Easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really though it would be more difficult to replace an ac wall unit. This made it so convenient as it's a universal fit. Having air emissions a must for me as the weather gets warmer. I really like you can control this with wifi, its a great bonus. It cools so nice and isn't loud like my older one.

Easy to use A/C unit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed this at our garage shop and it’s working out great! We’ve used it some but our weather hasn’t been super hot yet. Does a great job of cooling our space and getting the humidity under control. I love that it runs off an app and can be controlled when you aren’t near the unit.

Great window unit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great window unit that has excellent cooling capability. Installation was a breeze and I could do it by myself in about 30 minutes. It really keeps my room cool without disruptive noise. My energy bill hasn't gone up by too much at all and I can live in comfort now that the hot weather has started here in Florida.

Summer Lifesaver!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Friedrich Uni-Fit Smart 10,000 BTU unit to replace an old through-the-wall AC, and honestly, I’m kind of in love with it (is that weird?). Installation was straightforward, and it fit perfectly into the existing sleeve without a bunch of DIY drama—huge win.
The cooling power is impressive. It handles my living room (around 400 sq ft) like a champ, even on those brutally hot days. What really sold me, though, were the smart features. I can turn it on from my phone before I get home, and by the time I walk in, it’s already cool. Plus, I’ve yelled at Alexa to turn it down more times than I’d like to admit.
It’s also surprisingly quiet—like, “I can actually watch TV without cranking the volume” quiet. The energy saver mode helps keep the electric bill in check too, which I definitely appreciate.
Only minor complaint? The app setup took a few extra minutes and a little patience. But once it was up and running, it’s been smooth sailing.
Overall, if you’re looking for a powerful, quiet, smart AC that doesn’t require a full window commitment—this is the one. Totally worth it.

Easy installation

quiet and make the room cold very fast

I installed for my guest room and it is very quiet and makes the room cool very fast. Not too sure abour the energy efficiency but I will check my electricity bill at the end of the month. And the design is very elegant and looks nice.

Very cool
We ordered 2 of these to replace the wall ac's we had that were very old. I actually called the store to make sure I was ordering the correct size and they recommended these. They are way more efficient than what we had, they have a remote control that is great because they are very high up on the wall and they have a readable temperature display.

I bought this a couple of months ago when my old air conditioner died suddenly after 15 years (well, I knew it was coming). I called PC Richard the very next day to order a replacement and they were very helpful. A few days later it was installed very quickly. It did take me a while to figure out how to setup the wifi. Had to check out some youtube videos. Now that I have that done I love using the app on my phone instead of the remote to set the timer, etc. The remote is a little strange. This unit is a bit louder than my old AC but it's not terrible. It keeps my bedroom cool and as long as it continues working well I'm good. Looking back though, the only real issue was how much I agreed to pay for the extended warranty. Almost $400. That's the cost of another AC. But I was in a hurry and desperate.

A well known and respected brand with one one flaw

Friedrich Quality gives Great Cooling
The Friedrich A/C unit has the high cooling quality expected from this manufacturer. The control panel and remote are designed well and easy to operate. However, the WiFi needs more R&D. It’s Not user friendly and as a result, does Not work. They need to completely redo the WiFi.

Problems cooling
Bought this for my mother-in-law and it never cooled. They took it back after 2 service calls didn’t fix the issue. The replacement was actually the newer model and she’s having the same problem. Went to look at it today and the compressor does not come on. Ready to call service again. Very disappointed.

Too Hot in August from
Only lasted two years before failing
Bought this unit in June 2022. It worked fine at first. Now in August 2024 it suddenly stopped blowing cool air. We called for a repair service, and they told us that although the compressor was turning on that no cold air was blowing out. Very disappointed. We had bought 3 units in 2022 for 3 rooms -- I hope the other two don't give out like this one did. Other reviews show that this problem with the compressor giving out after two years appears to be common. Friedrich should FIX THIS ISSUE and give people their money back.

Disappointed!
I recently bought this unit after attempting to research the operating noise level. This was difficult to sort out online. I then went to PC Richards and one of the salesman came over. After much discussion he was able to show me on his phone that this unit had a noise level of 55 and was considered quiet.
It is anything but quiet. Actually is louder than my old discarded unit. My gauge is the volume I need to put my TV on to hear it while operating the AC. Very disappointing that the info given was not reliable

Quietmaster?
Have had Friedrich units in past - other than outward appearance nothing much changed except now has wifi and includes more installation accessories. Wifi instructions fail to give crucial bit of info for you to get to operate so you will waste much time getting connected. Look on YT for answer. Basically it is a $800 white noise generator that happens to moderately cools a room. Nothing has improved in noise - it is 1-2decibels louder then prior comparable models. Remember folks, these ac units are no longer materially designed or manufactured here (true of main competitors). Had a more descriptive and helpful comment but was unduly censored.
