It sounds better once you get the app and select the Al sound pro under sound effect and whatever else you might want to adjust. LG has always given off a good sound I still use my speaker which is 750watts that is also an lg product. Now once I got the app it sounds like 300watts. I'm a bass girl love it!!

Best upgrade ever!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a Vizio five channel with this and the quality is far superior, better than I ever expected. The flexibility with a Bluetooth created a much better listening environment and it was a seamless connection to my Apple TV.

Simple yet Powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had my first experience with an LG sound system, and I must say I am impressed! The setup was very simple; I just had to plug and play all the components. As soon as I plugged in the main unit, the subwoofer, and the channels, they all connected to the main speaker wirelessly without needing any further setup. This soundbar features Bluetooth, optical, and HDMI ARC connections for your devices. The best way to adjust the settings on this speaker is through the app available in your local app store. Using the app, you can adjust individual speaker settings and volume. The sound coming from all the speakers is crystal clear, the bass is very solid, and all the speakers work well to immerse you in the sound of your TV. This product is simple but has very powerful sound, i recommend that this product will work best in smaller rooms with proper ceiling height.

Subwoofer and speakers can be connected wirelessly to the sound bar. You will be getting good length of wire for connecting the left and right speaker which can be placed anywhere in the room. Also, paring with the other devices is pretty simple and you wil be having different sound modes to choose from. The hidden/ surprise feature is AI sound which can amplify the sound experience. I will highly recommend this product to each and everyone.

Impressive sound!

I like that the speakers are not huge- and the sound is crisp and clear, even out of these small speakers. The subwoofer fits perfectly in our entertainment center too. You are able to adjust and change the sound quality on the remote easily. We love the surround sound this offers.

Nice Upgrade for Starter Home Theather
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG S40TR is a very good home theater system. If you setup to a TV with eArc, then you can take advantage of it true sound and capabilities. Setup is a breeze especially if you download and use the LG Soundbar App. Changes to settings and sound are far better than using the remote. Subwoofer puts out deep bass, center channel is clear and crisp. Definitely a great system.

Great Surround System

We recently got a new module couch and we’re only missing a good surround system to really get that movie theater feel when sitting on the couch watching tv. The setup was fast and simple. We cannot get over how nice it is to have the feature of speakers behind the couch and in front of the tv as well as the subwoofer. The sound comes out so clear and we can now hear every word in our shows and movies with a crisp sound. We love our ultimate tv room experience!

The sound quality is second to none, crisp, clear, and has a powerful base. This is an upgrade from my former LG soundbar that is still going strong, I just moved my other one to another section of the house and replaced with this beauty!
The soundbar has Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity capabilities and I suggest using the LG Soundbar App to make your life even easier.

Excellent soundbar w/rear speakers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG S40TR sound bar far exceeds my expectations with its 4 channels and 400W of power. It was a very easy setup connecting to my LG TV. I connected it via HDMI ARC, plugged in the sub-woofer and rear wireless speakers, and the TV automatically found it and changed the audio settings to default sound. The soundbar is smaller than I expected, but there is plenty of sound coming from its 4 channels of audio. I can control the audio settings and volume from my TV remote which is a nice feature to have.
Having rear speakers really gives you that immersive experience that you don’t really get with a front-only soundbar. With it’s Dolby Digital and DTS, everything around you sounds crystal clear. When you hear conversations and spoken dialog, Clear Voice Plus makes it sound so much better. This is one of the main reasons for buying a soundbar over just the TV speakers.
The one con I have with this soundbar is the LED display only being three lights. I recommend downloading the LG soundbar app because it is much easier to change the settings, equalizer and configure it how you like. The downloaded manual shows you what all the lights signify, but there are so many patterns and colors to remember what they all mean.
I think overall, this is a great soundbar to have for the price.

Nice but has issues
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sound quality is good. But audio drops out via hdmi. eARC is great when it works. Occasional dropouts are a nuisance. You have to scroll thru inputs on the soundbar to fix the dropouts.

Excellent sound bar for the money
We bought this sound bar to go with our new C4 television. For the most part it's very good however it does lack Dolby Atmos. That was my fault for not making sure but otherwise it's a very good soundbar and goes with our TV well.

LG Soundbar S40TR does sound good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using the sound bar and I felt it is worth the price and I compared the products in the market at this price and this proved to be the best . There are multiple modes like Cinematic,Gaming, Standard and others. I adjusted based on what I am looking at it. I would not suggest it for music lovers as it is not great quality but as always you get what you pay for and this does the job well so I would rate it 4 star

Nice Soundbar

Sometimes it will disconnect and the tv will start playing through the internal speakers but I don’t know if that’s a soundbar issue or a tv issue. It doesn’t always turn on with the tv either but that might be a tv problem. Overall good product with nice sound quality and easy to operate and setup

Decent sound, but has some drawbacks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a decent surround sound system with a powerful soundbar and subwoofer, but the satellite speakers are a little tshallow sounding. Another hassle is that the satellites have to be connected by a speaker wire which is visually not the best. I’d suggest making both the satellites Bluetooth to avoid that.
It has plenty of power, though so that’s a definite plus.

Affordable Family Room Upgrade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The price point of this product is hard to beat. I believe it is worth the asking price. It took us a little longer to get it set up, but we are particular with how things are placed and look. We did have to order a new mount for the sound bar, but that is because this set is much sleeker than what we had prior. After getting it set up and customizing the settings, we were able to find the ultimate sound for our living room. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade for their family room and family movie night.

Disappointing

The one speaker that plugs in to electrical will work without being connected to the other speaker. Is another of these rear speakers available to replace the one that needs to be wired to the other?

Rear Speakers Are NOT Wireless
Web site falsely advertises that the rear speakers are “completely wireless”. They are not completely wireless. They must be connected together with speaker wire. Very disappointed and dissatisfied.
