Works well with dog hair and messy kids
I’m very happy with this vacuum. It works efficiently. We have 3 bulldogs and they shed like crazy, we also have messy kids. The vacuum is very good at picking up everything on our floor and area rugs. Also this one has a bigger self cleaning bin with is better than our old shark vacuum, highly recommend this!

A definite upgrade
So far so good. This was a recent purchase to replace my old Dyson cordless. I’m loving this so far. I have been able to vacuum my whole house without it dying. It handles both carpet and hardwood well. It cleans great, and the bendable arm is amazing for getting under furniture. I’m also loving not having to dump the bin every five seconds. I have two golden retrievers, and its capacity is blowing me away.

Powerful, Flexible, and Ultimate Convenience
Right off the bat, this stick vacuum is not cheap but it backs itself up with powerful suction, flexibility, and all around convenience. The top features I love is the auto emptying charging stand, the dirt illuminating "headlights", and the near 90° bend it gives you for going under furniture.
This vacuum has several auto sensing features which gives it a nice edge over other standard stick vacs. It senses when you're vacuuming next to a wall and auto increases it's suction to get things right up against the base of the wall. It auto detects when you transition from hardwood to carpet and engages additional suction as well as another brush for carpets. I mean the carpet mode really puts it in competition with many wired standing vacuums. And lastly, something of note for the autosensing features is the dirt notification lights. There are two lights that glow more and more purple the more dirt it senses it's picking up. Helps let you know to focus more in this space even if you don't see the dust or dirt.
The auto emptying charging base is fantastic convenience. Anytime someone grabs the vac, we know it's already fully charged, empty and ready to go. The base hold quite a lot and has an airfreshener built in, so you don't get that dusty smell when it cycles its clean out of the stick vac.
Overall, if you are looking for a stick vac that is powerful, gives a lot of convenience, and want something to have for years to come, this right here is peak!

Love my Shark. The auto empty dock and the long run time are wonderful. I do wish the vacuum part was slightly lighter weight. I had a Dyson previously and while the suction was good, it was cumbersome to empty and always made a mess when doing so.

Shark to the rescue!
I used it for the first time the other day and it did not disappoint. I have 3 Shark products and love them all. I needed a new vacuum cleaner and got it in my mind to try another brand that got great reviews. It did not compare to the Shark products and after digging a little deeper I found many not so great reviews on the Miwa vacuum cleaner. I used it 2 times, and then made another purchase. ANOTHER SHARK!! I will never buy any other brand of vacuum other than a Shark again!!

Easy to operate.
Ordered before my wood floors were refinished. Works as described. Brushroll is a nice option . Perfect for collecting Golden Retriever dog fur. Suction is powerful.

The power and the ease of dumping.
I have only used it a couple of times so far but it has been enough to know that I already love it. It is easy to use and really does the job. I replaced another Shark with this one and know that I will be a Shark customer for life.

Can't recommend enough
I bought this vacuum in May 2026 and I used every day up to 3 times a day and it's amazing. It picks up dust and debris so easily. The brush roll spins very powerfully. And the runtime is around 20 minutes on high speed.

Great suction
I have a 9 year old Shark stick vac and I love it. Decided I needed an upgrade so I purchased this wonderful power detect and I couldn’t be happier! The suction is fantastic and the auto empty is a great feature. I have several Shark products and am happy with all of them.

Nice vacuum!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Surprising this is quite powerful. Make sure you check the model number because not all suction in reverse. I like the strongest setting but the detect setting seems to work well.its a little delayed when it recognizes dirt but it did kick up the speed. I have used it on my concrete floors in my home and vinyl plank floors…it worked low pile carpet but I felt like I had to push and pull pretty hard…it’s supposed to auto detect the different kind of floors too…but seriously I don’t like battery powered things like this and I am thinking about buying another one! It’s light weight too…

Love the auto empty
I run a dog rescue, I wish companies would use us to test their products as I go through vacuums like eggs. I currently have 5 in my house! I vacuum 3-5 times a day. I hate the price of this vacuum but it works. I have the same in corded and really don’t
Like it. The dirt cup fills so fast seems I spend as much time emptying as vacuuming. I love this one empties into a reservoir and cuts down the time I waste emptying several times a day. The vacuum has good suction so far. Hope it lasts. So far so good!

Upgraded Model
We had an older model of this vacuum and it stopped running after less than a year. We contacted aupport and they sent us at no charge the newest model and it works SO MUCH BETTER. We have cats and it picks up litter effortlessly where the older model did not. Can't say enough how much we love this vacuum and appreciate that Shark stands behind their products to the extent they would not just replace but upgrade when we had an issue.

Long hair does not get wrapped in it! Self-emptying version is a must have!
I wish I didn’t wait so long to splurge on a nice vacuum! My old vacuums were basically brooms just moving stuff around compared to this Shark PowerDetect! I did a lot of research and heard from professional cleaners online that they prefer Shark over Dyson. I am so happy I went with the Shark.
I have a very high pile expensive area rug, as well as very low pile rugs, carpet, wood, and tile flooring, and the vacuum is very versatile. I regularly do my plant repotting indoors and this picks up everything - including huge leca balls!
The best part is that hair does not get wrapped around the brush - I have long hair and this is the #1 issue I had with all previous vacuums.
The second best feature is the auto-clean function, although it can be a bit loud. There is a quiet button to use at night so that you can still dock the vacuum without it waking everyone up during its self-emptying process.
Also, there is an odor blocking filter in it that smells nice.
Must buy!

Replacement of my Shark was a no-brainer
This is my second Shark vacuum my first one finally went to rest so I had to get another and it was a no-brainer. I want to get the same thing as what I had because it worked so well. No Dyson for this gal. I’m on a good budget and Shark is very affordable and it works just as good.

My all time favorite vacuum
This is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned, my main goal is to have a vacuum that can pick up dog hair (we have two Rottweilers) and this does the job and it does it well. I love the fact that I don’t need to dump it manually every single time, I vacuum multiple times a day and I just need to dock it and it takes care of that for me.

The vacuum that's worth the money!
I recieved this Shark Power Detect. I am very pleased with it performance. The build quality seems good, although some plsatic parts feel like that may break (Probally wont break, but feels flimsy). The suction power is incredible for this vacuum cleaner. I do have a dog, and he sheds quite a bit. The hair pickup is really good and does not get clogged whatsoever. Now I do have a large house but, the vacuum is constanly ramping up and down. With that the battery seems to drain very quickly and was unable to finish my entire house without it dying. (I wish there was a medium mode too). Dirt removal is also a very strong point of this vacuum cleaner. It picks up everything on the first pass!

Great at picking up dog hair and other dirt
I received this to replace a Shark 4000 series that got a crack in the handheld section. the IP3251 is so much better in ease of operation and cleaning.
