Next-Level Internet Performance
After years of tolerating mediocre performance from the stock Spectrum modem and an aging Google Mesh system, I finally decided to overhaul my home network—and the results are nothing short of jaw-dropping.
Enter the Netgear Nighthawk CM3000 cable modem.
From the moment it came online, I knew this wasn’t just a marginal upgrade—it was a transformation. For the first time ever, I broke the 1 Gbps barrier on a Spectrum connection. Reliable, consistent, and screaming fast. This modem doesn't just keep up—it unleashes the full potential of my connection. The setup was seamless, the interface clean, and the performance? Flawless.
But I didn’t stop there.
To complement the modem, I swapped out my trusty (but aging) Google Mesh system for the Orbi 970 mesh system. Yes, it’s overkill for a cable connection—but that’s the point. This isn’t just about today’s speeds; it’s about future-proofing my network for everything tomorrow will throw at it. 8K streaming? Remote work across multiple devices? Smart home scaling? Bring it on.
The combination of the Nighthawk CM3000 and Orbi 970 has created a networking dream team. Coverage is blanket-smooth across the house, latency is virtually nonexistent, and handoffs between mesh nodes are invisible and instant. It’s the kind of setup that makes you forget what buffering ever felt like.
If you’re serious about performance—or just tired of bottlenecks and compromises—this is the upgrade to beat. Fair warning: once you experience this level of speed and stability, there’s no going back.

Fast and reliable, unlike Comcast
Upgraded to the CM3000 from an MB8611 on a Comcast gigabit plan. After the initial run around of Comcast not provisioning the modem correctly, it seems like the CM3000 saturates my older RT-AX68U router up to mid 900Mbps download speed and up to 350Mbps upload on the Comcast upgraded plan. These speeds aren't consistent which is almost certainly on Comcast. Great modem if you have a gigabit or higher plan.

Needed a Faster Modem
My old NightHawk was not getting the speed I was paying Comcast for, so decided i needed a faster modem that would connect better with my web routers. So far I am happy with the performance of the.modem. But I did have to also get a faster WiFi adapter for my computer.

Delivers Fast Speed **
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not an IT person so you won’t get the detailed spec opinions or advanced setup options. I recently cut the cable and opted to update my equipment to ensure fast, reliable speeds for streaming. Along with this modem I also purchased a new mesh 3-router system. My setup also includes a switch. I purchased CAT8 cables. The modem is located near the front of a 1,340sf single floor house. I gave priority to careful positioning of all devices in order to get the best speed. After setup I ran speed tests and various PC’s (wired and wireless) and got fast upload/downloads in line with the Xfinity gigabit x2 plan. An FYI to all though - the QoS got enabled on the router system which in turn throttled my speed much lower. The modem was blamed for the speed issues. Netgear support was phenomenal at diagnosing and determining the modem was working as should. Speed tests were over 2,000mb. 2nd call to router support where I discovered the QoS matter. Once disabled, my speeds were back to blazing fast. No drops. No issues. We’re good!

Works with Comcast X2 tier service and speeds
No issues so far. Compatible with Comcast X2 next gen speeds and service tier. Getting advertised 2.3gbps down and 300+mbps up. YMMV depending on wiring, splitters inside your home, etc.. Connected to Asus ROG GT BE98 Pro router.

Super fast, east to setup
The CM300 NETGEAR router was easy to set up, is stylish as routers go, and provides fast internet. I paired this router with TP-Link AX3000 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX55 Pro) and they work great together. I’m only paying for about 500mbps download annd 50mbps upload internet, but reliably getting about 750mbps with an upload speed around 100mbps. The router runs quiet with its internal fan.

Easy and Fast
I appreciated how simply the new Nighthawk installed. I’m getting maximum downloads now, and the link aggregation should be a phenomenal addition once I have a WiFi router that can handle two aggregate ports.

upgraded for the future
I recently upgraded to the Netgear CM3000 Cable Modem at home. My previous cable modem was from 2019 and Cox suggested I upgrade. I had a service call after the upgrade to maximize my signal and they did some things. This house is from 1962 and coxial cable is not new. Currently getting a good signal. I can tell I'm in range on the modem's webpage.

Powerful modem for up to 2.5 Gbps download speed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased Netgear CM3000 just about a couple of weeks ago after much research. I had a few concerns about the modem's compatibility with Comcast network in our area and several issues reported by other users w/r to the modem's reliability and stability. So far, I'm fairly satisfied.
1) Purchase, delivery, unpacking - can't be happier, no issues to report.
2) Initial set-up - no real issues. There was an issue after I did the self-installation - I noticed that the upload speed was low (the main reason I purchase the modem was to improve the upload speed). I called Comcast tech. support, asked them to re-provision the modem with a CORRECT boot file, and in fife minutes my upload speed was ~7 times higher.
3) the modem has been up and running for a couple of week with no hiccups that I could report.
I will be examining the logs and watching the modem performance. If anything goes wrong, I will come back to this review and update the rating - but so far everything looks good and I'm searching for a new router.

Speeds I’ve Never Seen!
I used to have an Xfinity modem that worked well, but I wanted something I could fully manage and with significantly faster speeds. Recently, I purchased a combo router/modem and encountered a ton of issues. On a whim, I decided to splurge and get the this bad boy and I’m thrilled with the results! I’ve never experienced speeds like these in my house. We have numerous home automation devices, and this device effortlessly handles them all, with some extra power. I highly recommend this product to anyone seeking to enhance their home networking capabilities.

Great upgrade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently, I needed to replace my aging NETGEAR Cable Modem/Router. I now own a mesh Wi-Fi system, and the CM3000 was the perfect match for the new configuration. Now, my mesh system operates much more efficiently, and the download/upload speed has increased as well. I look forward to many more years of reliable service from my newest NETGEAR product.
