Amazing picture
We replaced our recently deceased 9 year old flat screen with an XR65 A80L OLED. The picture quality has a bit of a "3D" effect, and is amazing. The drawbacks are that it does take a bit of reading through the online manual to get everything set up for the best picture and that the remote has been "dumbed down" (probably to save Sony a few pennies?). We will be buying an aftermarket remote with a full keypad. We'll still give it 5 stars as we bought this set for the picture quality.

Hands down the best TV picture
When it comes to reliability and top performance, I always go to Sony TVs. I never had issues with Sony TVs and when I compare the OLED to other TVs there is no question Sony has my business. I am enjoying the rich blacks and colors of my OLED.

My first OLED
I spent months reviewing TVs for my 1st OLED purchase. Although not the most expensive TV on the market, it was still a major purchase for me. I chose the Sony because of its outstanding reputation and felt it had better features than the LG or Samsung. Watching TV is a whole new level of enjoyment now !! The colors are vibrant and the acoustic screen is amazing. The picture detailing and crispness in the OLED are undeniable. I definitely recommend this TV for your first reasonably priced OLED. I previously owned all TCL QLED TVs which are great LED products but nothing compares to the OLED picture.

My first OLED Sony TV - Wonderful!
I bought this 2 or 3 months ago and is my first OLED TV, but not my first Sony. I love all my Sony's, and I have Samsungs. Both manufacterers have Pro's & Cons. Sony, has many Pros as Great Picture and Quality Made. Samsung is my 2nd favorite. The reason I have two producers (I have 25 TVs throughout my home) is Samsung can be programmed to turn on and off with three Separate programs, individually picking the dates and times, or all week repeating, etc. I use them at various times of the day as an Alarm clock and to watch TV. Sony also can be programmed to turn on at a time or weekdays or every day, but then I can only set for the duration of on time. So, on at 8 am and off at 10 pm can be done (duration set at 14 hours), but if the TV is off in-between (such as a power outage, then power returns) the TV will have the correct time, but not remember to turn off at 10 pm (duration of 14 hours). By FAR, I love my SONY TV's and other products, but Samsung is a close 2nd, but the Turn On/Off over multple days and programs is great. A Con on Samsung is, if the Power Goes out, then back on, it won't remember the programs were set. The programs are STILL there, complete with days and times correctly remembered, however, the Toggle for ENABLED is OFF so is no longer set. So, I often (about 2 times a month) have to take my Samsung remote and Toggle the existing programs I set, backto Enable again, otherwise it won't execute the programs after a power outage. My Sony TV's all will remember the one program I have listed, and it will come up with the correct time, and it will continue to work without my intervention, but it's only ONE Program for ON, then sets the durtion in hours and minutes. Also, Samsung always has at least 180 minutes Sleep Timer (3 hours) max. Sony always has 120 minutes (2 hours) max. Both Sony and Samsung make the user press MANY buttons to get to and set the Sleep Timer. Other brands may have a single key to press for SLEEP and repeatedly pressing it may increment 15 minute, 30 minute, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes, 180 minutes, 240 minutes. I use the Sleep function daily, but both brands are limited in MAX time to set for, and take about 4-6 remote key presses to get TO the Sleep Function, then, it takes 3-4 or so more presses to find the time I want it to go off. Usually, 180 minutes for Samsung and only 120 minutes (Maximum) for Sony. I wish Sony would lengthen the time to at least 3 hours but 4 hours maximum would be awesome. LOVE SONY OLED TV 55 inch so far. My other 55 inch SONY's 4K Bravia's are NOT OLED, but their picture is still TOP NOTCH, best of all the different brands of TV's I have at my home (& in the Garage). If Sony Charges more than other companies, I believe it is Very Much a matter of getting what you pay for. The BEST overall TV picture and quality will cost more, but that's good. I don't want Sony to go cheaper on parts or design to compete with other cheaper brands. We MUST have a company that will continue to produce the BEST, and my vote until or unless something changes, is SONY all the way. If you're on a budget and can't buy the Best, then Samsung will NOT disappoint. Still, it won't be a SONY though. You could do what I did and buy a few Samsung's and a few Sony's. Compare them in real life. They complement each other at my home. I will continue this configuration until the money runs out. :-)

The TV is Fantastic but the remote for it.....
The tv replaced a tv that was left by the previous owners and it just died after almost 2 years....So this Sony's picture is beautiful, crisp and clear and the colors are amazing! The remote that comes with, is so tiny my fingers can hardly operate it. And the only reason I would need to is when a box pops up that says there is a software update available. But like I said, the tv is Perfect. And I will say I LOVE all my Sony products...It is my go to brand when shopping...Keep up the good job (except make that remote larger so human hands can operate it and it really could use lit up keys, too)

Great Features!
The A80L is great. Love the natural colors. Great right out the box. Only other thing I did was lower the color for tv, streaming and HDR content to 41 from 50. Beautiful tv, beautiful picture, good sound though I added a 5.1 soundbar.

This is important to me….. What is the true diagonal screen length, and what is the true overall height and width? This TV and the matching 7000 grade Sony Soundbar needs to fit in a defined space? The spec says 57” wide, but the title says 65” class?
