Impressive Features in a Small Package
My favorite thing about this stepper is that it packs so much into such a compact space. It’s got a big, clear screen, built-in apps, and even a charging port for my phone. The workouts are low impact but surprisingly tough—I always feel like I’ve accomplished something, without the soreness I get from running. I enjoy having Netflix and other apps during my workout but really hope they’ll add YouTube soon. Also, a quicker way to just get started without the whole log-in process would make this perfect for busy mornings.

Nice Machine, Would Love Faster Start-Up
I’m a mom and work full-time, so having something in the house that I can just hop on and go is a game changer. The Step Climber XL delivers on that with its size and appearance—it’s stylish enough for my home and doesn’t make the room feel cramped. The phone charging port is something I never knew I needed but now use every single workout. Pre-set manual workouts are what I prefer most days, and that extra login step is the only thing that gets in my way. I’d also like to see more media options, especially YouTube.

A Low-Impact Game Changer for My Daily Routine
As someone who enjoys running but struggles with knee discomfort, I was seeking a low-impact alternative that still offered a great workout. This Step Climber has been a fantastic addition to my fitness regimen.
I've been able to incorporated daily sessions, alternating between hiking, running, and walking programs. The stair-stepping motion provides a unique challenge, engaging my glutes and quads differently than traditional cardio equipment.
The 16" HD touchscreen helps with the workout experience, though I did notice the iFIT programs for this machine aren't as diverse as those for the treadmill or stationary bike. The inclusion of streaming apps like Netflix is a nice touch, but I'd love to see additions like YouTube or Audible in the future.
Assembly was straightforward, taking about 45 minutes. Most of the tools were provided, but I did need to use some of my own to complete the setup.

Solid Stepper – Unique Addition to My Home Gym
I’m always looking for ways to get in solid cardio without the impact of running, which tends to bother my knees. I decided to try the NordicTrack Step Climber XL after using treadmills and bikes for years, and I’m honestly impressed by what this machine brings to the table. It’s low-impact but definitely not easy. The size is compact enough to fit in my home gym, which I really appreciate since space is at a premium.
Setup took about 45 minutes. NordicTrack included most of the tools in the box, but I still needed to dig out a couple of my own from the garage—just a heads up if you’re not super handy. The instructions were clear, and I had no major problems.
The iFIT programs are good, though I do wish there were more options for stepper workouts, since they’re a little behind what’s offered for treadmills and bikes. The 16” touchscreen is bright and easy to use. I really enjoy having Netflix and other streaming apps while I work out—it helps keep me motivated on longer sessions. I’d love to see YouTube or Audible added down the road.
One thing I noticed: the fan is great, but at 5'10" it hits me right in the face, which is not always ideal. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. In terms of overall build quality and performance, the Step Climber XL feels sturdy and smooth. It’s a perfect complement to our other home gym equipment, and it’s great to have a new way to train different muscle groups.
All in all, this is a quality machine for anyone who wants variety in their home workouts and needs something joint-friendly.

GREAT for cardio!
This has to be one of the best purchases I've had for exercise equipment. The build quality is some of the best that I have ever seen. It has a fairly small footprint so it can fit in the small list of corners in my exercise room. I can hop on and get a good workout in without having to fiddle around with other equipment. This is an amazing cardio equipment machine.

Easy on the knees
I’ve used a number of stair climbers over the years—at gyms, hotels, you name it—but the NordicTrack Step Climber XL is the first one I’ve owned at home, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed.
Delivery & Setup
Let’s start with the unboxing: this thing shows up in a seriously large and heavy box. No way it was fitting through the front door as-is. I had to open it up on the porch and carry it in piece by piece. But honestly, it wasn’t a big deal. Even with two little kids “helping,” I had it fully assembled in about two hours. Instructions were clear, and it came together smoothly with just me handling the tools.
Workout Quality
What sets this apart from other stair climbers I’ve used is how refined the motion feels—smooth, controlled, and really effective at targeting the legs. I’ve dealt with occasional knee pain in the past, especially after running, so low-impact is a must for me. This machine absolutely delivers on that. I can push myself hard and still feel good afterward—no soreness in the joints, just that solid leg burn you want from a stair workout.
Resistance & Performance
The resistance range is excellent—plenty of room to challenge yourself, even if you’re used to high-intensity machines. I haven’t found the ceiling yet, and I don’t think I will anytime soon. It’s a real leg-builder.
Quiet & Entertainment-Friendly
Another big plus: it’s whisper quiet. I can climb early in the morning or during nap time without waking the kids. And the 16” screen is a great touch. I usually stream a show while working out, and I love that I can keep my workout stats visible without interrupting the entertainment. Makes the time fly.
Bottom Line
If you’ve used stair climbers before and want something on par with (or better than) what you’ll find in a commercial gym, this is it. Powerful, smooth, quiet, easy on the knees, and the setup wasn’t bad at all. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

Love This Machine – Perfect for a Busy Mom!
I’m so glad I chose the NordicTrack Step Climber XL. Assembly was surprisingly manageable—even with a 4-year-old and an infant in tow, it only took us about 2 hours to put everything together. The parts were packed really well, but the box was too heavy to bring inside all at once. We just opened it outside and carried the individual pieces inside, down our small staircase, with no issues at all.
It came with some nice, full-size tools, which I appreciated, but I did need to use my own small Allen wrench to attach the handles—the ones included were a bit too long for the angle needed. Still, assembly was straightforward and felt very doable, even with distractions.
Once it was set up, I was immediately impressed with how smooth the motion is. It feels really natural and low-impact, but I still get an amazing burn in my legs fast—perfect for getting in an efficient workout while the kids are occupied. The iFIT experience makes it even better. I love the variety of workouts and locations, and it really helps me stay motivated. It’s something I actually look forward to using each time, which says a lot when time and energy are both limited.
Highly recommend for any parent looking for a solid, effective, and enjoyable workout at home!

As someone who's used a range of stair climbers—from budget-friendly models at home to high-end ones in commercial gyms—I was curious to try the NordicTrack Step Climber XL. After a few weeks of regular use, I can confidently say it stands out in several key areas.
Assembly & Setup:
Surprisingly, setup was easier than I expected—even with a 4-year-old and an infant in tow. It only took us about two hours from start to finish. The box is quite heavy, so we opened it outside and brought the parts in separately, which worked out well. We were able to carry all the pieces down our small staircase quickly and easily without issue.

The only hiccup was that the long allen wrenches included were too long for the angle needed to attach the handles, but I used a small one I had on hand and it worked fine. Compact Powerhouse!
As a young mom, time and space are both in short supply—but this step climber fits perfectly into my chaotic life. I love that it stands upright and doesn’t eat up my tiny home gym. The padded foot steps are surprisingly gentle on my knees, and let me tell you, I feel the burn in under two minutes! The built-in fan is a godsend, and I can stream my favorite show while sweating it out. Only downside? iFIT doesn’t offer specific step climber workouts that I could find on the app, but I just use the elliptical ones and still get torched. Worth every penny. Surprisingly Fun and Incredibly Versatile – A Compact Powerhouse!

Quick and Efficient for My Hectic Schedule
With two kids under five, I don't have hours to spend working out. I use my step climber for 20 minutes during nap time, and I can feel the difference already. Excellent product with entertainment
I’ve never enjoyed home workouts until I got this stair climber. I can watch my favorite shows and get a good workout in. Ifit gives you a selection of workouts or the manual mode so you can select the resistance and time. I’m impressed with the look and overall quality. Great Step Climber!
I absolutely love the NordicTrack Step Climber XL! I am 45 years old and work in the travel industry. While staying in hotels, I often use nicer gym equipment and wanted something similar for home use. This NordicTrack is high quality, stable, and feels like high end gym equipment. It was a breeze to put together. It recommends two people but I was able to complete it myself and only using the provided tools. Instructions were simple to understand and the entire process took around 40-45mins. The Step Climber XL fits nicely in a guest bedroom requiring very little space. The built in TV has wifi connectivity allowing it to stream workouts, Netflix, Prime Video, and other compatible apps eliminating the need for a TV in the room. During workouts, The NordicTrack is so quiet I can use it in the early mornings without worry of waking up any family members. I highly recommend this equipment to anyone looking for a solid workout at home. I was incentivized to write this honest review.

Huge Screen!
This is an incentivized review of the NordicTrack Step Climber XL. I am more than happy to share my opinion of this equipment and its use over the past 45 days.
I am over 40 years old and a 20 year military veteran so I needed something for my home workouts that is low impact. 20 years in the military has really taken its toll on my knees so low impact was a requirement. This Step Climber is fantastic for it. It’s a stair climber but moves up and down in an elliptical motion versus just a straight stair climber. The padded foot pads and the motion really keep any impact to a minimum allowing for pain free workouts. The giant XL screen has options for multiple accounts so my entire family can use and track there personal progress. The workouts can be as intense has you want with guided workouts through iFIT or you can just create your own pace and enjoy watching a show on one of the built in apps like Prime Video or Netflix. My wife loves to throw on a Netflix show and get a nice workout in while catching up on her favorite series. Having the larger screen is great and amazing picture quality. Really eliminates the need to have a TV in the room. The machine fits perfectly in our bedroom and right against the far wall. The quality of NordicTrack equipment still keeps its reputation in this Step Climber. Its very quite, solid, and allows a great workout without waking up everyone in the house.

Quality machine and workout
This stair climber has been a great addition to my workouts. While I love running, it can be really hard on my joints. I have been able to use this machine with minimal pain. The ability to use iFit on this is an added bonus. I often get bored doing indoor workouts, so having different options of trainers, workouts, and even catching up on my favorite shows through iFit keeps me from getting bored. I forgot how convenient it is the have a workout machine in your home. I am easily able to track and compare workouts. It even has the ability to set up multiple profiles so I The stair climber is quiet, making it easy to use in the early mornings when everyone is still sleeping in the house. We also have limited space inside and it surprisingly does not take up much room in one of our spare rooms.
We scheduled the delivery fairly easily and made the mistake of putting it together in our garage. If I had to go back, I would have definitely brought it upstairs before putting it together as it is pretty heavy. It was a little difficult to put together alone, but not impossible. Would recommend two people just to make it easier. Instructions were clear the machine is very sturdy. I have used machines in the past that do not feel stable, but this one is solid. This is an incentivized review, but it is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Great workout for busy Mom
The NordicTrack step climber has been amazing, I have has the climber for a few weeks now and use it multiple times a week. I needed another option for cardio for when it is just to hot outside to run. I still get a great workout without disturbing the rest of the family as it is very quiet. We have it in a guest room across the hallway from my daughter and she has never woken up from me using it in the early mornings. The climber is easy to use and different difficulty levels allows you to have the workout you prefer. There are different workouts to choose from, which is great to mix it up and not get bored of the same thing every day.
It was fairly easy to put the step climber together. While one person can do it themselves, it is much easier with two people. It is very heavy, don't make the mistake like we did and had to move it upstairs once it was put together. While this is an incentivized review, this is my honest review of the product.

Time saver with kids
I’ve had this machine for a few weeks and am very happy with it. This machine is very quiet and smooth, I don’t have a ton of space but it fits well and doesn’t require a large space. I try to workout as much as I can but with little kids at home and a full time job I usually find an excuse not to! I like that I can get the kids set up on the tv nearby and I can catch up on my tv series on the screen ofthe machine at the same time. Exercise definitely makes me feel better mentally and physically and I’m happy that this machine has allowed me to get those benefits and still be able to have my kids nearby at home. This stepper was offered at a reduced price for my honest opinion and I’m very impressed with it. I 100% recommend.

Small footprint Big Machine
I’ve been very impressed and happy with this machine. I work out regularly and have used a lot of different cardio machines throughout the years. This machine provides a great workout very similar to a stair stepper and elliptical combined. I like that it is low impact to my body but still provides a great cardio workout.
At my current home we don’t have a lot of space for exercise equipment so I had signed up for a gym membership. With two little kids and life being so busy it’s hard to find the time for the gym and love the convenience of having the ability to get a workout in at home. This machine takes care of that by not being too big and still providing a great workout.
I was given this machine at a discount to offer my honest opinion and would definitely recommend it. It’s helped me to get my time back and complete some of my goals.

My teen has been asking for a stair stepper, but I was reluctant to get one considering how they were always pretty hard on your joints. But the Step Climber is like a mix between an elliptical and stair stepper. . . low impact, but with the resistance I was looking for. Really enjoying this addition to our home gym! Love my new machine
This has been a great addition to our home gym. I used to incline walk on the treadmill, but I wanted something that felt smoother. This feels more like an elliptical to me, but with the added resistance for my legs and glutes. Trying to work my way up with the resistance, so using the machine in about 20-30 min sessions which has been a great workout! This is my honest, but incentivized review.

Better than a treadmill!
I got this machine about a month ago and have tried to use it when I can’t make it to the gym. It’s cardio, but with the resistance, so I feel like it is also helping with my strength training as well. I definitely can’t use it on the highest resistance yet, so it’s something to work up to. The NordicTrack Step Climber XL has totally changed the way I work out. As a working mom of two little ones, time is limited, but this machine gives me an awesome workout in just 30-45 minutes. It seriously kicks my butt! The ifit programs are fun and engaging, and I love that the resistance adjusts automatically to match the program. Absolutely love my NordicTrack Step Climber XL! It’s the perfect fit for my busy schedule and delivers an awesome workout in less than an hour, which is usually the amount of time I have. The variety of Ifit workouts keeps it fun and changing, and I appreciate that the machine does all the adjusting for me.
