Samsung Filter fits; Other's Don't!
When our refrigerator filter light came on we shopped at home depot for a replacement. They had one, we bought it, and it leaked. No matter how tightly I cranked it.
Called Samsung, asked if they had one available, and they did. It fit and it doesn't leak. Expensive, but it fits.

Purchased for future filter replacement
Filter cost is on the high side for a filter supposedly lasting only six months. Our last refrigerators water filter needed to be replaced yearly and cost half the price of our current refrigerator filter.

watch out for counterfeits !!!
i bought several "original" samsung filters on ebay, and right off they didn't fit.
before you even insert it, do some research. see if the stated manufacturer even makes that particular filter. see if the holes at the top are perfectly round. there are videos that show what to look for.
so, this has taught me to buy from samsung or an official dealer.
it's amazing what counterfeiters do. they even had the magnetic "green stripe" gimmick !
be careful out there !

Great product with decent price
The filter makes water tasted much better. The price is high if you buy just one filter; however, the price of a packet of 3 is fair.

filter doe not fit
i had same problem few years ago....filter would NOT fit.....their technician over the phone advised me to replace the housing to accommodate new filter design !!!

Disappointed
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator in 2012, the filter that was match to my model no longer fits. I am very disappointment with my Samsung frig, the ice maker also doesn't work and this is my 2nd replacement. I will never purchase another Samsung again.

The filter does not fit. Period. Nothing else needs to be said but Samsung "told" me this was the filter I needed but no, it is not. On left is the filter Samsung sent. On the right, the filter I had.

Defective refrigerator filters
I see that my frustration with trying to find a filter that actually fits my Samsung refrigerator is not unique. The filters could be installed very easily until a few years ago. Now, even after remodeling the teeth on the filter, I can’t get it to install. From the reviews, it’s obvious that Samsung knows about the problem but for some reason refuses to fix it. Shameful!

Don't buy it, it doesn't fit
Just like everyone else, this filter does not fit my older Samsung fridge despite being listed as the compatible filter. Also, the stupid "twist your old filter all the way to the left to reset the lock" troubleshooting guide did not work for me, and sounds like a great way to break your water filter completely. Ridiculous that Samsung hasn't addressed this issue.

Samsung's Own Replacement Part DOESN'T EVEN FIT?!?
Are you kidding me? If you have a 10yr+ old fridge and Samsung says this part is your replacement, good chance it won't fit. They changed the design and kept the same part number. Will not screw into my RFG297. Buy the knockoff versions.

Totally unimpressed with Samsung!
Samsung really messed up by producing two different key lock mechanisms fir the same model of filter. Also, their website even recommends a tall slim filter for my fridge instead of tge short fat one it actually needs!
On top of that, it's NOT easy to remove and old filter, especially due to it's location.
They can't have got it any more wrong!

Such an Insult to Samsung consumers
I've had my Samsung French door refrigerator for 11 years. Love the fridge. However, I will never buy another Samsung fridge again after the disgusting way Samsung has treated its customers by changing the water filter so it doesn't fit older models.
How hard is it to market two styles of filter? How did you think we were going to react?

HAFCU1 wrong filter for RF267AERS
Filter HAFCU1 does not fit Model RF267AERS. Samsung needs to fix this in their knowledgebase so customers don't continue to order the wrong water filter.

Horrible product why would they change the origina
I purchased the filter about a month ago and it would not fit on there very well. Kind of clipped on there and water went all over the place in my refrigerator on the floor. It was a complete mess.

Filter no longer fits
greetings. i feel the pain here. here’s my caveman fix, less samsung recommendations:
install the filter up to the point it refuses to lock-in. apply some pressure. pull the filter out. look at the impressions on the filter teeth (see pic from another caveman).
shave off material below the first tooth impression attempting to keep the same design shape.
then basically remove the aft or the third tooth above the base (see pic). you can use a regular file that you would find in your toolbox. a course file to start, then a fine one to smooth out, or as i use, a dremel tool to file it down (be careful with a powered dremel as it can take a lot off fast).
keep at it until it fits. always works for me. only use filters with nsf 42, 53, 401 protections. hope this helped.

same complaint as others…water filter no longer fits…. who managed this project? makes no sense when there are thousands of refrigerators out there, im sure, requring the original model filter.

they changed the design on purpose to try and force people to replace their equipment. they could have easily created a new part number for their new equipment, but they purposely changed the design of the same part number... and then they have the audacity to say we are valued customers. off to the knock-off brands for me.

i purchase your refrigerator based o what i know about other products, i have a very expensive refrigerator that i cant get filters for, the product number is the same but the item is not. the filter will not fit not matter how hard to try and da29-00003b and da29-00003g is not the same. someone needs to look at the product. a blind man can see that. i now have a refrigerator that is useless.

i purchased a replacement filter (da29-00003g) for my rfg298aars fridge, it doesn’t fit. why have you changed the size of the notches in the filter. what kind of quality control do you have at samsung.. apparently i am not the only one with this complaint. in other words i don’t need to send a photo, someone already has.
what are you going to do to resolve this issue.

Change in filter design
samsung changed the fitting at the top of the filter so it no longer fits in the housing. i tried the online chat and then called the number they suggested to speak directly to a person. the advice for making the new filter fit was inaccurate. no amount of force would work. i tried amazon and ebay hoping to find the older model to no avail. our service person said the whole housing would have to be replaced to accommodate the new filter design. no warning ahead of time from samsung about the change and no opportunity to purchase the older filter design. do to this and several other required service calls, this will be my last samsung product.

Filter won't fit. WARNING - Don't buy it!
kinda crazy, that a company could be so incompetent, but samsung has achieved that status with the faulty redesign of this filter. it does not fit my samsung refrigerator after the redesign.
and, to top it all off, samsung has been receiving this compliant for the last 3 years, and has done nothing to address the issue. please, don't waste your time and money, ditch samsung. i will never purchase any samsung product going forward!
