra. I have used it several times at hotels and outdoors in the dark. The battery lasts about 15 days in watch mode. Pure awesome!

Holy Cow the features!!
I just upgraded to the Garmin fÄ“nix® 8, and let’s be honest: I am now wearing a supercomputer on my wrist that is roughly 400% smarter than I am.
The Good News: The AMOLED screen is so crisp I can see my stress levels rising in 4K during the Saturday morning rush. I used the built-in flashlight last night and accidentally guided a commercial flight into Grand Rapids.
The Reality: This watch is built for people who climb Everest and skydive into volcanoes. Meanwhile, it just sent me a notification that my "Expedition to the Service Department" was a personal best.
I will likely use 4 of the 1.2 million features it offers, but if you need someone to track their sleep quality while simultaneously navigating via satellite through a blizzard... I’m your guy.
Now, if I can just figure out how to tell what time it is, I’ll be all set.

Fantastic Display and Features
I haven't had time to explore all the features and widgets since there are so many, but the Amoled scree and the touch screen are a huge improvement from my last Fenix. The watch is great and I would highly recommend it.

Apple update helped!
Microphone on watch did not communicate with my iPhone 17 - that is until the most recent update by apple. Now it works great. Loving my fenix more as I get more familiar with the logic to navigate functions

Focus on Performance and Size
The Fenix 8 51mm is a beast. I was looking for a robust watch that didn't feel 'small' on my wrist, and this size is perfect. The screen real estate is massive, making maps and data screens incredibly easy to read. The Silver bezel paired with the Orange bands looks incredible—sporty yet sophisticated. Battery life is unbeatable, and the build quality is top-notch. Truly the king of adventure watches.

Great watch, but had issue w/ Red screen
Got this watch to upgrade my Fenix 6, which was a great watch. Had for about 6 months then screen went all red. Called Support and went through a series of steps to see if it was a setting or soft ware issue. They determined it was a had wear issue and replaced watch, which is currently working great. Would buy again as great watch.

Probably the best smartwatch you can buy!
I upgraded from a Fenix 6 that I had purchased in 2020. The Fenix 8 AMOLED is an absolutely amazing piece of tech, even in comparison to the F6. I was always underwhelmed by the display of the Fenix 6, as all of the advertised screenshots and downloadable watch faces always looked so much brighter and had more contrast than the screen actually had. The Fenix 6, although amazingly durable, was just OK from the context of visualizations. The Fenix 8 display is what I wanted the 6 to be; bright and easy to read at a glance.
Battery life is improved by about 2 days (16 days on F8, 14 days on F6), and I keep the screen LED’s off and only turn on with “gesture”, meaning that the screen is off (black) until I move my wrist to look at it, then it lights up for 8 seconds. I believe this improves the battery life by even more. I’ve had the watch for about a week now, and it says it has 9 days left before needing a recharge. Of course, if I use it to track my hikes or bike rides, that amount of accurate tracking will use more battery. But just wearing it barely uses battery life.
I got the Orange Spark this time (F6 was Black), I always liked the orange accents and titanium grey bezel…matches a lot of my personal hiking gear.
I opted to get the 47mm watch, same a my old F6. I felt that the 51mm size was way too big. The screen is the same size, but the bezel is 2mm wider and holds a slightly larger battery (24 days I think?) I find that the 47mm size is perfect for my medium-sized wrist and arm.
I actually tried an Apple Watch Series 10 earlier this year, and I absolutely hated it. I found the Apple Watch to be nothing more than having a 2nd iPhone strapped to your wrist. I had to go back to a Garmin…
With the Garmin Connect app, I was able to sync the new F8 with all my old F6 data, so no lost time.

What a great product!!
I upgraded from a Forerunner 255 and I have no regrets. This watch is extremely functional, the battery life is exceptional and I can’t wait to use it for more adventures.
