Great fan, sleek design
Our parents have this fan and after seeing how well it kept the bugs away from the eating area, we decided to get one of our own. It was a great purchase. The fan was easy to install and looks great on our patio.

Easy to install and use.
Fan is easy to install. The wall switch make this fan kit a good option for location that are hard to access (vaulted ceiling’s, etc) compared to the traditional pull chain to adjust the fan speed.

Hunter Ceiling Fan
The Hunter Trimaran Outdoor/Indoor ceiling fan was easy to assemble. All of the parts were packaged separately and clearly labeled, which made the assembly process very easy. I have thirteen (13) ceiling fans in my home. Four (4) of the ceiling fans (all Hampton Bay fans) have been replaced with Hunter fans. The remaining nine (9) (Hampton Bay) fans will also be replaced with Hunter fans (eventually). The only ceiling fans that I install in my home are Hunter fans. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for making such a dependable ceiling fan.

A fresh look and a cool breeze
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've admired my neighbors outdoor fans for years and finally decided to get my own, especially since I know they hold up in the Las Vegas weather. I already have indoor fans by Hunter and love them so the best choice was of course Hunter again. This was just a standard fan assembly but the first time I've ever had experience with a wired control. Once assembled and powered up this fan is pretty cool. It looks great with a flat off white finish and the blades seem to be a good thick type of weather resistant material. You're able to switch the rotating direction for the seasons and it has three very quiet speeds.

nice outside fan
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this fan worked great on our patio. 52" moved a lot of air. I've seen indoor fans installed outdoord and the blades droop from the moisture. we didn't need a light but if you do, this unit does not have a built in light. a little heavy so you might want an extra set of hands for the install.

Modern Look
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Trimaran Outdoor 52 inch ceiling fan was the perfect addition to our newly renovated enclosed sun porch. This fan is very quiet even on the highest speed. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of air this fan circulates. I love the design of the blades, it makes it look more modern. It is also very easy to install.

Quiet / Easy Install / Attractive
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this fan outside on my patio yesterday and am pleased with its performance and design. The installation went relatively smoothly. Some of the initial installation steps combined multiple steps into one image, which was not ideal. However, it’s not overly complicated; you just have to look at the installed picture and take a guess.

I hope this is true after 12 months
This fan was hung three days ago on a porch that has direct exposure to sea breezes coming off of West Galveston Bay. So far there is no noticeable rust or corrosion.

Outstanding in look and function!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hunter makes excellent ceiling fans, so I had high expectations for the Hunter Trimaran Outdoor ceiling fan, and, aside from the exception of some difficult installation with the indoor switch, all my expectations were exceeded. It looks and functions flawlessly, and it is made to last.
First, the fan looks beautiful. The lines are clean, which is perfect for my modern sensibilities. It has three angular blades and a simple circular body. It is spare and utilitarian, and makes a statement of class without being gaudy or drawing undue attention. The white is uniform and pristine, and without blemish.
Functionally it is sound. I have it in a 60 inch down rod and it is steady and quiet. It doesn’t vibrate or dance, but hangs perpendicular as though perfectly weighted. It produces an ample downdraft at each of its three levels. It should be noted that there aren’t any hanging chains or other methods to control the power apart from the in wall dial that replaced my old switch.
As for the installation itself, there is where I had the most problems, though most of those were because I was hanging it from a 15 foot ceiling using a ladder, which certainly complicated the matter. All in all, frim flipping the breaker off, mounting it, and popping the breaker back in again it took my about and hour and 20 minutes. This was far longer than I expected, but most of the excess time was due to the height at which I was working. The three issues I had with the fan itself was, while I am happy with the weather sealing, it did make it more difficult to find the screw holes on the receptacles to mount the top plate. While a bit frustrating at the time, I think this is well worth it as it’s another line of safety against moisture and to prevent rattle. I would have preferred a longer grounding wire on the mounting bracket, as it made it very difficult was so little slack to work with. The biggest issue I had was with the indoor control switch (pictured). For some reason the ground wire is aligned with the screw that holds the switch to the receptacle. And because this is the case, it made it impossible to seat flush with the wall. I’m not sure if this a design flaw, or an outdated socket in my house, but it would make more sense to me if the ground wire were placed somewhere off the back so as to not get in the way.
Those minor quibbles aside, I really do love this fan for its look and sturdy, quiet function, and smart, safe design.
I do recommend!

Beautiful fan could be more functional
Good looking. Nice volume of air on 3rd speed. But speeds 1 and 2 barely turn the blades & aren't distinguishable from each other. We'll just use it on 3, but it seems silly to have 2 additional settings which are identical & nominal.

Must take fan housing apart to reverse blades
I wanted very much to like to fan, then found out you have to take the fan housing apart to reverse the directions of the blades to go with the appropriate weather/season. This is a really dumb design - most fans have either a pull string or a remote control. This is going in a loft of a barn, way up high. Not a great design.
