Beautiful and functional fridge

Nice Features if they work
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This "built-in" refrigerator looks nice, but lacks a well fitting trim that looks as good as other built-ins we have had. Immediately the ice maker began to malfunction and we are still waiting on parts to hopefully repair. Frig and Freezer door do not align and we are told that's just how it is. Warranty service has us using 2 different companies to make repairs to this unit which is very inconvenient. Owned 6 weeks at this time.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the performance and condition of my brand-new KitchenAid refrigerator. We have experienced several issues that are unacceptable for a new appliance.
First, the refrigerator does not produce a consistent supply of ice. After dispensing approximately two cups of ice, the ice bin is essentially empty and requires 24 hours to refill a small amount of ice. In addition, the ice that is dispensed is often wet or partially melted rather than completely frozen. This leads me to believe there may be a sealing or temperature-related issue affecting the ice maker.
On several occasions, we have also discovered a large chunk of frozen ice at the bottom of the ice maker. We have had to remove the entire chunk and dispose of it in the kitchen sink. This should not occur in a properly functioning, brand-new refrigerator.
Another concern is the loud rattling noise coming from the top of the refrigerator whenever it cycles on. The noise is very noticeable and does not seem normal for a new appliance.
We also discovered a scratch measuring approximately 12 inches on the upper right refrigerator door at the time of delivery. This cosmetic damage should have been identified before the appliance left the warehouse.
Finally, we have concerns regarding the alignment of the refrigerator and freezer doors. When viewed from the right side, the left freezer door does not appear to be flush with the right door. In addition, the freezer door is not the same height as the adjacent door. This misalignment raises concerns that the door may not be sealing properly, which could be contributing to the ice maker problems and affecting the overall efficiency of the refrigerator.
We purchased this refrigerator with the expectation of receiving a quality product. Instead, we have encountered multiple mechanical, cosmetic, and alignment issues immediately after delivery. These problems are unacceptable for a brand-new appliance.
A repair technician came to our home today (7/30/2026) to assess the refrigerator and inspect the issues we have been experiencing. After evaluating the appliance, he informed us that he would be contacting KitchenAid to discuss the findings and obtain guidance on an appropriate resolution.
Given the number and severity of the issues that have existed since delivery, I do not believe a repair alone will adequately resolve our concerns. This is a brand-new refrigerator, supposedbly, and we expected it to perform properly from the beginning. I have not received any response regarding the outcome of the technician's assessment and KitchenAid's proposed resolution. I look forward to hearing from you soon and to resolving this matter in a timely and satisfactory manner.
