JBL Bar 1000 The Next Evolution of Sound Design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] JBL Bar 1000 has clear and concise sound design. The bluetooth design of the speakers allow for an easy wireless free setup. The ability to connect to wi-fi is also done with ease. The soundbar and speakers even at a low setting still pack a punch. Those looking for a complete 7.1 surround sound experience should look no further than the JBL Bar 1000.

Incredible quality, easy connectivity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sound bar is pretty impressive! I have it set up in a bedroom to use with a projector setup. The sound quality is amazing. With the subwoofer and removable side speakers positioned for surround sound, it sounds full, clean, and immersive. Connectivity options are also awesome. The app makes setup and calibration a breeze. It is Apple AirPlay compatible, so I can cast my audio to the sound bar. It couldn’t be any easier. I absolutely love it!

A big upgrade - kudos!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got the JBL Bar 1000 MK2 set up and wow — this thing delivers. The wireless rear speakers really make the surround sound pop, and setup was surprisingly quick (which I always appreciate). The bass is deep but not muddy, and voices come through super clear, even in chaotic scenes. Streaming over AirPlay and Spotify was seamless, no fuss. They even included little end caps for the soundbar when the rear speakers are detached — a nice touch to keep the setup looking clean. Only callout — the rear speakers need recharging every now and then, but honestly, totally worth it for the kind of experience it brings.

SERIOUS upgrade, finally a home theater sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow. My TV sound system just got a serious upgrade. Excellent sound and it was very easy to set up. The removable surround sound speakers are a game changer! I’ve never given into surround sound before because it always seemed too complicated, but these are so easy. Not to mention beautiful, it’s so nice to have well-designed speakers that are aesthetically pleasing. The bass is perfect too, not overpowering, just right. I am SO happy with this speaker system. Also the slick remote is a cherry on top. Easy to understand and feels good.

Sleek with great sound quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this a week ago and am amazed at the quality of sound and range. Make no mistake, this product is well built. It’s easy to see the quality in manufacturing and once hooked up, the sound quality.
The sound bar comes with two detachable surround speakers that can be charged by connecting them to the ends of the sound bar or via USB-C cables. If the detachable surround speakers need to be charged, the sound bar will flash a message reminding you to charge it. With the speakers attached, the sound bar is a whopping 4 feet long which is likely wider than your TV stand, if you’re using one. When handling the surround speakers it’s easy to tell they are not cheaply made. They feel solid and have some weight to them. JBL also added attachments for the surround speakers as well as the sound bar to give it a nice sleek look and hides the connectors (see photos). Really clever design. The one negative is that they hold a charge for maybe 10-12 days before needing to be recharged.
One thing I really like about this over the sound bar it replaced, is the many levels of audio adjustments. The old sound bar had a volume that went from too low to too loud at one level up. This one fills that sweet spot.
The remote allows you to adjust multiple setting for the subwoofer, mid range and levels to your liking. It’s easy to connect Bluetooth. Also, on the remote there is a Heart ❤️ symbol. This will change to an outdoors sound with wind, trees, leaves and a stream. Really cool if you just want some relaxing ambient sound. You can choose Forest, Rain, Ocean, Citywalk OR make your own playlist in the JBL One app!
I highly recommend that you use the JBL One app with this. It gives you a lot of control over the audio and is loaded with features. One of Broadcasting, which allows you to take the removable speakers into another room and listen to what’s playing on the soundbar.
It does come with a 60 day trial of Roon which I am not using. It requires you to set up your own server? to use and that just seems like waaay too much effort.
In closing I’d say that for someone who has the budget to spend on a higher quality sound bar, the JBL Bar 1000MK2 is a fantastic product and you won’t be disappointed.

Impressive, Immersive, and Totally Worth It
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the JBL BAR 1000MK2 for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly blown me away. The sound is powerful, rich, and incredibly immersive—especially with Dolby Atmos and the detachable wireless surround speakers. You just pull them off the bar, place them behind you, and you’ve got a true surround sound setup. No wires, no hassle. Battery life on the rear speakers is solid (around 8–10 hours for me), and they charge back up just by docking them.
Movies, games, and music all sound amazing. The 10” subwoofer packs serious punch, and dialogue is crystal clear thanks to the PureVoice feature. I also love the MultiBeam tech—it really fills the room, even if you’re off to the side.
Setup was super easy using the JBL ONE app, and the HDMI passthrough supports Dolby Vision, which is a nice bonus for my 4K setup. Plus, having Bluetooth and Wi-Fi means I can stream music whenever I want.
Overall, this system delivers premium home theater sound without the complexity. It’s got great features and sound quality, and it’s absolutely worth it.

A Step Above
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 1000MK2 is a step above when it comes to the soundbar experience. From the solid and good looking construction to the jam packed features. One thing that stood out to me and that I really enjoyed was the Pure Voice 2.0. With film studios lacking in their audio masters recently, this is a welcomed addition. It does a fantastic job of bringing out the dialogue even in the intense action sequences. On a hardware note with the detachable wireless speakers, the Panoramic Surround Sound is intuitive and an easy way to give yourself crisp surround sound in under a minute. All of these features are made even better with the deep bass offered in the 10in Wireless subwoofer.

Better than my receiver/giant speakers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent. I have a giant sound system in my family room. I wanted a bar for my bedroom, but was afraid of the quality compared to my big system. The JBL bar is better! Great size, sound, and options. I want to replace my big system with the bar now!
The 1000MK2 fits absolutely perfectly under my TV. Just luck, or by design? The set-up took about 20 minutes, and when I turned it on, my partner could only say, “WOW!” And she’s not even a big sound nerd! It’s pretty easy to link to my phone, and it sets up the surround speakers during programming at whatever location you choose. I wasn’t intending to listen to music through it, but tried streaming through it and now I’m spoiled. I decided to go with the JBL because everything JBL lasts forever (even with abuse) and JBL has never let me down. Movies, concerts, music: it’s a simple, relatively small, high tech unit that makes my big old system obsolete. I have zero regrets and would buy again without a doubt.

Impressive sound really well made and easy setup
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this sound bar on 2 different tvs and i am very impressed by the sound it puts out. I love my bass and this one delivers! It actually had some of my stuff in my display cases fall due to the loud and amazing bass it gives out.I used the digital cable on my tv in my living room and the sound was really good, then i switched to hdmi cable and using HDMI eARC port on my other tv in my bedroom and you can definitely hear the sound improvement much better and louder i believe. The only issue i have with this setup is that the sound bar seems to always turn on even though i go on my tv and settings and prioritize tv speakers only its still turns on even when i turn the soundbar off, possibly software glitch maybe with an update should fix this issue, because even if it's off and i decide to use the guide button on my directv it automatically turns it back on or switch to my firestick. Would have been nice if they included a complete guide with it, the quick guide does not help on answering any questions you have and going to the website takes you right to the quick start guide that it came with. The jbl one app is a usefull app where you can make changes on eq for example and has more useful features for some people. I own several other sound bars and so far this one is my favorite. I also like the option of disconnecting one of the speakers and use it in other rooms to hear music while its connected to the same wifi as your phone

The JBL Bar 1000 MK2 is a solid surround system
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new house isn’t compatible with my old surround sound system, which relied entirely on wired components. Not only is there a lack of well-placed electrical outlets, but we also didn’t want unsightly cables running across the den. Even more problematic was the declining WAF (Wife Approval Factor) due to the big, boxy speakers cluttering the space. The solution came in the form of the new JBL Bar 1000 MK2 surround sound system.
The JBL Bar 1000 MK2, new for 2025, offers a smart, wireless solution for immersive home theater audio. It includes a soundbar, two detachable battery-powered wireless surround speakers, and a 10-inch wireless subwoofer. With a total power output of up to 960W, the system delivers room-filling sound with minimal wiring—only the soundbar and subwoofer need to be plugged in.
Where the Bar 1000 MK2 truly excels is audio performance. It supports true Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D surround sound, creating a cinematic experience. JBL’s PureVoice 2.0 enhances dialogue clarity by automatically adjusting voice levels based on ambient sound—no more constant volume tweaking during action scenes. The system also features MultiBeam 3.0, JBL’s beamforming technology, which creates a wider soundstage even without the rear speakers attached. The MultiBeam technology is controlled using the JBL ONE App
This is a 7.1.4-channel system, with five midrange drivers and a center fabric-dome tweeter on the front of the soundbar, plus two additional side-firing tweeters. Four up-firing Dolby Atmos speakers enhance overhead effects—two in the soundbar and one in each of the detachable rears. These wireless rear speakers attach to the ends of the soundbar for charging and provide up to 10 hours of playback when fully charged. They can also be charged via micro-USB. A standout feature is Night Mode, where only the detachable speakers play sound when placed in front of the listener, muting both the soundbar and subwoofer to avoid disturbing others.
The Bar 1000 MK2 has a sleek design, with lightly beveled corners and curved ends covered in a light gray metal acoustic mesh. A hidden scrolling LED display on the front shows volume, input, power status, and battery levels of the wireless speakers—only visible when active. On top of the soundbar are four manual buttons for power, volume, and input selection.
On the back, you'll find a range of ports: power, USB Type-A, optical, RJ-45 Ethernet, HDMI OUT with eARC, and three HDMI IN ports. The USB port supports MP3 playback from external drives. The system works seamlessly with major streaming devices like Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, and Google Chromecast, and it can connect to Blu-ray players or gaming consoles as well.
JBL includes several helpful accessories: end caps for the soundbar and rear speaker enclosures (for use when the speakers are detached), L-shaped wall mounts for the soundbar, U-shaped mounts for the surrounds, and an HDMI cable. I also added my own brackets to mount the soundbar directly to the TV, although JBL provides wall-mounting hardware as well.
Setup was simple. I placed the soundbar below my 65" LED TV, where I already had power and a cable pass-through. The subwoofer went about 8 feet to the left of the soundbar, near an available outlet. The rear speakers were placed on a table behind the sofa, centered in the room. I connected the soundbar to my TV using the provided HDMI cable through the HDMI ARC ports—no need to relocate any existing cables since I didn’t have other devices using that port.
After placement, I ran the built-in sound calibration via the remote, which is compact and includes controls for power, inputs, Atmos level, volume, mute, bass, and rear speaker adjustment. Once calibrated, I tested the system using Dolby Atmos content from YouTube and Netflix. The sound was excellent, with a rich, immersive effect and precise channel separation, accurately reflecting the surround information in the source content.
Overall, if you’re looking for a truly wireless surround sound solution and want to upgrade to a Dolby Atmos system that’s easy to set up and sounds great, the JBL Bar 1000 MK2 is an excellent choice.

Great sounding and easy to install sound system.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An excellent and easy to install sound system. Plug in the hdmi cable and power cord and it's good to in a few minutes. The subwoofer connected via bluetooth immediately. Controls are quick to learn. The setup couldn't have been easier.
Sound is fantastic. Bass is deep and the movable speakers give you rich surround sound. I love you can pop off the speakers and place them wherever you want. I keep mine attached and move before starting movies or anything where i want the theater experience.

Truly Blown Away by This Soundbar!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Bar 1000Mk2 is a marvel of modern home audio equipment. I am truly blown away by the engineering, design, and sound quality of this speaker set.
PACKAGING and SETUP:
The packaging was well thought out, and very neatly designed. One box, a few styrofoam pieces, and some wrapping. It took me all of 10 minutes to completely remove everything from the box and get it ready for install. I loved how the subwoofer was packaged, super easy to lift out (it’s beefy!), cut the straps and it’s ready to shake your entire house.
The setup could not be easier. I set this up in our little humble basement theater. Mounted the bar on the wall with a couple anchor screws, plugged everything in, and it was ready to go.
DESIGN:
I love the way the bar looks, it’s pretty long with the surround speakers attached (about the same width as our 65” TV), but it looks great underneath the TV. The subwoofer is pretty large, but being wireless, you can really put it anywhere out of the way. Believe me, it will have no problem shaking the house no matter where you place it.
The dockable surround speakers is such a cool idea! For us, we leave them attached unless we are watching a movie where we really want that full surround experience. The bar sounds so ghreat whether they are in back of you or mounted though!
SOUND QUALITY:
All I can say is wow. The sound quality on this setup is absolutley insane. When I first set it up, my wife came down to check it out, and I ended up putting on an electronic dance music playlist for the next half hour. We were hypnotized by the low rumble of the subwoofer, vibrarting our bodies, and the extreme clarity of the high end. We shut off the lights and it was like we were in a real dance club. It REALLY makes well-produced music shine.
For movie sound, it’s equally as awesome. The surround setup works great. You can crank this thing, and it feels like you’re in an actual movie theater.
OVERALL:
If you are looking for an extremely high quality soundbar/surround/subwoofer setup, I cannot recommend this setup enough. I’m sitting here blasting some music while writing this review. It’s almost addicting to listen to music on it, and I love that feeling when it comes to home audio. It can be pretty rare. Seriously though, get this thing.

From the Perspective of an Audiophile
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keep in mind that there is no soundbar that will replace an AVR and separate (good) speakers when it comes to sound quality, depth, immersion, and so on. Sure, soundbars offer nice bass and clarity with near-zero hassle, wires, and effort, but it's truly worth investing in your system over time! Check out the first option under "Electronics" on JBL's site; it's an AVR and speaker + subwoofer bundle for the same price as the Bar 1000 mkII! Treat yourself to a fuller, more detailed sound with dynamics, true soundstage, imaging, and layering.
Of course, soundbars aren't all bad. They are easily a major upgrade to the average built-in TV speakers, offering, as mentioned previously, increased clarity and fantastic bass. I'm a fan of the included 10" subwoofer, which hits low and has great texture and detail. High remarks, I would say, coming from someone whose main subwoofer is a hi-fi 3ft³ servo-controlled dual-opposed 12", which cost more on its own than this 4-figure system! I prefer the sub as close to the bar as possible, at Level 2 out of 5, with a -3 applied to EQ at 125Hz and below; at higher volumes, I'll EQ it down by 7. Though I tend to come back to the app often to change the sub level and EQ for music, song to song.
Without the sub, the soundbar doesn't have much of a leg to stand on, so make sure it's connected!
I noticed that when playing content from a pause, the soundbar will take a moment to come back to playing sound. While only about a second, it can be slightly frustrating to those who hate to miss even the slightest bit of dialogue.
I've enjoyed playing with the different features, such as Night Listening. I'm not one to watch TV or movies too late (I'm one of the first in the household to head to bed). However, I definitely appreciate this functionality: the surround modules play the sound from the TV while the main bar and sub shut off. I find it best when sitting with the surround speakers in my lap or next to me (as silly as that sounds). Similarly, Broadcast lets you put the module speaker/s in your pocket (of your cargo shorts, these things aren't tiny; one surround speaker is about the length of one JBL Charge, the width of 1.3 of them, but only half the depth) and walk across the house.
As a music lover, something I appreciate very much is the inclusion of not only Chromecast, but DLNA and UPnP!! Thank you JBL and Roon! In case you're unfamiliar, it allows more direct streaming, with much less compression than Airplay or Chromecast, with greater potential data transfer than even optical S/PDIF.
This soundbar gets quite loud with the powerful amplifiers included, though do note it gets pretty harsh in the upper midrange when turned up a bit. Room-filling up to a medium-large room, it performs well. I recommend this if you're limited on space and funds, unable to accommodate JBL's receiver and bookshelf or floorstanding speakers--all the better with a killer subwoofer. Soundbars are better than ever, but "the stereo" is not dead!
