Where has this ice maker been all my life?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE!!! this product. This has become a daily staple in my household. It creates ice fast, with the best texture nugget ice. It is very easy to clean and sanitize through the designated cleaning modes, and holds quite a bit of ice so you’re not refilling it all day.

Sleek design, everyday elevated ice quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using it for a week now. Definitely a heavier and bigger size. Very sleek design, elevate your space. Doesn’t have loud noise compared to the normal countertop ice machine. I usually am very strict with the quality of water and ice intake, so I’m glad that this has been my ultimate ice maker WITH water filter that doesn’t rust. Have different light mode and can connect through wifi. Use the same filter as the coffee machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ultra Nugget Ice Maker for a few weeks , I’ve really happy with it . The setup was simple , and the machine has a sleek , modern look that fits nicely in the kitchen. I also like the built in light, which gives it a nice premium touch. Operation is easy and straightforward, and adding water is simple and convenient. You can either connect it directly to a water line using a hose , or simply fill the water reservoir manually. It makes great nuggets ice and has been a fun addition to our everyday drinks.

A splurge product we absolutely love!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ultra Nugget ice maker has quickly become one of our favorite additions to the kitchen. We absolutely love it! For an appliance at this price point, I had high expectations and it’s lived up to them!
Set up was surprisingly simple and straightforward and it started producing ice quickly. The nugget ice is exactly what I was hoping for- soft, chewable, and consistently great. It also produces ice fast enough to keep up with regular use in our household, which was one of my biggest questions before trying it.
I also really appreciate how manageable the maintenance is. Cleaning, sanitizing and descaling are all straightforward processes, which is especially important for an appliance that deals with water and gets used frequently. I was initially concerned that upkeep might feel like a chore, but it’s been much easier than expected.
The Opal 2.0 is definitely an investment and it takes up a decent amount of counter space, so those are both things I would consider before purchasing. If you are someone that genuinely loves nugget ice and will use it regularly- it’s definitely worth the investment!
Overall, this feels like a premium appliance rather than a novelty kitchen gadget. It’s easy to use, produces ice quickly and has been simple to maintain. We are extremely happy with it!

A stylish, easy-to-use ice maker that produces perfect nugget ice in just 10 minutes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice maker begins producing ice in about 10 minutes. The nugget size works perfectly for different drinks and helps chill them very quickly. I especially appreciate the magnetic scoop, which attaches neatly to the side and is always easy to reach.The machine feels solid and stable, while still being manageable to move when needed. Operation is simple, and the SmartHQ app makes it convenient to start ice production remotely and shop for filters or accessories.It also pairs perfectly with the GE Profile Brewpal Coffee Maker designed for Opal. Together, the two appliances created a stylish and practical coffee station in our home for preparing both hot and iced coffee.One detail I could not locate in the package was the reservoir side clip referenced in the manual. I would also love to see adjustable ice sizes or an additional snow-style ice mode in the future.Overall, it is a convenient, attractive, and useful appliance for everyday drinks.

Fun addition to my kitchen

Amazing Nugget Ice Maker

It makes ice so quickly, so if I ever forget to refill the tank, I still have ice 10 minutes later! The nugget ice is perfectly crunchy and the best for soda and coffee drinks! It’s a great addition to my drink bar in the dining room, providing a more upscale experience for hosting & making me feel fancy every time I get some ice for my regular drinks. I can see this saving me money on fun drinks as well because now I really can make a perfect fun drink at home!

This once surprisingly hold quite a bit of ice without it melting. I love that it’s right on the counter so it’s convenient to grab ice whenever I need it. It’s so easy to fill up the water and make ice. I love that it’s compatible with the coffee brewpal machine. One thing to note it’s EXTREMELY heavy. You will need someone to help you lift it.

Love Having Nugget Ice at Home!

The Wi-Fi feature is also really convenient because I can control and monitor it from my phone. I also like that it comes with a scale-inhibiting filter, which helps keep the machine cleaner and makes maintenance easier. It’s easy to use, looks great on the counter, and the ice scoop is a nice bonus. Overall, it’s been a great addition for making refreshing drinks at home!

Much better than freezer ice!!
Solid ice machine. Perfect size for our family of four. We use distilled water and the ice always tastes great. The machine routinely requests that you sanitize and descale, so that gets a little old. Not hard to do just takes some time. You will need to purchase extra filters and descaling powder from GE.

Best possible ice you can have at home.
We waited a long time for this ice maker to come through development and into production and it was well worth the wait. The quality of the ice made with this product is absolutely outstanding. This is the second unit we’ve owned as our original one died after 4 years of continuous service. We now can’t live without one and our whole family thoroughly enjoys it daily.

Great ice maker
makes ice very quickly. i wish it had a setting for cubed but it is an amazing ice maker and it is more quest then alot of the other options ive had before. the self cleaning is very good as el and the ice is very consistent nothing to big or small. it is a bit big the size of it for my bar but we mad it work.

Great chewable ice!
This is my second opal ice maker, the first one was destroyed along with my house by a tornado. I really love my opal ice maker! Makes the best chewable ice, better than Sonic's ice. I noticed my second unit has some improvements, glad to see them. The only negative I can say is if you don't have counter space to place it by a sink to drain it, be prepared to pick it up, it's a bit heavy.

Transformational!
I’m addicted to my ge nugget icemaker! Use it everyday and LOVE it. First saw at a friend’s home and immediately bought one for my place as soon as I came home. It’s wonderful—quiet, easy, delicious ice improves every beverage (including iced coffee!), great looking, A+ on all counts. Capacity is plentiful for small family or singles.

GE Opal produces delicious nugget ice faster than any other machine I’ve used. While it looks sleek on the counter and boasts an impressive storage capacity, that comes at the cost of a sizable portion of your countertop. You’ll definitely hear it working, but it makes more of a steady hum that is not at all distracting. If you’re looking for a premium machine that delivers the best ice and lots of it, this is your machine.

Restaurant Quality Ice Nuggets at Home!

Excited to start using this ice maker

In heaven!
I bought this icemaker after one year of frustration with the cheap one I had previously. I cannot even begin to say how grateful I am. Easy to install and run. Super quiet. Generates amazing ice. And somehow the ice doesn’t seem to melt as fast in the container, so the compressor goes on far less often than my old one. I’m in heaven!
