Battery Doorbell Plus
Love that it now has a battery for backup. The downside is that Ring continues to upgrade things that should have been included when I initially set up my system and I find myself having to repurchase items that I've already paid for and had installed whenever they proclaim a newer model. It's not as if the newer model couldn't have been made that way from the start. I'm not talking about newer circuit boards, software and technology here. I'm discussing the same battery they've had for years was finally installed in a doorbell, something that could have been done years ago so as not to cost the consumer a double or triple purchase by the way things are heading lately.

Big improvement with a glaring issue
I replaced Doorbell 2 with doorbell plus. It does what it is said. I can see a person from head to toe in front of my door. It literally shows everywhere in my porch. I am very satisfied with the wide view angles, horizontal and vertical. The image has also become sharp and crisp.
The issue: Whenever a car/truck passes by in a sunny day, it seems to reflect the sunlight into my porch and white out the image for a second. It did not happen in my previous ring doorbell. It would be a big issue when someone parks his/her car in front of my house and walks toward the door. The camera cannot detect the motion in time as the reflection whites out the image. Because the image looks like a fisheye view, I suspect the algorithm needs to adjust the brightness of the center area of the image.
Three images are attached. They were taken at 10:23am, 1:57pm and 2:45pm respectively. In the third image a mail person walking toward the door cannot be seen. So this issue basically affect the camera for 6-8 hours everyday..

Ring Battery Doorbell Plus
I recently purchased this product to replace my Ring Doorbell II. I am giving it an average rating because it really doesn't appear to be any better than the Doorbell II as far as I am concerned. It was easy to install and works fine for the purpose. I don't think the extra wide field of view is worth the extra money I paid for the doorbell. As with my other Ring products audio recording is sketchy at most. Most of the time it doesn't record any sound at all. I like my Ring products but honestly for the price I can get as good quality from much cheaper devices.

Quite a disapointment
The degree of distortion caused by the severe fisheye lens was unexpected. I own three Ring Doorbell cameras and this one is certainly the worst. My four year old Ring doorbell produces a more in focus image that my Battery Doorbell Plus.
