Our kitchen opens directly into the main living area, meaning the dishwasher sits essentially right next to the TV. In an open-concept design, noise level isn't just a specification—it's a lifestyle factor. The Benchmark is completely unnoticeable. It washes thoroughly without ever competing with the TV or family conversation. It does its job entirely in the background.
2. Spotless Performance (From Hard Water to Soft)
Having previously lived in Southern California, I spent years fighting stubborn hard water film and spots. I tried premium dishwashers from multiple brands—including GE Profile—and found that only the Bosch family (including Thermador) could actually handle the job.
Now, using the Benchmark in Vancouver’s soft water ecosystem, the performance is flawless. Dishes, cutlery, and glassware come out completely pristine and spotless every single time.
3. The Truth About the "Drying Issue"
Before purchasing, I read online complaints from users claiming Bosch dishwashers leave dishes damp or struggle with drying. That has not been my experience at all. Everything comes out bone-dry and ready to be put away immediately. Bosch Benchmark Dishwasher

I still regret carrying it to the curb. We even helped the guy who"s dad sent him to get it, load it up. Hope they give it a second life.

Finally Clean Dishes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't think I'd ever have strong feelings about a dishwasher... and yet here we are.
This Bosch is so quiet I have to check the little red floor light to make sure it's actually running. This dishwasher silently transforms my coffee cups from "I'll soak that later" to sparkling clean.
The dishes come out spotless, it dries way better than I expected, and now I find myself loading it like it's some kind of relaxing evening hobby. Never thought I'd be this emotionally invested in an appliance, but Bosch has apparently turned me into someone who brags about their dishwasher.
10/10. If it could fold laundry, I'd leave it everything in my will.

The drying and the 3 racks and the water softener built in. It is very quiet as well. Connects to an app. I think it is amazing.

Clean and quiet!

Wonderful, Wonderful. . . but
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bosch makes a great and quiet dishwasher. One strange feature of the new models involves the delay feature. Now, in order to set a 6, 8, or whatever delay, you must use the app. Clearly this is some overthinking as simply pressing the delay button a few times was much easier. The one upside is that the app does show when the cycle will finish so it is easy to plan a 6:30 am finish.

Has some great features like built in water softener, interior light, phone app with notificiations, and smart controls. We have had it in use for a couple months now and wish we would have purchased sooner. Feedback so far for improvements are very limited. Would like the exterior floor display that currently emits the cycle timer lite to also indiciate the cycle is complete until the machine is opened post cycle.

We have had Bosch washers before but this is the quietest one and you hardly know if it it running. The ligh projection with time and status is fun and effective. Dishes come out dry and sparkling clean.

I didn’t know dishwashers could be this good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would always see the dishwasher detergent commercials that would talk about stuck on food and how, "it's not your dishwasher, it's your detergent." Well, this dishwasher puts that claim to shame. I never knew that dishes without water stains were a thing! Not only does it clean my dishes back to store bought quality, but it also sanitizes to give me the peace of mind I need for my newborn. Hard water? No problem! It has a salt compartment to help soften the water. I was never aware that appliances came this good. Splurging for high-end was a definite!

I purchased this Bosch Dishwasher because it looked lovely with the new kitchen appliance set. It is about the 5 home I've installed a Bosch Dishwasher in. And to be honest I'm kicking myself that I didn't go Bosch in this house from the beginning. It does a far nicer job than the one we pulled out. There's a reason BOSCH ID THE NAME IN DISHWASHER S!

Almost perfection
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bosch Benchmark dishwasher is a remarkable dishwasher. It is absolutely quiet. It does a superb job of cleaning and drying. I was able to connect it to our home wireless Internet without any difficulty. It tells us all sorts of things like when it done and when it needs rinse it salt refilled. It has a rinse hold option, but can only be accessed thru the mobile app. That's the only negative I can come up with. We got it on sale and it is definitely worth it!

Wow! Super Quiet and Plates Squeaky Clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is impressive. It is the first appliance I have used where using the AUTOMATIC (instsead of choosing HEAVY or NORMAL) selection actually works well. Items come out extremely clean. And wow, how quiet!! Here are some points which address some of the negative reviews:
1. Instead of an indicator light, there is a count down timer that projects on the floor. When finished, the timer disappears.
2. When finished, water drops can still be found on the inside walls of the machine because of the drying technology used. Instead of bringing in outside air it uses temperature to draw the moisture from the hot dishes to the cool walls. This is much mitigated by using the CRYSTAL DRY option, which adds some time to the cycle.
3. Without the app, there are plenty of cycles available, and I do not miss not using the app. For the extra POWER CONTROL for the bottom rack, I can choose extra power for the FRONT or REAR of the rack, which is just fine for me. I think the app can reduce the power area to quadrants, or perhaps even all of the rack, but I don't find I need the app at all.

So quiet and powerful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Bosch SHX9PCM5N for a few months now, and honestly, it’s one of those purchases I wish I had made sooner. The first thing I noticed was how unbelievably quiet it is—I actually had to check that it was running the first time I turned it on. But beyond that, the cleaning performance is just outstanding. I’ve put in everything from baked-on casserole dishes to greasy pans, and they come out spotless every time without me needing to pre-rinse.
What really makes a difference day-to-day is how thoughtfully it’s designed. The racks are super flexible, and I love the third rack for utensils—it frees up so much space below. I can fit way more in a single load than I expected, which has cut down how often I run it. And the drying is seriously impressive, especially for plastics, which used to come out damp in my old dishwasher. With this one, everything is dry and ready to put away right away.
Overall, it just feels like a high-end, well-built appliance that makes life easier. The controls are simple, the app connectivity is actually useful, and it runs efficiently without me thinking about it. It’s one of those appliances that quietly does its job so well that you forget about it—but in the best way. If you’re on the fence, I’d absolutely recommend it—it’s been worth every penny for me.
