Ultimate Control with the Big Konnected Joe
I received my Big Konnected Joe just over a week ago and have had multiple cooks ranging from Carne Asada, Al Pastor Chicken, Pizza and Smoked Baked Beans. The simplicity of the AFS system really convenient and the grill is up to 350 dF in 10 min. The divide and conquer system is hands down the best. The ability to install heat deflectors and grill surfaces and varying levels simplifies what would otherwise be challenging cooks if you had to move food, pieces and parts. But, the star of the show is the ultimate temperature control. A great example is the Carne Asada cook a few days ago. I installed a half moon heat deflector low with a grill grate over top; a soap stone low on the other side. I set the grill for 325 dF to reverse sear the marinated flank steak. Once the steak reached a target temp, I pulled it from the grill to rest on a rack and adjusted the temperature in the grill to 450 dF. The grill was up to temperature in minutes, much faster than the rest period I was targeting. When ready, I placed the steak on the soap stone for a minute, flipped it over for another minute and got the most gorgeous sear imaginable. I cleaned the surfaces, lowered the grill temperature down to 325 dF and continued the process with Al Pastor marinated chicken tenderloins and again, the smoke and sear were flawless. All those who tasted the foods were blown away. Again, the flexibility of the divide and conquer system along with the ultimate temperature control make this the best grill I've ever cooked on. Thanks for engineering the Big Konnected Joe along with all the accessories and keep innovating. You really hit the mark with this one.
