Heats fast and looks great!
This stovetop heats quickly and looks nice in my island. It’s fairly easy to keep clean. You can take the bigger knobs off to clean but the smaller ones don’t detach. The downdraft vent isn’t super powerful but it keeps the steam from being overwhelming.

Beautiful Dwndraft Coocktop
Excellent downdraft cooktop. I searched for a replacement for our nearly 30-year-old JennAire downdraft. I initially was going to go back with a new JennAire, but the GE model had all the features we wanted at a much cheaper price. So far, we have zero complaints. My son and I removed the old cooktop and installed the new GE in a little more than an hour. I really like the multi-speed fan and the control lockout feature. Fan is quiet and powerful.

Heats faster and hotter than older model.
I was so happy to see this downdraft model return. I cracked the glass on my older one several years ago and it was only a matter of time before the burner quit working. I was afraid I would have to remodel my kitchen to add ventilation. The new version is very similar to the old one, but heats up faster and hotter than the old one.

Such a major improvement over our old unit
We LOVE this new cooktop. We replaced a 21-year old cooktop that has been driving my crazy for years. The old top had removable units for the glass top to be swapped out as a grill. It too was a downdraft model, but the framing of the inserts restricted the size of pots that could be placed on the top due to metal framing around the glass. This new model is a downdraft cooktop, but it is clean and has no edges. I can now place large soup pots on this one without having an edge to prevent the pot from making clean contact with the top. The old top took forever to bring a pot to boil, and without a lid in place, would sometimes not keeping a rolling boil going. The Power Boil feature really helps get a large stock pot boiling much more quickly than the old top, and they keep the rolling boil going without a lid..

Nice replacement for the older downdraft cooktop
I was excited GE finally had a replacement for the downdraft cooktop! I dropped a jar on my previous version, cracking the glass. Although it worked for several years I was aware it would eventually fail. The new version has the same features but the controls are a bit different. The new version heats up so much faster and the settings are a higher temperature than the older version. For example, “5” used to be medium, but “3” is closer to medium now. Just need to adjust to the new one.

The cooktop is very sleek and attractive. I love how quickly the burners heat up and the 3 speeds of the fan. My only concern so far is how easily smears show. I've been using Weiman Glass Cook Top Cleaner & Polish and a paper towel. What do you recommend?

Clean, simple, effective and good looking.
This replace an older KitchenAid unit that only partially worked. This is a huge upgrade. It heats well, is very predictable and simple to use. We had to have a downdraft electric range based on how the house was built and it is hard to find units to select from. This was a great option/choice.

Works very well, easy to use and looks great.
Cooktop was a replacement for a Kitchen Aid unit that only worked partially. This cooktop is excellent. It heats predictably and efficiently and is easy to use. The downdraft vent is a necessity in our kitchen and it is nice to have a choice. We installed this just before Thanksgiving and it has been outstanding upgrade. More efficient layout, more room, even heating, griddle option, and the Power Boil is very quick!
