Interior storage
The fact that it is counter depth makes it smaller inside, but everything is clearly visible when you look inside. So far, no forgotten leftovers turned to science experiments! I really like the water dispenser inside the fridge. It makes the outside less cluttered.
Like some other reviewers, I had to adjust the refrigerator temperature up to 40 degrees, because tender vegetables were freezing. The ice maker works exceptionally fast, very impressed!
My biggest con is the edge detail on the glass shelving. The metal edges are sharp and catch cleaning cloths. The back edge of the shelves leave a huge gap to the back wall of the refrigerator box, wasting valuable space.
Great refrigerator for a small family or someone who has an extra refrigerator.

Easy to Install
The trim kit is easy to install with the help of a handyman.
It is is good match for the microwave.
However, it was a replacement part. The first kit shipped had a blemish defect.
The big box store sent a replacement. Great store to deal with as a customer.

Nice Features
Overall, the look is nice for this trim package however it is made of plastic with Stainless Steel laminate. This is a knock on the replacement of my last GE Microwave as it’s trim was actual stainless steel which couldn’t be used with the new microwave. I’m sure this was a marketing decision to help give more sales for built in systems.
Finally, installation took a few hours and I would recommend the base be level prior to placing the microwave with base in it slots. I feel this made it easier than shimming after installation.

How can anyone expect to purchase the right kits when the dimensions are missing and it doesn’t tell you which microwaves are built to fit the kit? I know the inside dimensions and how much I want the outer part of the kit to extend past the cutout but still can’t possibly make a good decision on which product fits.
How ironic is it that ‘Nicknames’ like Frustrated, very Frustrated and extremely Frustrated are already taken to submit a review. Should tell you all you need to know.

Pricy trim for a regular mcrowave
Way too expensive for a few sheet metal parts and a plastic trim. The microwave is just ordinary so piling on a lot of cost for the trim makes the overall product not worth it.

Misses the Point of being a Trim Kit
I purchases this trim kit for the PEM31SFSS GE microwave to replace our old GE. The trim kit is subpar to the prior as there is about a quarter inch gap around the entire microwave. We have white cabinets so it becomes very noticeable. Trim kits should be flush to their products, not provide gaps. Also, there are air flow cutouts on the top and bottom that are about half inch wide, so anything can fall down into the microwave cavity - at least put some slats in there! Poorly designed product. Currently debating whether to return both the microwave and the kit because of the poor fitting trim kit. Whoever says this kit is a perfect fit has no attention to detail. I attached a pic of the old and new to show how this kit fits versus how it should fit.

This trim kit is the worst I have seen from GE.The installation was done by professional cabinet people. The face plate is plastic not stainless steel. The fit is horrible. There are HUGE gaps all around. The holding screws are visible from the side. We ripped it out and built a custom wood unit.

Terrible Fit, horrible Instructions
The trim kit has a lot of play in it which leaves a decent space around the entire microwave. I had an older model and the trim kit fit like a glove. Forget about calling GE unless you have hours to wait on the phone. The instructions might as well have not been included because they are no help

Disappointing at best
While the look of this trim kit with its microwave is nice, the directions for installing it are vague and lacking in detail. The cabinet opening it recommends for the microwave is too big, leaving a gap of approx. 2 inches at the top and about an inch on the sides. Be sure to measure for the opening before you cut
out a space for your oven, or you’ll have to “close down the space” to have wood to screw the trim kit to! I really wish Ge would review and fix this issue with its directions. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they are have experience with building because it is extremely frustrating to install this trim kit and it shouldn’t be.

No clue how to install the face plate flush
The installation instructions are too generic, and don't provide any clue as to how you are supposed to drill in the mounting screws when the unit is flush with the cabinet. (It has to be flush, or you would expose the ugly black plastic top, bottom, and sides.) Not sure how I'm supposed to get the screw in when the face fits tight to the opening.

Too wide compared to previous model!
GE used to make the JEM31SF001 microwave with a trim kit that was 16.5" high by 26 1/4" wide on the outside, and it was made of metal and had ventilation slots. Zillions of homeowners used this unit to build in their microwave into an upper cabinet. Now the units are failing, and although they have a similar but lower powered microwave for this application this trim kit DOES NOT FIT those openings. Height is OK but it is too wide by 1/2", causing it to run over the doors of adjacent cabinets. Hence it is unusable as a replacement.

PC Richards has many other options for GEmicrowaves. This was a replacement for an older GE profile microwave the new one is horrible and this trim kit is all plastic and scratched immediately after installment. Not worth the price I would suggest a different kit and microwave than this!
