I am replacing my r1210 with the exact same microwave. I see it snaps into latches in the back of the mounting bracket. How do I remove the microwave from the latches?
When I did mine I removed the two screws that hold the rear of the unit through the latches to the mounting plate. If the screws weren't installed then you need to pry the latches to release the unit from the mounting plate. Support the unit at the front with a short 2 x 4. Then remove the two screws that hold the top front of the unit to the cabinets above. It will tilt downward and you can lift it off the rear mounting bracket. The new unit has a cutout on the box that will assist in removing the old unit and also installing the new one. I’m looking for a built in type of microwave to replace the one that no longer works. Sharp had one that would be perfect but is always out of stock. Will this microwave fit and work in the space I once had a built in? I still have the frame kit.

Can this microwave be place inside a cabinet or does it need to be open on the bottom to vent?
It needs to be open to vent. Also the 2 lights in the bottom of it that illuminate the counter would not be any use.
