Heavy and High Quality
Wow! I couldn't believe how heavy this was when I picked up the box. I have seen a few reviews where people have cut the back of the block off to make it fit better on a counter. I could see this as a future enhancement possibility, and am not sure if it is that long to just make sure it doesn't tip over forwards, or what. Very nice all around!

Super sharp
These knifes are light and easy to use and super sharp. Preping food had never been easier. I love the selection of knifes included in this set. My only complaint is how large the block is- it makes it tough to store and takes up so much room on my counter, I don't understand the need for it to be so long the knifes are certai by no where near as long as the block

Absolutely Stunning Knife Block and Set
I have used Henckles knives for most of my adult life and wouldn't trust any other brand. My last set has lasted me well over 10 years. I recently received this set as an upgrade to my existing ones and my first impression is how sharp they are! The weight is balanced nicely in your hand and I put them to work right away testing different textures of vegetables, bread, meat and herbs and they perform so incredibly well.
The only negative thing I have to say, is that I wish this set came with a map of which knife goes where, or perhaps if they were labeled on the blade with the matching name instead of just a code. Especially since each self sharpening slot is made specifically for the different angles and thicknesses of the varying knives. I had to search each knife's product code online to determine the name for it, as there were a handful that I was not familiar with, since my prior set was much smaller and more basic.
Once that was out of the way, it worked perfectly. The block itself is stunning and much larger than any I've ever owned. The wood grain is beautiful and compliments my kitchen nicely. I plan to have this set for many, many years to come.

I LOVE this knife set. My husband is tired of me saying how much I love this knife set every single time I use it. It's beautiful on my kitchen counter. I've never had knives so sharp. This set is very sharp and the knives cut beautifully! I love the self sharpening feature. I am extremely happy with the quality and look of the set. My only issue is with the wood block the knives go into. It is much larger than I anticipated and is within reach of children I’d counters aren’t deep.

I purchased them again!
These knives are great. I have had Henckels knives before. They developed rust spots so I stopped putting them into the dishwasher. With my new set, I wash them by hand and thoroughly dry them and return them to the block. I purchased one set of 20 knives for myself and now I am purchasing another set of 20 knives for my son. They are the best knives.
