Helped our venting issues!
This worked well to vent our new front load LG dryer. We needed to vent this to the side in a small space, and my son was able to get it done in about half an hour. Our dryer vents like a dream now! We don’t have to turn it on repeatedly. There really wasn’t quite enough room to back vent it and the duct was being squashed a bit. So glad this was available!

Does what it is supposed to do
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product allowed me to go from a rear vent on the dryer to a side vent. There was some slight difficulty with the installation purely due to the lack of available access into the inside of the dryer, but the product went together fine. The hardest part was getting the tape in the dryer in the correct locations.

Does the job well
Arrived four days after ordering online. Installed yesterday on a new LG DLE7150W. Straightforward except for taping the connections, which was challenging due to tight spaces, nearby wires, and large hands. But it does the job--venting to the side instead of the rear--very well.

Perfect Fit - Easy Install
This is the optional side-venting kit I purchased with my new LG dryer. Very easy to install. All parts included. Simply remove the rear vent, block the hole and attach side vent.

Handy Side Vent
It worked as planned. It's quite difficult to getting aluminum tape around the connections since you have to work through one 4" hole. Not clear if the joint between the blower and the first length of duct needs to be taped, it wasn't from the factory. I'm worried about lint being blown under the dryer from that connection.

Fixed the problem

Had to do some modification.
I bought this to move the vent to the side of the laundry tower since my laundry room is super tiny. Installation was pretty easy, the exhaust pipe was too long for the side depth of the dryer. My husband had to trim off a few inches in order for it to fit perfectly. It worked out but I probably could not have done it by myself.

Expected better quality from LG
Literature everywhere says this works on the left or right sides but small print says this only works on the left side for Gas dryers - making this apparent up front would have saved me a lot of trouble.
For the quality and fit, this item is overpriced. Component fit is not sturdy and given that this sits on top of a washer (I have a laundry center - stacked setup), vibrations from the washer will very likely dislodge things if not secured better.

Works, but the Installation Process is Ridiculous
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed a side vent because of a small laundry closet, so I'm happy this was an option, but installing it requires a lot of patience and I cut my hands and arms several times reaching through the vent pipe holes to manipulate the duct pieces and tape. Long sleeves and gloves are recommended, but have you ever tried to use duct tape while wearing gloves? I recommend taping around the openings that you will be reaching through to make them safer. I can't believe that duct tape is the best way to secure the new pipes to one another after securing the first with a screw. If it was just a matter of sealing the seam, the process would not be nearly so difficult. Also, the removeable panel on the side of the dryer wasn't only held on by the tabs, so I had to hammer a screwdriver around the circumference to remove it. You'll see instruction videos online that show dismantling the dryer to install the side vent, which is the other option and might be safer, but might also void the warranty. Neither of the two stores we considered buying the dryer from would install the side vent for us. The instructions were straightforward, so I was able to do it, but I was cursing and practicing my calming breathing the entire time.

Side vent too short
Upon installing the LG dryer side vent kit the side vent pipe was too short and didn't extend out of the side vent hole at all, in fact it was 1/4 inch short of the dryer side. I rechecked to make sure I ordered the correct one for the LG Washtower and it was correct. I was lucky enough that the old dryer had a long enough pipe that i could put on. Poor QC.
