Extra quiet!
This is my second Vernado brand fan. This one is perfect for circulating air: in from or to the outside. I prefer circulating air vs conditioned during milder temperatures. Coupled with good ceiling fans I have been able to keep three connected rooms at comfortable temperatures without turning on the AC. The remote was a bit challenging for me to get set up to my preferred temperature, but fortunately the memory keeps the latest info.
The foam blocks included are good to close the gaps around the fan in a variety of window frames. I’ve used three different sized windows to determine which is the best for my circulation! The sleek design allows me still enjoy the outside view. My two previous window fans were clunky, noisy, and blocked the view.
I bought my first Vernado (a space heater) several years ago because it was described as quiet and made in the US. I almost didn’t buy this one because it is not made domestically, but I’m glad I did. Both products are extremely quiet which is a must for a light sleeper!
Once the space heater with a fan only option is made in the US, I will be purchasing it to replace my current one. The plastic “tip over tab” broke and for years I have used a piece of tape to recess the tab.
I highly recommend both of these named products!

Really great but would love for Vornado to make a cover.
We have three of these and love them. We live in Florida and leave them in the windows year round but there are a few days, really hot or really cold, that I do take them out. It's not that much trouble but it'd sure be nice if Vornado made some simple covers for the front, maybe hold on by elastic and hooks into the handles, that could be put on, and taken off, in seconds. Just sayin'. :)

Streamlined and effective
This is perfect for my older non-air-conditioned house. Easy to install and move. Perfect for Southern California--removes warm afternoon air and then reverse to bring in the cool night air. Pretty quiet, too.

Nice option
Being able to draw fresh air in, close the window and exhaust without moving the fan or opening or closing the window has proven to be a useful feature!
I wish the hard plastic pieces intended to “fit” the fan to the frame were a softer, compliant material as that would be more help. We ended up cutting a piece of foam to provide a better seal.

Quiet and powerful
This fan works very very well. It is quite quiet and very powerful. I installed it vertically because my windows slide horizontally and it works just fine. Love the product really helps me draw in the cold air from my air conditioner in the other room to my bedroom.

I had been looking for something like this for a long time and found this by accident on another site other than vornado. It was a great price and works great; it keeps the room cool. I loved that fact that I was also able to order extra window extenders at the same time considering the window I am using the fan in is larger than normal.

Great Fan
I bought this about a month ago. I needed it to ventilate my garage. I live in a hot climate and my garage gets hot and humid such that everything rusts. So far the fan is keeping my garage somewhat cooler. I have it in exhaust mode.

Great Fan
This fan does exactly what I wanted it to do. I only wish that it could have been installed at the top of the double hung window instead of only at the bottom. I use it to pull hot air out of a hot garage in the summer and the hottest air is located at the top of the low ceiling. It does what it says but a higher installation in the window would make it that much more efficient.

Not an ac, but exactly what I wanted from a fan. Quiet, powerful, elegant, low profile. It won't cool the whole room, but if I am in it's path I can sleep through the night comfortably

Awesome fans
Bought two of these and they are fantastic! Set them to create a cross breeze in the house to avoid using the window AC on the not so hot days. It keeps the cool. And they work great for exhausting the warm air already in the house. The only small “bother” is the small areas that aren’t covered by the foam inserts. We have screens so we don’t get bugs. But it would be nice to have a remedy.

Practically Perfect in Every Way!
The Vornado TRANSOM is easily the most powerful and elegant window fan I have ever had the honor of seeing or using; while being surprisingly quiet AND weather resistant!
As someone who sleeps hot at night, the strong, low height wind generated by the TRANSOM helps keep me nice and cool. Family and friends have also mentioned how much cooler my room feels now in comparison to the rest of the apartment while it is running. I absolutely LOVE it!
The unit is pleasantly lightweight despite its size, and installation required no effort once I figured out the correct orientation for the included foam blocks (the manual doesn't specify, so it took a little bit of trial and error). My only real complaints are that the unit lacks of any kind of built-in rear mesh or screen to keep mosquitoes and the occasional carpenter bee out (this is something I'd love to see added in future models or revisions along with an even more powerful speed setting), and that the touch (and even remote) controls can be a little unresponsive at times (I would've preferred physical buttons). The manual states to keep the window screen installed for that very reason but doing so is impossible on the apartment's thin to average size windows (as shown in photos).
Overall, I'd HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a powerful window unit without the hassles of installing an air conditioner, or the noise of a box fan. I can't wait to see what future generations of the TRANSOM product line have in store if the first gen is THIS good!

Quiet/Powerful
Moves a lot of air while being very quiet.
I like that the exhaust air is directed upward.
My only suggestion would be to have a setting whereby the display would stay on, so the indoor temperature could be viewed.

Excellent Design and Functionality
I needed a window fan with a slim profile powerful enough to move enough fresh air in and exhaust well when cooking, showering etc. into the Victorian studio apartment I recently rented in San Francisco with little ventilation. The TRANSOM is the first window fan that does the job and keeps this place fresh! Great design, mechanically very sound, quiet and effective! Good work Vornado! P.S. I bought Trandom a week ago and it is great healthy air from outside coming in from window and screen down stays within your window and circulating properly you can even have another
window open with screen down and get more

Wonderful Air Circulator

I wanted something in my kitchen to bring fresh air while I'm cooking and I decided upon Transom Window Air Circulator over a ceiling fan. What a great choice! Not only can I bring cooler air in, I also can reverse the air flow which is great when I have lots of things on the stove. Also, it is super quiet and very sleek looking. When it's off, all the blades shut and makes it weather proof. I highly recommend the Vornado Transom Air Circulator.

Excellent window air circulator!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I set this up in a window by our breakfast nook which is near the kitchen. I love that this allows fresh air to be brought into our home without having to open the window, especially seeing as it's currently humid outside with insects flying around in my area. It doesn't take up much space and doesn't obstruct the view in the window. I cook often so it's nice to get the cool air circulating when my hot gas stove and oven are going. I like the fact that it saves room too. Installation is very simple and the owner guide is informative, easy to read and easy to understand. Very pleased with this window air circulator!

Worth every penny

We are a family that love our room cold at night and I didn't think we would get that with a window fan. Boy was I wrong! This one hit us with a "waterfall of air" as my husband called it. We end up needing to turn it off because the room gets so cold. I will be buying one for every bedroom!

Works great!

Our central air has not been able to keep up making the nights rough for sleeping. The Vornado window air circulator has helped our nights so much. Cooler rooms
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the TRANSOM Window Air Circulator a few weeks ago. I immediately put it in my bedroom window. We only have window a/c in out living room. The reason this window fan is so great is that you can either blow air in or blow the hot air out. It comes with a remote. It has touch controls too. With one touch or click the circulator revolves from one to the other. There are 4 speeds. Y. There is also a temperature control. I love this so much I went and got another to put in my other bedroom window. It's almost like having an a/c in there.

Just what I needed

Cross ventilation through open windows was just not cutting it for me. With this air circulator, smoke and kitchen odors no longer hang around as it is very efficient in ventilating and refreshing indoor air.

I bought two of these fans recently and there’s nothing else like it - for the cost, at least. They are quiet and easily switch between inside/outside air - which is a great feature if you want to create a flow of fresh air from one end of the house to the other with two fans. They are a sturdy fit in my single-hung windows.

Just what I needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had this lasko square shaped fan that we put in the kitchen when we cook to use as an exhaust but this is a total game changer. It fit right into our kitchen window and looks so much better! It can take the kitchen air and push it out but also can be used to being the fresh air in. Installation is a piece of cake and doesn’t require special tools! Easy to use and not complicated by unnecessary buttons. Stays out of the way since it sits in the window and not on the floor! Would totally recommend!
