Knobs should have a light telling the cook
Perhaps have the engineers fashion a red warning light when a burner is in. Place the light on each of the six gas control kmobs.
It is easy to miss the flame on simmer since it is so small and the knob nearly looks to be in the off position.
This is a matter of safety.

Viking 6 burner. Power like a pro.
After 18 years we replaced our Viking 6 burner with same model updated. The burners have higher BTUs heating even better. The ignitors light much smoother. The grates are lighter and easier to handle.
It's 3 weeks now and very satisfied.

Viking drop in 36" 6 burner cook top.
Wife loves it, cooks evenly because of Cast Iron Grates. Also, too soon to give a grade on all aspects. Our previous drop in cook top was a Jenn-Air 4 burner. So far the Viking is superior ,and I would recommend to others replacing an inferior unit.

36: Gas Cooktop review
I bought the 36" Gas Cooktop couple of months ago. Overall, it is a good cooktop the only fault is being difficult to clean. The rings around the burners are easily stained and quite difficult to clean and remove.

Nice Gas Cooktop
I really like the cooktop overall although there are a few things that I don't like. The rings aluminum rings around the burner are almost impossible to clean without scratching them up, even then there are still spots on them after you clean/scratch them up. There is also no lit indicator that a burner is still on. Keep in mind with the simmer function you can barely see a flame and the knob is close to the position of off when turned fully down. What I like about the top is the look, the functionality of the continuous grating and the largest burner. The outside is easy to keep clean as well as the continuous basin with the exception of noted burner surrounds. The installation was also easy with the supplied materials. I would have rated a 5 if the burners could be cleaned and it had an indicator light.

Good but not perfect Viking cooktop
We really like our new Viking cooktop. Our only issue is that it can be difficult to get some of the burners to lite. It is also hard to keep the burner rings clean and it requires a special abrasive pad to clean them.

Staining burners and igniter working poorly
Purchased this product 2 weeks ago. The first time I used it the burners went black and stained. I called and tried everything to remove the stains and it just won’t come off. As I’ve use it a few more times this is happening to all the burners. I read similar complaints by other customers. This is under a month old and staining on an almost $4000 product which is one of the most expensive stoves is totally unacceptable. I expect this to last for 10 plus years ! I take good care of my appliances and I have called the store to assess and take this back . In addition the igniters don’t work well and it was so embarrassing over thanksgiving because we had to use a lighter to get the flame going. I do not recommend wasting your money on this product and I will be waiting for recourse from the store and the supplier! Unacceptable
