Love this watch, best value in price and features.
I previously owed the Forerunner 945 and loved all the features it had. The only downside (IMO) was the display resolution but that has been greatly upgraded in the Forerunner 970. Not only that it is also touchscreen, so you get both of both worlds. All buttons to use when the touchscreen is not an option and using the touchscreen when needed. The resolution is no nice too! It would be nice if Gamin added options to have a gif as a background though.
Easy to navigate once you play with the settings and customization is endless.

Love this watch!
This watch has everything I want/need! I looked at this watch for a couple months then finally upgraded from a Forerunner 245 that I had for six years, so I anticipate keeping this one for quite a while. Great purchase no regrets. The Garmin Coach is one of the features I love the most, I set a goal and it gives me a running and workout plan to get there right on my wrist.

Great screen and features
The watch is great and there's so much it can do - just need to work with it some more as I've only had it for 2 weeks but it's great to see a recap of a workout and also recommends when you should recover.

Huge Upgrade from Apple Watch!
Absolutely amazed! I was a huge Apple Watch user prior to making the switch. Coming from the Apple Watch Ultra 2, I can say this is a huugee upgrade!
For starters, the battery life is crazy, I've had the watch for over 3 weeks and the only charging I've done was placing the watch briefly on the charger during morning / evening showers. The battery life has not dropped below 80% that entire time.
The garmin health tracking is phenomenal, I absolutely love the Garmin Connect app for displaying data captured by the watch. I'm not a huge health buff but I appreciate the way it manages to capture all the same data points as the Apple watch without compromising battery drain.
My only complaint thus far is that Garmin Pay needs to step up it's game in getting more banks on board. It won't do any SoFi cards or Citi cards which is very surprising given the shear cardholder volume those banks carry.
All in all, I can confidently say that I won't be returning to the Apple Watch after picking up this beast of a tool.

LOVE MY GARMIN
Switched from Apple watch 11 to this 3 weeks ago and love everything about it. Flashlight, battery life, and fitness tracking are so superior. The vibration on the alarm is better and i still get text and phone notification which is all i need for a watch. Not having to charge it every day is actually awesome much bigger deal that i thought it’d be and the interface is better since everything’s integrated and you don’t have to bounce through different apps like on the apple watch. The buttons are great to and garmin pay works just as well as apple pay.

Excellent features
I really love my Forerunners 970. Mainly the flashlight. Because I run super early in the morning while still dark, that flashlight keeps me visible from the cars.

Love the Forerunner series
I tried this watch out and really liked the display and the features. Only suggestion I would make is to add LTE to a model as some of us prefer to run without our phones. Garmin, in my opinion, makes the very best wearable watches for runners or those with active lifestyles

Amazing upgrades!
Such an amazing product! I upgraded from the Epix Gen 2 and the difference is night and day. The battery life is incredible, the flashlight comes in handy all of the time, and it takes phone calls now! Not to mention the GPS is still amazing as per usual.

Buy this watch now!
I absolutely love this watch! I feel like a new runner all over again. I was using the FENIX 7 for a few years, and I loved it, but this watch absolutely blows it away. I look forward to the next run every day.

loving this watch.
I am very happy with the trade I made for my forerunner 955 to 970. I like how the colors for the 970 are more vibrant, the symbols are a little more distinguishable, the addition of many apps like the ECG, notes, messenger, and call. I have two small kids and in the middle of the night, the light on my watch was just not bright enough and turning my wrist while holding a baby is pretty touch by I feel as though the location and addition of an actual flashlight was so clutch.

Great features. Easy to use. Durable
I’ve been wearing my Garmin Forerunner 970 for just over two weeks now. I am highly satisfied with my purchase. My watch is very durable and easy to use. I use it to track my CrossFit work outs and my runs for marathon training. I’m hoping to get into triathlons in the future and be able to use my watch for that as well. I’ve got my husband talked into making the switch from Apple Ultra to the forerunner as well. He is impressed.

Lightweight with Outstanding Performance
Since 2018, I’ve used the Phoenix 5X, Enduro 1, and Epix, and now I’ve purchased the Forerunner 970. What I love most is how incredibly lightweight it is. Despite being so light, it offers a wide range of features. The AMOLED display on the Epix already felt like a whole new world, but now the functions are so diverse that I sometimes don’t even know where to start. I hope the durability continues to improve compared to the previous 9 series. Thank you!

Made the switch from my 7 year old Apple Watch to the Forerunner 970, primarily for extended battery life on backcountry trips. So far, the watch has been great for extended activity tracking. Had some minor troubleshooting at the start, and there’s definitely some drawbacks of pairing it with Apple products, but overall the watch functions as I hoped it would and is fantastic when it comes to training insights and activity tracking.

Garmin the King
I switched from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Forerunner 970 for better tracking of fitness levels, sleep scores, heart rate, and pulse ox. I'd known for a while that Garmin was king in this space, and I'm finally seeing why. This watch is incredible. After a few days of adjusting to the new interface (coming from Apple), I'm confident it will continue to exceed my expectations. Great job, Garmin! Highly recommend.
