Windmill AC
very nice unit. Easy to install and does its job quietly and efficiently. The only fault was with the installation and operating instructions; very hard to find and once I found the web page, the link to the operating instructions was ambiguous, didn’t mention operating instructions specifically. Both manuals are now downloaded to my iPad, but you really should make it more obvious where to get these critical instructions when the new owner opens the box for the first time. I’m sure it all makes sense to you, but you need to have someone who is unfamiliar with the product try to find the manuals, especially an older person who isn’t as comfortable using the Internet to find things

This is the best window unit I have ever had, and I have had many. I've lived in New York City for 25+ years, so I have seen and had my fair share of a/c solutions. You're not going to top Windmill. Highly recommend.

Great customer service
My windmill stopped working and although it was out of warranty after trying everything to fix it and troubleshoot it, the company decided to replace it. A brand new machine just arrived and I’m thrilled. Thanks windmill!

Quality Air Conditioner with Questionable Advertising
I was looking for a quality, small air conditioner with an emphasis of quietness. With regard to quality and quiet, this air conditioner meets my expectations. However, one thing that was made clear to me in the advertising of this product is the ease of installation compared to other budget mass produced air conditioners. As simple as sliding in the AC through the window and spreading the curtains to meet the width. The pictures of the product on the site went as far as to provide an info graphic of X's, indicating the usual materials that come with other common air conditioners that you will not have to fuss with this product. Maybe it would be a stretch, but I imagine people felt similarly mislead when opening the box to see the same materials they thought they would not have to deal with tacked on with a manual in bold print (45 minute installation). This is something admittedly I did not follow, I slid the air conditioner in, expanded the curtains, and used the materials as needed to seal it. The same materials were used to adjust the AC in the proper angle to make sure there is minimal rattling and buzzing. I will have to make sure to preface since I did not follow the 45 minute installation process, the quirky behaviors might be a result. Nonetheless, the AC has been working flawlessly, but with noises that have been unbearable without adjustments in the window or a good push on certain parts of the front. It happens at random and is usually an easy fix. Normal operation, the sound is perfect and what I was looking for. The only thing I cannot fully portray is the longevity of the this AC.

Bought Two A/C Units
I purchased two of these as the first AC units in my new apartment. This is the first time I haven't had central AC, but these window units make it feel like I do again. They're modern, easy to operate, and keep the room cool and quiet. I have one in my bedroom and one in my living room, and I don’t see myself replacing my AC units anytime soon.

Easy installation, beautiful product
Thoroughly impressed by how easy to install the unit was. All is so well thought through that they even include the scissors for cutting the insulation pad (which is the chicest of the sort I’ve seen). The unit itself is minimalist and beautiful to look at. Very pleased overall.

Great AC for NYC studio
Shipped quickly and super simple to install - lovely to keep on all night as it’s perfectly quiet white noise. Room stays cool, remote and app also very handy to make everything flow easier. Also aesthetically pleasing inside and out. Would always recommend !!

Old school service on new school technology amazing combo
We bought several of these and they worked amazingly well. Unfortunately, about seven months in one went bad. Windmill has an amazing customer support team within moments I had responses was able to provide them the information and they had one shipped to me immediately to replace it amazing service old school version new school technology thank you

I love this thing
I live in the Chihuahua desert I stand by this product when it reaches 112 outside. I have one in every room of my house because I live in a historic building with no AC. And moreover I stand by this company with their amazing customer service who helped me out when I was in a pickle. They gave me stress-free troubleshooting and fast responses. The best support I’ve honestly had in years. And with no subscription go figure, other companies wish they had customer service like this.

Amazing!
I purchased two of these units last year, and I am so happy with them. I'm happy for 3 reasons. 1. They cool the room down very nicely. 2. They are quiet, very quiet. 3. They look nice in the window - sleek.I have two more rooms that use window AC's; however, the current ones still work, so I can't justify purchasing new ones. But when I do, I will head on over to the retailer that sells these amazing units. Very satisfied customer who will be returning for another purchase or two.

Awesome little window AC
I got the 6000 BTU version for a teenager’s small bedroom. The unit was great. Very easy to install. Looks sleek. Having it available through the app is a nice bonus. Plan to replace older, less efficient units with other Windmill ACs this coming summer

The Upgrade of a Lifetime
My husband and I purchased two Wind units last summer after our (not so old) units from a certain brand experiencing awful mold issues were deemed unfit for use. We are so distraught and really put time and effort into shopping for replacements. When we found Windmill, we knew we found a brand we could trust. Installing the units was a breeze - I did it 99% by myself, with a quick hand from my husband to support them before locking in. The custom side panels are amazing! Create a chic and clean look that feels very well insulated. The whole profile of the units is sleek and designer looking. Operation-wise, the units are whisper quiet and cool extremely efficiently/quickly. We will be moving homes this summer, and I’m honestly excited (something I never thought I’d say) to get our units in the new windows! Windmill is an changer when it comes to window ACs.

World of Difference
Even though I had a new HVAC system installed, I was still uncomfortable upstairs, in my 1925 home. None of my friends had heard of Windmill before, but after I read a review on Wirecutter I decided to try one for my bedroom. It arrived quickly and it was light enough that I could carry it upstairs myself, with little effort (69 y.o. female). In less than 30 minutes, with a little assistance from my teenage granddaughter, we had it installed; it quickly & quietly cooled my upstairs, beyond the bedroom I purchased it for. This is almost so easy to install that one person could do it, but due to the original, 100 year-old windows it required two people to keep the window propped open. Placing and securing it was simple. I love that the vents blow upward and not directly on me. You can hear it cycle on, but I find it no more noticeable than my central a.c. and it does not interfere with my sleep. I'm very pleased with my purchase & the comfort it provides through the sweltering summer months.

Perfect for my Sunroom
Summers in Texas Hill Country can be brutal, especially in a windowed room with no central air. This gem has made my Sunroom a cool utopia for my pack of rescue dogs. Everything about the unit was a breeze (pun intended). The order arrived quickly. It unboxed easily, and setup was detailed step-by-step in the instructions. As a 64 y.o. woman, I was able to do the install all by myself. And with the app, I can control its functions from my phone. I am so impressed, I also bought a Windmill Air Purifier and Windmill Fan!

Quiet but powerful!
I live in a small apartment in NYC — the Windmill AC was perfect for my shoebox-sized room. I loved the fact that I could control it remotely to cool down my room before I got off the subway, and I found it incredibly intuitive to use. I’m moving to a larger apartment in a couple months and looking forward to getting a second one. Also, my roommate’s cat loves to sit by it too!

love my upgraded AC!
I've been using windmill ACs for several years now, and a major plus is that I can control the unit via the phone app even when I'm not home. Not only does it work well, the design of the AC looks beautiful in my apartment. I used the original model (6k BTU) for 3 years, but after moving last year I decided to get the new WhisperTech model (8k BTU) and am super impressed with how much quietier it is and how quickly it cools my home. The customer support has always been fantastic as well!
