Great but it shouldn't have been necessary.
I bought the Netgear nighthawk CM1200 modem which works just fine. Then I bought the nighthawk tri-band WiFi 7 router which boast 3000 sq. ft. of coverage. Well it came up way short of that in my 850 sq ft single story house. It barely covered a third of that. So, I had to buy the extender which, thankfully, that did extend the coverage as promised. If I had it to do over again, I would get a mesh system.

Great extender at a great price
Bought this router for both residences to extend the range. It worked like a charm. Great not to have to set up a separate network name.

Nighthawk 7 extender
My router would not work 100% of the time. After installing the Nighthawk 7 I am now receiving a great signal and have constant internet up stairs.

Wi-Fi 7 Extender setup.
Works real well, was a bit temperamental with the install process, I setup mine as a wired access point, directions were clear but it would always strick out on the very last step. Took a while longer. I assigned a new SSID/password...I ended up using the wps button, then it started working. Great coverage, and good speed. A little network knowledge helps to resolve issues. I had to use the IP address to log into it, suggested login directions never worked.

Dead spot fixed
We needed to 'help' a dead spot in our home get a more consistent and stronger wifi signal. Decided on getting a Netgear extender that would work well with our Netgear Nighthawk router. The extender practically set itself up, it was easy to use. Thanks Netgear, another great item!

Solid 5G
5G reception from my router (far corner of 1st floor) to my computers (far corner of 2nd floor) was marginal and the computers often switched back to the 2G band, which is sloweer. This extender solved that problem and now both computers and my printer have solid 5G connections. Extender setup was quick and easy using the WPS method.

Excellent device with EASY setup
This is the third generation of extender I’ve bought from Netgear and this one continues right down the road of improvement, as the other two. Easy to install in place of one, along with an ups, that fell victim to a car hitting the pole on the corner. Just followed the prompts. I wish it this easy 40 years ago.

Great Results
Worked awesome where other extenders did not. I could never get a strong enough signal to my garage gym to get streaming services to work in poor quality but with this they worked flawless in Full HD. Wish they would have had this years ago!

Netgear range extended works but slow speed
It increased areas of reach of the RS700 but not as far as the Netgear X10 which didn’t need and extension or dead spots. The dual band extender is much slower for speed than the actual router. The range goes up but the speeds go way down with this plug in unit.

Works but has kinks
The set up and linking to the main Netgear router takes longer than it should. I experienced trouble with management of the linked extender, whereas once length should be controlled by the main router. I also had problems with iPhone handoff from the main Wi-Fi router to the extender.

Perfect 2GHz band device controller
Difficult setup (phone support helped setup, but it did not connect to the internet). Alternative WPS setup finally made it easy. It took several reboots and an overnight wait before system settled. Ultimately connected most 2 GHz band devices, leaving the heavy lifting for the mothership. Would buy it again.

Helpful for extending wifi throughout our home
Doesn't always stay linked to the main router. Several times I found it necessary to take the extender downstairs and plug it in close to the router to resync.

Didn’t work at all with Netgear router
Set up was impossible with RS 700… wen through multiple troubleshooting steps and contacted Netgear support … after a week of trying, they were not able to get it working. Could not recognize the SSID of the existing Netgear RS700 router. They thought it might’ve been the “smart connect“ but when that was ruled out, they said they had to for the issue to their “product“ team who after three weeks is you have to get back to me. I made the wise choice of returning it.
