I haven’t had this microwave very long but so far it seems to be working great. Definitely doesn’t take long to reheat leftovers. Food is very evenly warmed. The only drawback to the unit is the beeping four times when time runs out. There is no stopping it other than to hit the clear button before the time runs out. Otherwise we are very satisfied with our purchase.

Replaces 20+ yr old sharp unit
Replacement for 20+ year old Sharp 700 watt carousal microwave oven. New unit works great and has 1000 watt power level which heats faster. Seems to be a quality unit - will it last as long as the old unit - I hope so.

Replaced a 20 year old Sharp microwave with this one. The grey interior is a lot darker compared to white interior, but looks very nice. We don’t find the interior light bright enough but the microwave is in a darker part of kitchen. Another review said it was too bright. Not to us. It’s perfect for what we need and user friendly. The Owners manual comes with great tips and tricks and recipes! Buy it! You won’t be disappointed. Ps.. plates larger than 12 inch may not fit. Measure first. The only negative was the shipping packaging. We requested extra padding and a fragile sticker on outside. We live in a remote area and a lot of big items get damaged. Luckily it was not damaged and it was shipped in its own box. No surprises and all our neighbors knew what we got!

IT'S ADEQUATE FOR MY NEEDS
There are a few features about this microwave that I don't like and why I gave it 4 stars: You can't use the kitchen timer at the same time you use the microwave, and visa versa. I find this very inconvenient since my old microwave allowed me to use both at the same time. I had to buy a separate digital timer because of this flaw. This microwave seems to cook hotter than my 1100 watt microwave even though it's 1000 watts. Also, the stainless steel shows every finger print unless you clean the outside of the microwave all the time. It's also noisy when using any power setting except 100%.

how can I mute the beep?

microwave makes a humming sound when I try to use it, but nothing works
I've never had that problem. It worked out of the box, and it has always worked. When I push Start, the usual things happen: humming; turntable turns; timer counts down.
