Beautiful lock works perfectly
Best looking smart lock on the market. Very robust software. All works as it should. I had a smart lock from a different company at the beginning and it definitely didn’t work as well. East installation.

Nice new features, bad execution.
We have had Yale touch screen locks for over 8 years. Have been promoting them to friends and family for just as long. Lost track of how many I have helped install. Have had a few issues, nothing major though. This new Assure lock new out of the box had a defective deadbolt that would twist as it deployed. That would prohibit it from latching. Support was gracious enough to send a replacement after providing pictures and video. Still was a few hours of wasted time dealing with issues. On receipt of the new deadbolt, it was easy to note the redesign to prevent the problem. Why not just swap the part before shipping it to begin with if they knew it was an issue. The new box, purchased directly from Yale did not include installations, which normally did not bother me, but the process has changed, and programing now goes through the app, not the key pad. Had to look up the instructions on the support website. Lastly, I personally prefer old touchscreen surface. To me seems much more durable and substantial. This new one raises quality issues for me.

The lock is beautiful and functions well. But creating a home kit lock that doesn’t have homekey is just silly

Does this lock work with Ring Alarm?
I think Yale has a version that works with Google / Ring. I have an Apple / HomeKit setup so I am unsure of the other smart home environments.

How do you use the Apple Watch to unlock it? Like what’s that process and what does it use(Bluetooth)?
It does use Bluetooth or the optional Wi-Fi module. Once connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth, I am able to ask Siri to lock or unlock. I can also monitor and control the lock via HomeKit Home app or the Yale app.

will this work with smartthings-- Zigbee or zwave compatibility ( with the added module) like the prior generation?
The Z-Wave Module for Yale Assure Lock 2 is not yet available. We expect to be shipping it by end of year. However, our Wi-Fi version of this lock does work with Samsung Smartthings!

Can this lock be upgraded with the Z-Wave Plus module?
No, the Z-Wave Smart Module for the Yale Assure Lock 2 is not yet available. But, if you buy the Bluetooth version of the lock today, we will let you know as soon as the Z-Wave module is available!

Is this lock compatible with the Z-Wave module?
This lock is not compatible with the current Yale Z-Wave Plus Smart Module available today. We will be releasing a new Z-Wave module for the Assure Lock 2 by end of year. You can always buy the Bluetooth lock and upgrade later!

Will this lock be able to be upgraded to work with apple Homekey??
Assure Lock 2 is the foundation of our newest flagship smart lock collection and has been built to support the addition of new models with more advanced technologies, like Apple Home Key. We're working on developing a new, standalone Home Key lock (separate purchase will be required) and will have more to share next year.
