Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance Great performance very pleased with how the vent performs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great. Love my new downdraft. So simple to operate and more power than my previous one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! Works great. Love that it has easy adjustable air dial and quickly stowed out of the way when not in use. It’s quieter than my previous over stove hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kitchen Revival No surprise to me when my new downdraft stovetop vent performed as expected if not better than expected. The new device replaced a 20 yr. plus old down draft vent which was paired with a black GE stovetop. Changed stovetop to brushed stainless GE Cafe Stove top and decided to replace vent at the same time and we are astounded with performance and cooking center's beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek downdraft and so easy to use. Looks great! Works great! I like it a lot. Great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vent! I purchase this model to replace another GE model which is end of life. The new model works great! I am very happy with the machine so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent downdraft This sleekly designed downdraft goes well with our new induction cooktop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient and Quiet Replacing a 20-year old GE downdraft ... although it still worked, a newer model was selected to go along with a complete redesign of our kitchen ... as long as we were replacing the cooktop might as well get the latest downdraft

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It seems to do the job It creates a good suction and effectively sucks in steam.
Date published: 2024-02-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Works well. A little loud. The top position of the on/off is a little inconvenient. My prior downdraft was controlled by the cooktop area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and glad it end up fitting I was replacing my older GE downdraft system with new one. Worried that it wouldn't fit, but the installation person after a couple of sawing and heavy maneuvering go to fit. Not for a novice handy man to install. Even if GE provides a guarantee on fitting if you are replacing your GE appliances with GE appliances, not always a clear match.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I hope this one lasts Last one didn’t get much use and stopped working this one looks better

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate I'm not really unhappy with it, I just don't use it very much. Because the fan height is pretty low, it doesn't always draw off all the steams/cooking output very well. I do like the controls and the fact that there's no mfr id on the part that's showing on the countertop - fits in nicely with my Cafe cooktop. I could have purchased much more expensive models from other manufacturers that gave me better height/draw, but for the money this was a good fit. I was replacing another similar unit that was 20+ years old from Thermador (combo cooktop/vent fan) so it was pretty much apples to apples.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mediocre Wasn’t a perfect fit and not happy GE didn’t have the product in white.
Date published: 2023-03-23
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the look - but could be more user friendly Overall fan does the job. The fan control switch is hard to turn if you have large fingers and can br hard to reach if your arms are short. The removable grease filters are difficult to remove for cleaning. This is my second GE downdraft and I’m surprised the functional design isn’t better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Downward draft vent In less than 3 months I'm having difficulties with the motor.
Date published: 2023-03-10
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Downdraft vent system Loud, inefficient and broke after 1 Month…doesn’t vent well at all
Date published: 2022-12-22
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality This is.a replacement of an older model. This one is poor quality. The stainless top trim is barely attached to the top of the vent. Very surprised as all the previous GE appliances were very durable.
Date published: 2024-02-02
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Downdraft Same design as the 20 yr old one we replaced. We went with it since we don't use it that often, was less expensive, and the fan didn't telescope as high as others. That said, probably a mistake. Looks cheap next to our Monogram cooktop and doesn't mount flush. Poor manufacturing with hardly a straight edge to it.
Date published: 2023-05-19
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Noisy Very noisy … won’t use much …except for very smoky measles.. works though
Date published: 2022-02-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Design This is the second telescopic downdraft that will not go down once the button is pressed.
Date published: 2023-07-31
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Downdraft Tech ordered and it doesn’t fit. Called GE and after 4 hours on the phone…. NOTHING Someone was supposed to contact me to coordinate pick up and credit. Finally recd an email saying I have to call again. Absolutely rediculous .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor manufacturing quality control Poor design and manufacturing. We’re on the third unit and this one still isn’t right either. Issues are not with performance, but rather “fit and finish”. Poor design of how the unit covers the hole in the countertop.
Date published: 2023-05-31
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly built Poor built quality and delivered with faulty telescopic downdraft switch. Unit will not stop downdraft operation
Date published: 2023-03-28
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Poor quality, I’ve already purchased a extended warranty after a month. I doubt this product will last very long. Inferior quality

Is this a recirculating unit? Does it need to be vented outside?
