Had to replace DVD player I had, which was Sony, that I had 3 yrs..I chose LG because I owned one years ago when these DVD players were major components, which they clearly are no longer. I got long life & quality playback then, and expect the same now. The playback of the DVD is quality. Of course, this doesn't have the bells & whistles of my previous ones; EX: internet apps., but are no longer needed.

Quiet Operation / Great Price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new LG DP132H DVD Player is a great value for the price I paid at Walmart. The remote is a smaller version of a standard sized multi-functioned TV remote and it still includes all functions that you would expect. Other players at this price only offer a small egg shaped remote that only operates the player. Also, other DVD players I have tried vibrate and run noisily, but this LG DVD player is quiet when loading and watching a disk. The added up-conversion is a plus that I didn't expect. I couldn't be more satisfied with this product. Thanks LG!

Will gradually replace my other DVD players with this model throughout the house and can view room to room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fits my need for a very competent, small player with an HDMI connection to my bedroom LG TV, running off a single remote control. No troubles so far with any disk I've tried to watch/listen to. I haven't got around yet to trying the USB device feature.
Setup was straightforward once I discovered that the HDMI cable I had onhand was defective. The illustrations in both the simple and full manuals and the onscreen display are generally good -- but they offer no help regarding an important function in the remote: the "AV" button to select source (or input, in the language of another brand's remote), which requires a double-press to select.

Does not playback Blu-ray
We bought this model because I saw in the features “Yes” for BluRay/DVD playback. When we put a Blu-ray disc in, it does not read it.
