Great Microwave.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the microwave. There was just a bit of a learning curve for how the buttons functioned compared to our old one. All my cookware has been able to fit in the large capacity. Everything has heated well and come out great with the exception of microwave popcorn. I have to stop it a few seconds early so it doesn't burn. Pretty soon my entire kitchen will be Kitchenaid products. When checking size make sure you consider where the feet are and not just overall size. Our microwave goes on a shelf and just barely fit.

Solid Microwave!!

Nice looking microwave
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new KitchenAid Microwave is the best. I like the looks of it as well as the features. I replaced my Whirlpool microwave which only last a couple of years before it was malfunctioning. So far I am happy with my replacement choice.

Would Buy This Model Again

Excellent Microwave - Nice Features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great microwave with good capacity and power. It is the first microwave I've ever owned that melts butter properly. I can set it, walk away and the butter does not explode as it has in other brands. I also appreciate that it works with a trim kit so it looks built in.

Love it - learning curve

Powerful and Well Built Microwave
I sold appliances for over 30 years and have always loved KitchenAid appliances. This unit is much better built than any of the other units I have had. It is a little noisier than some of the other ones I have owned, but I will take a little bit more noise for a better built unit.
One of the first things I did was turn off the child safety feature. Only adults in the building.

Looks and works great!

There’s nothing wrong with door lock.
Nice microwave works.
Everyone complaining about how the door button breaks needs to just read the manual.
There’s a two step door lock safety feature that can be disabled if the microwave is in an area where children can’t reach.
Hold “stop/ unlock” until you see dl : 0
Press “0” … you’ll then see dl : 1
Press start.
Hope this helps others.
Kitchen aid you should do a better job informing your customers. There’s no video about this anywhere.

Overall good microwave
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Capacity is just big enough. Food cooks consistently and everything seems evenly cooked so far. The controls are a little confusing at first and they give you a “quick start” paper but it isn’t very easy to follow or helpful. I haven’t used all functions. Apparently there may be a preheat option but no idea. This is the microwave our builders provide and there were not alternatives offered. We are happy with it for our purposes

Beautiful but not easy to use

Good feature but child lock mechanism is not durab
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Child lock mechanism can be tricky to use, and the mechanism is not durable. One 2 occasion during 3 months use, the door release does not engage upon keypad unlock. First time im able to pry open with a screw driver. The second time, the trick doesnt work amd need to call for replacement and RMA. Now we had the child lock permanently disabled.

New Stainless Steel Microwave
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave looks good, but it's not as nice as the 14 year-old version it replaced. I had to replace that KitchenAid microwave solely because the display panel only showed parts of numbers. I had to get a new mounting kit as well, because the new units don't fit the previous mounting kits. Comparing it to the old unit -- the door has a less-solid feel, and trying to do a key in a power-level and time is much more difficult to do. The inside light, however, is much brighter. I wanted another KitchenAid to match my other existing appliances.

Difficult maintaining a clean exterior finish

Problem Closing Door after 15 min of cook time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The microwave cooks evenly and is quiet. Unfortunately, we experienced an issue with it when cooking for around 15 minutes. When removing the dish then placing a new dish (2nd) in to cook the door would not close. The hooks in the door were no longer lined up. I’m assuming because the heat caused them to expand and move slightly. After 15 or more minutes (cool down) the door closed as expected and was fine, but you have to wait additional time to cook the 2nd dish. This got worse over time (2.5 months) eventually the door wouldn’t open. Yes, I pushed the stop button first. I have this recorded on video. I contacted support who sent a replacement. Waiting to see if the replacement is working as expected or not. The quality of new appliances aren't as good as years ago. The higher cost of a Kitchen Aid appliance should ensure a quality long-life trouble-free appliance but sadly this no longer seems to be true. Warranty support was very helpful and understanding and promptly replaced the microwave which is why this review is not 1 star. Thank you support for taking care of this in a timely manner. I’m hoping the replacement will be the quality product I thought I purchased.

Non-preset cooking is far from easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good: the oven is powerful and does a good job of heating food without hot-spots.
Bad: 1) Instructions don’t make it clear *at all* how to control time and power settings when not using pre-sets. The steps are NOT intuitive. Thirty seconds is too long to reheat coffee that’s already warm, but figuring out how to heat it for twenty is an ordeal. The minimal documentation is outrageous, given how much the oven cost.
2) Pre-sets are in tiny print inside oven door, and unreadable.

Why?

The farm sriund it was severely dented and had to be replaced. Also why would you have to push an unlock button to open the microwave? I can see it if the microwave is running but even when it stops you have to push an unlock button. Makes no sense.

Confusing instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am disappointed in the "ease of use" of this microwave. I have owned and used many microwave ovens in my life and find that setting the power and cook time is overly complicated and user UNfriendly. I am still trying to figure it out even after reading the instructions, which did not help at all. Who writes your manuals? Do they proofread them, or have someone unfamiliar with the product walk through the instructions to see if they make sense? Most microwave ovens allow you to set the power by pressing Power, then a number, and set the time by pressing the Cook Time and then the time, both would be displayed in the display window, so you'd know what you selected. This is what people expect. What you have done is not an improvement.
