Best Fuel!
I bought a half pallet of the Kamado Joe Lump Charcoal. This charcoal provides the best consistency. Lights up easily and burns hot and burns long. Nice size chunks that provide a great smoke flavor but not overwhelming.

Big Lump Charcoal
When they say Big Block charcoal they mean it. The quality of the charcoal is great. You don’t get any of that nasty dirty smoke you get with inferior charcoal. The size of the charcoal is great for low and slow as well as high heat cooking. Great all around charcoal. Plus you can always break up super large pieces if you need smaller size for say a Joe Jr.

Buy Good Charcoal
One thing I have had to learn from trial and error is to always buy good quality charcoal. The cheap stuff is not the same. If you want consistent temp you have to get good charcoal.

Clean smoke, long lasting
Great charcoal! I was skeptical of the cost/value as I came from the traditional kettle scene. There is no doubt that KJ charcoal is a long-lasting and great tasting alternative. It's well worth the cost, and the complete burn makes clean up a breeze.

The best charcoal hands down!
Kamado Joe Big Block XL lump charcoal is by far the best charcoal I’ve ever used. It comes in both large chunks for low and slow cooking and also smaller pieces for hot and fast cooks a good variety of both. Super high quality it burns clean and hot and is easy to ignite. There is little to no sparks or popping like I’ve experienced using other lower quality charcoal. I’ve had numerous bags shipped up here to Canada and have never had any issues of damage to the bag or charcoal itself. Highly recommend!

My Clasic Joe for 3 Years
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried using several charcoal brands since owing my Classic Joe. None have matched the performance of Big Block XL Lump Charcoal. The heat is even and long lasting. I have watched the videos on the proper way to use the Big Block Charcoal and it works amazing well. Unlike several other brands, the charcoal in the bag in not all broken into small pieces which means better heating and long lasting without a lot of waste.
