Very Hard Set Up!

Comments about Generations® 42" 4 Shelf TV Stand - Black on Black:
This is a very beautiful piece once it is assembled. I purchased this item for my bedroom so that I didn't have to mount my television. This item is very tall so it looks great in front of my bed. My only issue with this is the fact that the back plate holes where the screws are suppose to go was off by a bit. But even though it was extremely hard and took two people to accomplish it we managed to get the screws in to complete the assembly. Let me warn you now you will have to be very strong to pull that metal up so that you can get the screws to go in. I had to get one of my male friends to helm with that. I can assure you this though when I move I will not be taking this apart. But other than that very nice item.

Could not be assembled
from Long Island City, New York
The screw holes in the back panel are about an inch off. I could not finish assembly.
Customer service's only suggestion was that I return it, and they were unwilling to do that without the original packaging, which I had already disposed of.It seems like there's nothing I can do.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Good unit--with a problem
from Brooklyn, NY
This is a very attractive piece, with plenty of shelf space for your TV and all its peripherals. The materials seem quite sturdy. We were ready to love it, and I have rated it highly for that, just to be fair. But assembling it was a frustrating nightmare. It seems some of the screw holes are off by a couple cm. And since it's metal, one can't just drill new holes, as with wood. But it's up now, still minus a couple of fastening points. Disassembling it now to return it is not something we want to go through either. Just hoping for the best!
