The builder selected this microwave and it is very basic. It's also small. A large mixing bowl nearly touches the top of the microwave. Additionally, the support under the carousel is unstable. It often comes out of the track. One of the thing I like least about this microwave is that one needs to open the door in order to access the controls.

We had chosen a Frigidaire that fit the bill. Due to “ supply chain” issues we could not get one for many months. our contractor picked this one. It is sleek and looks nice BUT is only able to do already programmable items such as reheat, frozen meals,potatoes, etc. You cannot put in your own times. There is no number keys. Totally frustrated and paid significantly for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hello there: Our recent home purchase included a new suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances. I've been a fan of Whirlpool for several years, primarily due to United States manufacturing. This under counter microwave was a neat idea. Powers the door open at the press of a button. The unit heats quite well. The number pad is hidden by the door, thus time entering must be done while door is open. Issues.... The clear surface material over the 1 button is already deteriorating one month in, with only a finger touching the surface (no it's not a removable shipping film). Secondly, the number pad is not backlit, thus one has to bend lower to discern the buttons. Thirdly, given your time entry must be done with door open, the microwave ought to start heating when the door is closed instead of having to press a start button (I wouldn't open and enter time if I didn't want it to immediately begin operation when closing the door). We'll be purchasing a counter top unit and use this one sparingly as a backup. God bless you. Seek the Lord Jesus for all truth, there's no other source.

However I recently noticed that the steam that has being emitted from the microwave vents are damaging my cabinets. I noticed that the paint on the cabinets directly above the microwave are starting to peel and chip. As this microwave cannot be vented outside, there is no way for me to deflect the steam away from my cabinets. Do you have a solution to this problem? Thank you. I would only recommend this product if there were a way to solve this problem.

It was not until I used it to heat up a mug to make myself hot chocolate, when I hear sparking and I immediately take it out of he cabinet and see that the transformer is sparking.
