When my Whirlpool Bottom Feezer/Refrigerator was delivered, they did not hook up the ice maker. (It was not removed.) There is a large container near the ice maker that I use for my own ice cube trays,&amp; I have a smaller container for the ice cubes themselves that I use. Seems to be working out fine for me.
