It’s super cold
It cools off both my kitchen and living room as it was placed in between those two. Had to set it at 76 or 78 degrees- any lower than that is too cold even if it’s up to 100 degrees outside. The design is also beautiful and it’s not loud like my old aircon. I highly recommend it.

Great A/C and Quiet, Too

Fabulous product! It's the quietest air conditioner that I've ever owned. I don't even realize that it's on. The service given to me by Sharif in your Bay Ridge store was one of my best experiences of Customer Service in many years. He truly is very knowledgeable in this product. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Happy and cool with my new AC
My built-in AC unit died after 25 years. I bought a Friedrich 18,000 BTU unit and had PC install it. So worth the money to have them install it. I bought a unit very close to the size of the original. Trimming the opening is included in the fee. Six months interest free financing and the AC is quiet and super efficient. Very happy.
P.S. our salesman was fantastic!

Friedrich air conditioner from China
I bought this unit to replace a Friedrich 18000 BTU air conditioner that was 35 years old and finally gave up the ghost. I was under the impression that Friedrich was building these in the United States or Mexico, but the unit I received was made in China. This gives me concerns about its longevity. Another reason I purchased this unit was that Friedrich has a reputation for quiet air conditioners. I would consider this one just average in terms of sound levels. The old one had a quieter compressor.

Not as much cooling power
Quiet, but does not cool the area as fast as the 18000 Friedrich it replaced. When area heats up later in the day does not respond fast enough to keep constant temperature.

Who Let the Bugs In
Wish I could give this a higher rating because it is super quiet, and cools a large portion of my apartment quickly. However, the design of the chassis and sleeve has HUGE gaps that allow insects inside. Also, the front of the sleeve has such a wide open "cage" that birds can easily fit in there to nest. In general the materials are much lighter/thinner than previous Friedrich ACs. The filter is a joke, basically chiffon type fabric that is already coming loose at the edges. Shocking decline from my last large Friedrich window AC from 2012.

Operates Great but Poor Quality Control
They cabinet exterior grill-Friedrich name is welded crooked. I purchased a Friedrich unit again because my previous Friedrich unit worked great for 30+ years until it recently failed. I didn’t notice the crooked grill until I had already installed the unit in the wall and someone pointed it out. I take pride in my installation and expected Friedrich to always be of the highest quality. The unit functions great but it’s very disappointing I have to now look at that crooked grill.

Friedrich A/C Poorly Engineered
This is a poorly designed and manufactured unit. The first one that was excellently installed had issues with its louvre, its remote control and its wifi/bluetooth connection. It was replaced with a second unit that cools well and has a properly working louvre. However, the new remote has intermittent issues and must be used directly in front of the a/c unit or it will not be detected. It also refuses to connect with my bluetooth and my wifi. I'm tired of complaining so I will keep it because it does cool the living room. Sad.

Not a Great Choice!!
This model's electronic features are VERY badly designed and, mostly, don't work. It's supposed to work remotely using an app. It is supposed to have an Eco Mode...however, aside from actually cooling the room (which it actually does), none of the electronic features seem to work. Despite repeated attempts to connect to my wifi and to connect to the built-in Bluetooth, it won't respond to either. The remote is a joke - as it usually only works if you're standing 1 or 2 feet away from the unit. The sales help has no idea how to advise with, or correct this problem. In fact, their first delivery and installation showed these deficiencies so they had to bring a second unit to replace it. That one had the very same problems. I will, likely never buy another Friedrich product ever again, or, buy something from P.C. Richards - regardless of their deceptive pricing. Frankly...I don't know how they've stayed in business all these years. As for me - NEVER AGAIN!! (Update: This is my 2nd summer using this unit. The air conditioner still cools the room well BUT...the electronic features still do not!!!)

Caution.
On the money saver setting when the system comes out of low mode, it has an annoying hum/vibration, I had the tech here and he said it is normal.
I also still have not been able to connect to the WIFI option, I was told by tech support that I would have to turn off 5g on my router and only use 2.4g to connect, then turn 5g back on. If you have an older router like I do, you won't be able to just turn off 5g. The company said they are working on an update to fix this.
I wish LG had one this size, I would have bought that instead.
