BEST GOURMET ICE EVER!!
THIS IS THE BEST ICE MACHINE I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE ICE IS FABULOUS NICE AND SMALL AND VERY EASY ON THE TEETH TO BITE INTO. THE FILTER SYSTEM IS GREAT WITH NO AFTER TASTE IN THE ICE. QUIET MACHINE AND EASY TO INSTALL. I GIVE THIS A 5 STARS!

Outstanding Unit With A Few Issues
The Good:
- Firstly, the unit makes outstanding nugget ice...really great. This one point makes this unit a top of the line unit for me, and all other factors are not as important.
- The design features are well done. The interior light is good. The unit has great capacity, the door has a magnetic sealed closure with no latch to engage when closing. Intuitive controls and easily accessed.
- Installing the pump to deal with the melt that is generated was straightforward.
- The unit is not as deep as others on the market. I initially ordered a different icemaker only to find that due to the depth of the unit, the drain hose and inlet were cramped. This unit provides a couple of inches for hose management in the back.
The not Good:
- Unit is expensive to begin with, and the addons are also expensive. I understand that this unit is a quality unit, but the cost is really too high, GE.
- Probably an unreasonable ask, but the unit doesn't have a built-in chiller to keep ice from melting. I see that this is a design limitation that is shared by other under-counter ice makers. Still, I would think the designers would be able to figure out a way to make a unit with a built-in freezer; however, I don't really see it in other undercounter units, only for standalone bigger units, so maybe this is too much to expect.
- Adding the custom door was difficult. The trim pieces didn't want to be removed and reinstalled after screwing the door on.
- In addition to the adjustable feet, I think the unit should also come with some low profile rollers to allow for easy sliding in of the unit under the counter - sure would make install and maintenance easier. As it is, especially in tight spaces, pushing the unit in can be difficult -- I ended up removing the feet and added some magic sliders.

Better than Sonic!
I am completely delighted with our new GE ice maker - this smooth operator makes the perfect nugget ice! It is such a pleasure to have this appliance in our kitchen; the stainless steel door with its heavy duty handle is a beauty! We can’t recommend this ice maker highly enough - thank you, GE!

Great and Quiet Icemaker
Makes great ice. Very quiet operation and reasonably easy to install. Ours is install inside a pantry cabinet. It does generate some heat while making ice but we installed a some vent fan in the side of the cabinet, problem solved! We use our icemaker several times a day and love it.

Best ice maker of all time
I’m beyond impressed with my new ice maker. I have purchased every ice machine around my area yes even a ge opal. But this ice machine is hands down the best one ever for real. I don’t even go to sonic anymore.?and I ordered any where from 2 to 4 bags a day. Now I fill my thermos and bring my own ice from home everywhere I go.

WORKS LIKE A DREAM
I had this ice maker installed 5 weeks ago. It started making ice as soon as installed without issue. It has easily kept up with our ice needs which has been incredible. Everyone loves the nugget style ice - think Sonic ice. I orginally bought to have a custom door installed on front but change my mind. I installed the Cafe stainless steel door front with a copper accent. LOVE IT! Cafe is also a GE product and door fronts are interchangeable. The machine is very quiet. Strongly recommend this ice maker at this point.
